+Sir Harrison The last of the epic 25 mans before Blizzard ruined raiding with 20 mans. Modern 20 mans are fun and challenging but addons are now allowed to play the game for people. DBM shows ground mechanics, Blizzard shows debuff radius, etc. Alot of little things 25 mans had to master in a larger scale without. Heck the fights are so short today too. 8-10 fights on the high end is rather sad. I like mythics, but they're not the same as top end raiding of the past, they fall short of being epic.

This lead to you not being able to release your Spirit during a fight anymore until the boss is dead or the Raid wipes. I hope this helps people appreciate this video even more! :)
Still arguably the most difficult boss WoW has ever seen. My argument is this: Heroic Ragnaros was a 15+ minute fight, where the most difficult part of the fight happened in the very last phase. This meant practicing this phase required 10+ minutes per attempt just to go into that phase. On top of that, mechanics and awareness were more difficult than the "legendary" burning crusade and vanilla wow fights which were difficult only because players were not as skilled as they are today. If today's top guilds progressed in old raids like they did when it was current content, I'm sure a lot of it would've been killed much quicker and easier. The raid coordination required for seeds was phenomenal, and playing as a demo lock on progression required a ton of micro management that made the fight very enjoyable. Also, for the sake of my argument I'm ignoring bosses that were impossible to kill before nerfs or hotfixes.
As someone who progressed on this boss and several other heroic endbosses I must say LK HC was harder, this one was probably 2nd, but LK was just omfg kill me.
Zergons Deathwing was easy... just a dps check... we killed DW hm without any challenge (spine was much harder), but we couldn't kill ragna hm even with 410ilevel...
This is imo the best and most fun fight in Cataclysm. Much like the Lich King fight in Wrath it is varied and challenging (a bit too challenging in this case though before the nerfs).
Brutal boss...600+ attempts for us on 25 man before we downed it. I seriously went to look in the mirror to see if my hair was gray after we killed it.....
9 years have passed since I made my last comment. Now Cataclysm is coming back in Classic mode. I wonder who will be able to beat this OG fight.. one of the best fights ever made in WoW.
On stream,Sco mentioned that one of the best things about Lei Shen was that when you reach him, your group should have the appropriate gear levels to kill him and I can confirm that, though I got there tons of resets later.Tbh it shouldn'be possible to actually aquire enough gear to clear a whole raid in 1 HC reset, regardless of the fact they had their set bonuses&ToT normals. If it was worse than spine it would req. a lot more time&class stacking, only class stacking was locks for dem portals :D
Did it at the time, in the top FR rush, the music fits really well with the feeling when phase 4 was beginning. Everybody was like "Now the real sh*t begins"
This is the best WoW-video on youtube. Though it was their Nefarian-video that made me start playin WoW. Blizzard should honor Paragon in some way. It does not have to be money. An ingame memorial of some sort considering I am one of probably thousands or tens of thousands new beginners thanks to them.
Love how Ramuul, Cenarius and Malfurion just stand there. Is it too much to ask to swing your weapon at him a bit? Grommash and Akama did that. Tirion couldn't. But these guys? Lazy bums...
stumbled upon this video in my favourite list, my hair stood up towards the end, holy shit I love old wow, many say it ended with cata but I'd say MoP, that's when they took away devs and mechanics, talent trees, gear etc... I think cata and Wotlk where the most balanced expansions ever while still feeling like a world, bc and vanilla are not really that hard everyone always says, they're just a lot of grinding
Paragon inspired me to raid and I've been doing that since WOTLK until CN on Shadowlands. Jhazrun made me play Priest until nowdays. Those clips are masterpiece, Paragon/DREAM Paragon was absurdly skilled. This video remembers me when I had more time to play. Good old days. LK kill is memorable clip tho. Cheers to everyone
It's been nearly six years and this is still one of the greatest WFs and nerdscreams ever. This boss was amazing. And from what ToS is looking like the last two bosses might even be able to compete with this bad boy.
Even though Cataclysm had a LOT of bad points... one thing Blizzard certainly got right was the boss fights in that expansion. Sinestra, Heroic Al'akir, Heroic Ragnaros, Heroic Madness of Deathwing... all EXTREMELY epic fights and actually proved to be quite difficult (Madness was to an extent but was beaten faster.) I still remember even at the end of the expansion a lot of the heroic raiders had the Madness kill but were 6/7H in this tier because Heroic Ragnaros was just that difficult. Most groups wouldn't even go past a second attempt depending on where you wiped at because this fight took 15+ minutes. MOP did a LOT better than Cataclysm did but Cataclysm excelled further in these last tier boss fights. Heroic Sha of Fear and Heroic Lei Shen are pretty excellent fights as well but Garrosh and Heroic Garrosh... just don't feel as epic at all. Good fights but don't have the same feeling as these fights did.
