this was double layered tho, he does say you're strong but even he was able to kill you at any moment he wanted as he does. He killed all the players after testing them himself for just how strong they are, meaning that we played all along with the Lich King's plan unintentionally and we would have been the most powerful minions he's had if not for Tirion's luck to be able to break out of his bonds early while we were being resurrected.
This was it. Right there in 2009-2010. Wrath was the greatest expansion and we finally went after the biggest bad in Warcraft. To kill Arthas was epic beyond epic and the competition between top guilds was cutthroat. The fact that I was in a hopelessly far behind yet very fun guild didn't make the encounter less awesome. I wore that title with pride let me tell ya. Yogg-Saron and Arthas stand lonely at the very top of greatest raid encounters and lore significance.
One of the best boss kills recorded, the teamwork and coordination is something different.. The only guild to do him with the 5% buff also. Great fight!

When wow was announced, my first thought was .. OMG.. the story continues with Arthas. What will happen? Will he be the first boss? He wasn't in vanilla. I ended up not playing after TBC. I never saw the Arthas fight. Just now, I'm watching this and everything came rushing back. The conclusion of the matter is so perfect. Hair raisingly good. I don't think anything like this has been done in video games since.
That 103m health pool still chills my spine... that was ridiculous at the time :L ...to put it into perspective I think BQL had just under 78m health and that whole fight was done with the bite buff

Still to this day this is the GREATEST boss fight ever made! I earned "The Light of dawn" server 2nd (Horde first) back then with my guild and that wasnt just a title.......!!!! I still remember our nerd screams on ventrilo!!!
I stopped playing after we cleared 25 man heroic. I was in a really solid guild. I got lucky. Was never interested in going back after that. I played vanilla, that was hard af, then I missed bc and played lich. And I was always bummed I missed it before the buffs. BC was by far the best one.
Imagine your daily baby rage and compare it to that druid tank disconnecting in the middle of a world first fight. Thank god blizz allowed players to logg back then.
