I had the luxury of growing up the son of a massive Ford guy who happened to vintage race Shelbys. So I happen to have quite a bit of exposure around all of these cars at a very young age. The GT 40 was always my favorite car since I was about seven years old. And not many kids that young happen to know the history especially back in the early 90s. It just wasn’t as well-known or as massively popular as it is now. But I’m glad that everybody is Aware to a certain extent now.

Well, they did this beautiful car but the 250 gto is a lot more famous. Plus ford has done 2 production race cars in history while Ferrari is the best and most famous company. I love the GT40 but Ferrari has always been superior.

Fantastic video and car, the soundtrack left me wanting more, I wanted to hear it screaming on a track and roaring thru downshifts in the turns! That is one car I would struggle with giving it back and if on track I don’t know if I would ever want to leave the track until I needed fuel. Thanks for making this video, it was incredible!
I thought of wanting to buy this race car with the thought that it's carrying that excellence and perfection put in by KEN MILES AND CAROL SHELBY but no...they didn't get the respect and love they deserved and the spirit of this car is now just that of a fast car made by ford....
When Ford had their offices in Irvine, CA I think they owned a house a couple doors down from mine in Lake Forest because I'd see all these cool cars parked in the driveway. Before the GT was available to the public I saw one in the driveway of this house, same classic colors. It was there for a week or so and then gone.
Next month I get to drive a Lambo Superleggera, Aston Vantage 2021 as well as a GT40 and that is what I look forward to the most. It is the king of motorsport and home to legend Ken Miles

I would spec it with the 427 engine. And I would need working windows. But I can see having one of these built, if I could afford it. The engine sounds are way better than any McLaren.
I lkke the body contours of the Mk. I GT40 better, but I think the Mk. II is more historically significant and I like the color scheme of Miles' #1 GT40 better. I also like the right hand-drive/right-hand shifter layout best.

the door sills and cut out are designed to make it easier to get into. The open top allows you to step over the fuel tank and nearly stand up getting into the car. you then slide your butt into the seat and you're done. This isn't a Toyota Carola BTW 364 CI is not massive.
I not that much of a car guy but after watching Ford v Ferrari, I want one! Something about the history and stuff makes it really cool. That and a Delorean... that has always been my dream car. If only I had a bigger property... and more money. :P

I drive the 2006 ford gt40 in gran turismo, you get in the cabin of it yoj hear the twin turbo, meanwhile you only just start hearing them around the top speed.
The rear wing is hard mounted to the transaxle so when the car squats under hard acceleration you see the wing squat with it. Much more effect than a "poser" wing mounted to the body.

How many Future Forty's are there? I remember one at SEMA that looked exactly the same, but had a 700hp ecoboost V6.
There are currently two with more being built. My car is the one at SEMA in the Magnaflow booth with the EcoBoost V6.
Was the 3.5L V6 tuned from 647 to 700 HP(200hp per liter).
It started as a takeout motor from a Ford F150 and was built for power versus the standard Ford GT engine.

A chassis mounted wing is typically much stronger and more functional than a wing bolted to a body panel.