Everything about 4.3 and dragon soul sucked, all the raids before then where awesome, and ragnoros was considered by many the true end of cataclysm because SO MANY realms downed deathwing heroic first before ragnoros. Ragnoros was so damn hard he actually compared the the lich king in difficulty
michael jones Completely agree. I remember him being overtuned and then getting that small heroic nerf to one of his abilities and that really didn't help much. I was 6/7H for quite some time. Go figure as soon as we get to Heroic Ragnaros some people on raid nights just did absolutely shitty and died to just stupid things like 'world in flames'. It was stupid. Then in 4.3 cross realm raiding was released. I still remember one morning going on Openraid and finding a Heroic DS run. Literally completed the raid in about an hour and a half with 1 wipe. We go into Firelands and guess what happens? Wipe on heroic. People were literally running Heroic: Firelands and then on Ragnaros switching to normal because it was that hard... and still wiping on normal. It got so bad that I couldn't find a single group to beat Heroic Rag that I had to actually take up an offer of paying 200k just for the kill from the top guild on the server at the time. Definitely was worth it though as they got me the last meta achievement I was missing which got me the Corrupted Firehawk and the Pureblood. Just for the Pureblood alone it was worth it. tl;dr yeah this fight was extremely good in all aspects. Difficulty and epicness.
Andrew Rose you payed 200K for that? wow! lol, i guess my guild got lucky and we downed heroic raggy (obviously after we had all the dragon-soul gear, no in hell way would we have taken raggy with that crap gear)
Still come back to this video at least once a year just because of how good of a fight this was and how epic it is. God I hope Legion has boss fights on this level. Archimonde was literally the only epic boss fight in Warlords which is really disappointing.
Gordon, no. I'm sorry, but I prefer when it's just 1 boss, with insane and overpowered/overtuned mechanics, with no transitions like that. A huuuuuge healthpool and mechanics that test the most seasoned of hardcore raiders, that's what I like.
One of my proudest achievements was getting M Archimonde down, the path i had to take in order for it to happen wasnt the traditional way of ONE guild and however many attempts a team needed to down it, i had to re-create 2 sinking ships in order to be in a competent raid team for what was already a REALLY hard boss. It was special because it was my last end-boss kill before i quit.
[Smoldering Egg of Millagazor] is my go to flying mount when I have the option. Even after all these years. The sweat, blood, and tears that went into an early kill on that boss is hard to understate.
I miss playong WoW. I would always get excited when paragon releases a boss kill video, especially this one. This was a hard fight before the nerf so it was exciting to watch. Miss the good old days :(
This was one of the scariest and hardest bosses in wow’s history. 500+ wipes it taken for these guys to finally down him and it was insanity from what I remembered with this fight. You can hate on cata all you want but you have to admit tier 11 & 12 was the best for content at the time.
for me, cataclysm ragnaros is the best boss in the history of WoW, especially the design of the battle and the last phase, if you look at the current bosses, they are not even close
I mean you're just wrong. Take a look at recent Mythic endbosses (Uu'nat, Sire Denathrius, prenerf Jailer, Raszageth) and you'll see it's just not even close.@@shtNetwork
Paragon killed this boss one whole week (!) before Method killed it World 2nd (the predecessor guild of today's Echo and Method teams). One whole week! Think of all the gear and practice you can get in another week of time...
I can assure you that the fight itself was incredibly challenging and tiresome. This Ragnaros was one of the hardest fights ever. It took Paragon over 500 wipes to kill him. Just so much stuff going on to watch out for and every little failure has a huge impact on the outcome
fireland was an amazing content with awesome boss mechanics. 90% talk about the difficult like it was to easy, but only 1% killed Ragnaros HC and only 5% killed the other.
Actually right now, a year and a half later, is an absolutely perfect time to start playing. it's the very end of the Warlords expansion, and the Legion expansion is still a couple months away. Every new expansion largely makes the game anew, lots of people playing, guilds recruiting, everything is new to everyone, etc. Start now and you got time to get used to the game's mechanics and your chosen class before it launches. :)
Arthas144 I wouldn't call these raids complete garbage. The only problems i have with them is the bugs that some bosses STILL have after this long and the RNG on some bosses (Like M Kromog) These raids are not bad, this one just had a really good final boss.
