FYI… Our REI associate told me that they are no longer carrying Stanley cooksets in their stores. They are only interested in selling MSR or other more expensive products. Thanks for your video review of the Wildfare.
I like my old Stanley two cup cook set but I’m seriously considering getting this upgraded version. I really like the way it fits into the budget Walmart cup.
I love the Stanley cook set. My beginner's cookset consists of the Nalgene stainless steel bottle, the Stanley pot, that Walmart $5 cup, and a Condor bottle carrier on Amazon. I can sling that whole system over my shoulder. I use this in my deer stand a lot. Works great with a little gas burner. I think it's around $100 for the whole set up.
I have the original Adventure set. I will be getting this new one as soon as I can. One thing I have yet to find is a good Stainless Steel Pot or Cup that will nest on the Kleen Kanteen Single Wall Stainless Wide Mouth 64oz Water Bottles. I have two 64oz bottles and two Maxpedition 12" x 5" large water bottle pouches. I just need a pot to nest on the 64oz bottle and fit in the Maxpedition Pouch. Ideally, to be able to fit two pots (top and bottom) over one water bottle and still fit it all in the pouch. Handles on the pot is not necessary but would be nice.
I know of ones that work for the pathfinder 64 ounce but I think I heard the dimensions were different for other 2 liter bottles. (Talking about the 40 oz pathfinder cup and the pathfinder french press with the inside elsewhere.)
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to do this with my Grayl and Stanley cup. I’ve been using the little aluminum GSI cup. I love the Stanley cups. You’re awesome sir. 😀👍✝️
Blackie, Always thinking and finding ways to make things easier and better in the outdoors to Smooth It and Take it Easy ,more enjoyable . Thanks Again Sir .God Bless Y'all You and Mrs. Blackie.
prefer the older set too the newer one. nice cover on the new lid. that is about the only thing i like with the new set. i store 2 - 4oz fuel cans in my old one along with a pocket rocket stove. was watching a different channel do a review of the new one. all i saw was wasted storage space with the new pot. the lid is better.
Great show and tell. Can't get that item in the UK at the moment. Stanley UK can't say when it is going to be available. BEWARE FOLKS ,loads of scam sites out there offering this item, as lots of folk are trying to get hold of them.
Blackie, I am an old fart like you. I am also a big fan of yours and waypoint survival. I like your approaches to survival. I told my grandson, it's using what you have around you, that will make the difference in a survival situation. When we camp, fish and hunt we need to keep in practice of these skills. Please let me know how the plastic on the lid top holds out. I am very curious about it. Thanks and thanks for your channel
Good morning Sir. Your cooking series are fantastic. I have practiced many of your recipes at home with PF gear. Learning a lot. Couple of questions, when do you offer your campfire cooking classes and are you a instructor at the Pathfinder School ? Love all of your videos. Rick from Rochester NY.
Good to know! Seem like I missed the boat on the Stanley 2 cup cook sets here in Canada.... any cook set I can get locally is for families of 6 unless I want the 2 cup set for 100$ (!?) At least I was able to get a couple of SRO sets (that do not fit the Geopress) at a great price from Canadian distributors. Funny, the small guy made it where large guys couldn't and I kinda prefer the option of being able to get gear from someone who inspires us all.
Pathfinder makes a cup and lid especially made for the Grayl Geopress that is a 30 ounce cup called the Pathfinder Geopress nesting cup. I use them with all my Grayls and they work great and are a perfect fit.
Thanks for the video info. I saw that Amazon has the new Stanley wild fare set and other kits, also I bought cups , bowls and plates to upgrade other kits. Kinda pricey though.
I have the older Stanley set; its 3 cup capacity is just a tad bit small for some of the foods I cook -- not because of my hunger (2 cups of cooked food is really enough for me), but because of the "single serving" sizes of store bought rice or noodle sides.
Hi Blackie, greeting from Australia 🇦🇺, thank you for your time to make these videos,I have the cup and lid for the grayl from pathfinder, could you please let me what your thoughts about them . The Stanley looks great.
Hi Mr. Blackie thank you so much! I did purchase the GRAYL Titanium with an extra filter, I’m still crying!! 😂 will the titanium hold up better than the stainless steel cups? Also, purchased the 2 quart canteen collapsible from Dave Canterburys Etsy store, I’m heading to the woods soon with my boys, Groot and Fenris, they’re Great Danes and hoping the titanium will hold up! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge, you’re the best Mr. Blackie!! 👍🏽💯❤️🇺🇸 from Washington state!
I guess I'm old School !!!..... I have have the original 2 cup Stanley and removed 1 cup to store all my needed gear..... I keep an alcohol stove in there rather than gas to make it more self contained and not rely on the gas canisters ( I have one for long 3 day hikes) ....... Im 65 and really hated trading in my old mess kit for this stanley because I then had to add an 8" stanley frypan kit and ozark trail stainless cup to complete it out ........ I like it but no need for the latest or to keep up with the jones ....I just want to be able to sit , make coffee and eat out there plus keep my pack weight within reason while doing it !!!!

I got my original set from Walmart. I guess I’ll have to keep taking my money there. 😅
They will change their tone when Stanley releases their updated version 😊
REI has always been a sissy arse chain, anyway.
Our local walmart doesn't carry anything Stanley in the camping section. Only Ozark Trail stuff. Some of its good.
I picked up two. One at my local REI, and another shipped free to my house with an on-line purchase about two weeks ago.
I've got a similar pot to old stanley and it fits inside 'ikea hobo stove'
Love my grayl..great piece of equipment

Keep these great videos coming, we look forward to them..

I really want to try this kit, it sure is popular, and it works!
But I just can't give up my 3pc. West German mess kit.
I was wondering if upgrading on this was worth it. Looks like a yes. Thanks Nlackie

Unfortunately REI is now out of stock I was told by many of my viewers...Stanley has them featured on their website but none in stock as of yet...

This was great! Thanks Blackie!
Looks like a nice system, thank you for sharing Blackie.
Good stuff, Appreciate you Blackie.
I got a no name nested cookset 1L pot and nested cup from Aliexpress for less than $15.
Thanks Blackie 👍

Nice, compact cook set. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks, Blackie. If that had a bail on it, would it be more or less what they would've called a mucket during the War?
