I should be making about 700-800 hp this year in mine!! Parts will be in next weekend 1000hp forged rotating assembly stage 3 mhs heads stage 2 turbo mhs cams. Some bbk bolt ons and a t56 mag transmission hopefully will be able to twin t76 turbo it this year my man sub up for some content!! Ps had the t45 transmission last year was solid asf ended up spinning the bearing after about a year of solid abuse also threw spark plug on driver side so said f it I got the money let's send it. I'll bee looking into suspension soon for an 01 vic p71 with the mods listed above if anyone has any ideas.

Had a 2005. Mine was a police interceptor one. So it had great suspension etc. Some say there faster when there police interceptor vs standard crown vics. But there the same I'm power range imo. There Basically just a crown vic that's got better suspension and them type upgrades. Made more durable for police. Now I would have loved a mercury marauder. There beast and have the best look for the crown vic bubble style. And I think them Mercury marauders had some manual models???
The only real difference between the p71/p7b to the normal crown Vic/grand marquis etc is rear end gearing and I’m not sure if the non interceptor ones had a speed limiter but my p7b does not have one
The police interceptors we're just a hair faster than the stock crown vics due to the higher and firmer shift points on the transmission and the all aluminum drive shaft helped cut some weight too.

The main factor is going to be price a police interceptor crown Vic can be had from 2k to 6k a Lincoln town car will cost you 12kplus with higher mileage to start to do the things he said you can easily hit 20 grand with car and upgrades versus a crown Vic where you going to save because the Vic is going to be cheaper and you can have more upgrades with the power and still do it for under 20K

I bought one a few years back a 2003 before all car prices went crazy and I paid 3500 for an immaculate one. My boy just bought a black crown vic and he paid like 7800. I guarantee if you look you can get one for the exact same price. Or less.

For transmission at least with the stock auto. A lokar shifter or hurst, something similar. Would help sinc e it allows for gear selection.

Sadly I had to give up my vic at 208k, she just wasn't taken care by previous owners. If I get another, I might look into this stuff

A continental engine won’t work in a town car as the engine mount brackets are totally different
T5 will not match blocks bolt pattern. T5 is 302 351, pushrods.
You could easily use a modular specific bell housing on a t5