Eamon C What I meant was that the raids were missing that "epic feeling". I dont find anything epic in having an orc end boss for two tiers, and thank god they didnt put gromm as a final boss in the hellfire citadel :D. Also killing the final boss on the hardest difficulty didnt take 1-2 weeks. When I killed Rag with my guild in 4.2 it felt epic since very few guild have killed them, and after I killed blackhand in lfr I had no interest in doing that raid anymore. Anyway Im not a mythic raider but that's how I see it.
Arthas144 I agree with you to a point. But i think basing your "Epic" feeling off of LFR is the wrong way to go. You could jump into LFR, take off all of your gear and dance around the boss and STILL kill it. Doing Blackhand on Heroic for the first time took a while and most high end guilds didn't even have it down on the first day like they usually would. Even Method has said that MYTHIC Blackhand was one of the most tightly tuned bosses they have done in a while. Try Blackhand on Heroic, it may not be the end END game but it's still pretty far in and it's still pretty cool when the floor gets blown up beneath your feet to reveal a new stage of the fight. WoD is a failure no doubt but not everything turned out poorly.
Eamon C I agree with you. What I am trying to say is that back in 4.2 ( for example ) you had to work your way to be able to see the last boss, now you just click "Join que" ;D. Im not playing for the gear, I want to see the last boss. If I wanted to kill the same boss on 4 different difficulties I would be playing Diablo. When I killed blackhnd lfr I was like "Ok wtf am I supposed to do now, I dont want to farm brf for months to see the same boss with 2 new abilities and more dmg/hp %". Anyway thats just how I see it ;P
if you know this fight before prenerf, this wasn't easy at all. Paragon will always be that special group of people with the same mindset, clearing everything weeks or months before everybody else. Will forever miss Paragon and this times.
The Lich King 25man was the most epic fight, but that was the hardest fight ive ever experienced The Paragon showed his true power Bring the old Paragon back!

Brutal boss...600+ attempts for us on 25 man before we downed it. I seriously went to look in the mirror to see if my hair was gray after we killed it.....
and you still killed it after the nerf im pretty sure
@@Wewurs Late answer but nope prenerf. 🙏
10 years to the day today, by date yesterday, rip WoW.
I simply love the musics from start to finish. Makes me come here everyday just to listen. So badass.
9 years have passed since I made my last comment. Now Cataclysm is coming back in Classic mode. I wonder who will be able to beat this OG fight.. one of the best fights ever made in WoW.
Respect from 2018.
Until this day the most epic first kill video ever.
If it was worse than spine it would req. a lot more time&class stacking, only class stacking was locks for dem portals :D
single most impressive piece of raiding ive seen
7 years later at that stomp at 11:54 is still the best transition to a song ever!
This was 5 years ago? Damn..
7 years. Time running, but we will always remember the awesome fireland.
about to be 10 years now.
@@HbVki 13 years right now
That fight looks so mentally exhausting lol. That last phase...such a long fight.
Did it at the time, in the top FR rush, the music fits really well with the feeling when phase 4 was beginning. Everybody was like "Now the real sh*t begins"
10 years later its still the best video fight ever
This is part of the World of warcraft history
My heart still lie somewhere down in Firelands...
Firelands is overrated blizz have released atleast 5 raids since then that have been better
Sir you just typed out what I’ve been saying for years now.
Who else think this transition with epicness of music is epic? :D 10:34
best fight in WOW for me ...thx Blizz
for me just after LK
It's been nearly six years and this is still one of the greatest WFs and nerdscreams ever.
This boss was amazing. And from what ToS is looking like the last two bosses might even be able to compete with this bad boy.
Even though Cataclysm had a LOT of bad points... one thing Blizzard certainly got right was the boss fights in that expansion.
Sinestra, Heroic Al'akir, Heroic Ragnaros, Heroic Madness of Deathwing... all EXTREMELY epic fights and actually proved to be quite difficult (Madness was to an extent but was beaten faster.)
I still remember even at the end of the expansion a lot of the heroic raiders had the Madness kill but were 6/7H in this tier because Heroic Ragnaros was just that difficult.
Archimonde was literally the only epic boss fight in Warlords which is really disappointing.
you don't think Imperator Mar'gok was epic? with the Cho'gall sequence at the end? really?
Not really, no. It was alright don't get me wrong but I wouldn't label it as epic.
1440p... OMG
2023 is here! Best boss in the game!
Man, it just showed up on my TH-cam frontpage. Had to rewatch
Best fight from Paragon!
