Great frickin movie
I had the luxury of growing up the son of a massive Ford guy who happened to vintage race Shelbys. So I happen to have quite a bit of exposure around all of these cars at a very young age. The GT 40 was always my favorite car since I was about seven years old. And not many kids that young happen to know the history especially back in the early 90s. It just wasn’t as well-known or as massively popular as it is now. But I’m glad that everybody is Aware to a certain extent now.

Well, they did this beautiful car but the 250 gto is a lot more famous. Plus ford has done 2 production race cars in history while Ferrari is the best and most famous company. I love the GT40 but Ferrari has always been superior.

Fantastic video and car, the soundtrack left me wanting more, I wanted to hear it screaming on a track and roaring thru downshifts in the turns! That is one car I would struggle with giving it back and if on track I don’t know if I would ever want to leave the track until I needed fuel. Thanks for making this video, it was incredible!

I'm sure someone has already said this but the 40 in the name GT40 comes from the 40" roof height. It is actually 40" tall.

The wings sinks down when using the throttle lolololol.
The rear wing is hard mounted to the transaxle so when the car squats under hard acceleration you see the wing squat with it. Much more effect than a "poser" wing mounted to the body.
@@dmdproductions1570 Gt 3 rs. Body mounted wing, I mean the trunk counts as part of the body soooooo. Anyways thanks for telling me why the wing was moving.
A chassis mounted wing is typically much stronger and more functional than a wing bolted to a body panel.
@@dmdproductions1570 Agreed. But all im saying is gt2 RS and gt3RS wings. chassis mounted is stronger but body mounted works fine in that type of application.

When Ford had their offices in Irvine, CA I think they owned a house a couple doors down from mine in Lake Forest because I'd see all these cool cars parked in the driveway. Before the GT was available to the public I saw one in the driveway of this house, same classic colors. It was there for a week or so and then gone.

How many Future Forty's are there? I remember one at SEMA that looked exactly the same, but had a 700hp ecoboost V6.
There are currently two with more being built. My car is the one at SEMA in the Magnaflow booth with the EcoBoost V6.
Was the 3.5L V6 tuned from 647 to 700 HP(200hp per liter).
It started as a takeout motor from a Ford F150 and was built for power versus the standard Ford GT engine.

Beto gameplays /goku blue it has reverse but so ive heard it takes a lot of force to actually put it in gear. Maybe thats just a 2005 model thing

I was ten when this all happened, and I can say that it pretty much turned my brother, my cousin (who we called Parnelli) and Me into TOTAL GEARHEADS.
I would spec it with the 427 engine. And I would need working windows. But I can see having one of these built, if I could afford it. The engine sounds are way better than any McLaren.
This became my dream car to race and sit after knowing the story about it. Hats off ken miles...🙅