Its so Fun and epic)
Paragon is first for me)
Who is still watching in 2022?
always watching! they still inspire me to this day.
The memories 😢I've probably watched this 200 times.
"Any close tries yet? :)"
[Realm First! Heroic: Ragnaros]
3 heals. 3. That is maximum e-peen.
I miss playong WoW. I would always get excited when paragon releases a boss kill video, especially this one. This was a hard fight before the nerf so it was exciting to watch. Miss the good old days :(
Meh, takes me 20 secs to kill Rag; don't see what the big deal is
Marvin Steele Ur dumb
Marvin Steele u r hilarious lol
+Tim Cooper can you not detect sarcasm facepalm
+mcballs duck saying ur dumb, doesnt mean what you think, his joke is dumb, funny, but dumb.
+Rooblin wasn't even funny.
Back when WoW still was about being epic as fuck
i watched this video more than 1000 times and still having fun everytime i see it
This was one of the scariest and hardest bosses in wow’s history.
Take a look at recent Mythic endbosses (Uu'nat, Sire Denathrius, prenerf Jailer, Raszageth) and you'll see it's just not even close.@@shtNetwork
when i watch this i feel like i've killed it :D
Just the best fight ever, Just the best video ever, Just epic, Just Paragon...
This fight saved my life.
fireland was an amazing content with awesome boss mechanics. 90% talk about the difficult like it was to easy, but only 1% killed Ragnaros HC and only 5% killed the other.
kampfmaulwurf123 In my experience as a hardcore raider , ragnaros heroic is the hardest boss in wow after leishen heroic.
kampfmaulwurf123 In my experience as a hardcore raider , ragnaros heroic is the hardest boss in wow after leishen heroic.
+Mert Amasyalı (Aka) Sauramon.
+Mert Amasyalı lich king 25 0%?
Usso taunta everyone ? :D
This makes Illidan, Nefarion, Kel'thuzad, Kiljaeden, Muru, Sinestra and the Lich King look easymode.
watching stuff like this makes me disapointed in the fact that i never played wow..
not too late to start
Actually right now, a year and a half later, is an absolutely perfect time to start playing. it's the very end of the Warlords expansion, and the Legion expansion is still a couple months away. Every new expansion largely makes the game anew, lots of people playing, guilds recruiting, everything is new to everyone, etc. Start now and you got time to get used to the game's mechanics and your chosen class before it launches. :)
Jake Stewart Pro advice here
VITTU SE VAA SULI :DDDD
+Peeeli this is america speak english
+aaron brooks This video was made by finnish guys
Peeeli i'm just trolling :)
***** i know bro
Love Ragnaros and he legs! It was a cool adventure in the Firelands!
WTF 1440p
I've seen 2160p
You'll be able to see ragnaros's subparticles
Luis Alexander Silva-Santisteban Sierra lol that's the big difference for 720p?
Garrosh, Blackhand, even Archimonde...they'r world first kill will never be that epic. Take note blizz, your raids are pure garbage atm, rip wod
Arthas144 the worst part is that your right...
Arthas144 I wouldn't call these raids complete garbage.
The only problems i have with them is the bugs that some bosses STILL have after this long and the RNG on some bosses (Like M Kromog)
These raids are not bad, this one just had a really good final boss.
Will forever miss Paragon and this times.
this will forever be the best video and kill in wow history
8 years later...still awesome.
Wathing this in 2013. Still epic as hell!
The Lich King 25man was the most epic fight, but that was the hardest fight ive ever experienced
The Paragon showed his true power
Bring the old Paragon back!
This boss killed my guild, I didn't raid again until Warlords. Still the best boss fight ever and Paragon still the best guild to have played. They are the real end boss of WoW.
This is worth watching when WOW celebrates 15 years of wow
literally one of the boss kills of all time
Blizzard has allways managed to ace with the voiceacting. Ragnaros, Lich King, Yogg-Saron, even Deathwing - all had spot on voices.
I allways had little chills when Ragnaros emerges from the lava.
FALL TO YOUR KNEES MORTALS! THIS ENDS NOW!
One of the funnest boss fights in the game.
Yes, hole Fireland was nice. Had my best WoW time in Firelands with my little Clan.
Looking forward to your coming back.
one of the last true Raids in WoW.. and I know, you can even argue over this...
Paragon was the best guild, is and always is going to be. One tier doesn't make any difference!
"NO FIEND! YOUR TIME IS NOW!"
god i love that line
Damn, he really DOES sprout legs on Heroic! And they manage to make it look cool, too!
