Howard, not demeaning you here. Sure you're a bright guy.
But Jordan Peterson is a pseudo intellectual. So you hear me out, let me say there are loads of people I disagree with who I don't call pseudo intellectual. Sam Harris for example, sometimes Joe Rogan, sometimes Dan Dennett and Richard Dawkins. Disagree with all these guys sometimes but they're not pseudo-intellectual in my view
Jordan Peterson just doesn't display the specific, focused reading and comprehension and logic skills one would expect of someone who gets paid to talk about a topic.
For example, he did a talk on socialism. He hadn't even read Das Capital! He read the Communist Manifesto. That's like lecturing on Christianity and not reading the Bible! He describes the Soviet Union as socialist. It couldn't be further from socialism. Everyone knows this who examines socialism for two minutes.
He calls himself an evolutionary biologist. PZ Myers is a Professor of Biology. He can't believe the silly statements JP makes about biology. He says they are just scientifically illiterate. He says there is absolutely nothing in his credentials or his work that makes him an evolutionary biologist. Just flat out fantasy!
The guy is a clown. He's making money. Good for him. I don't mind a clown making money, as long as he's known as a clown.

first time I hear of him was a story of him entering a 100 mile race and completig it with broken bones in his feet and ending up in hospital. My first thought was a Navy seal Should have been more prepared and I thought it was a bit of a dumb thing to do and he should of known better. I later learned more about the man and came to realise why it was badass

Had the same thing. I wonder who his Doc was? I had 3 strokes from it and 2 surgeries. My patch was 30mm. It's crushing. Felt like a slug because of the rehab time. Hearing how it affected Him let me know Im on track..He's a monster. Just have to keep pushing! "A man who requires to be motivated is not worth the motivation"

I get into ruts and stints of motivation where I’m either extremely depressed and inactive or super motivated and working out like a mad man so I know I have it in me to get off my ass and get to work and people like david really make you feel like a whiny baby when looking at the shit he went through and is working harder than 99% of the world but I think my biggest issue is consistency and staying in a positive path long term as I always start off strong and it’s like I hit a plateau that depletes my confidence. Hopefully I can figure it out one day and be someone like David and Joe, both successful and healthy/fit.

The fucking adversities that this man has been through is so damn inspiring. When I get depressed, I go to a deep dark place where nothing in the world seems worth it anymore. I would completely lose faith in humanity and the world. But this man shows me that that is just a bunch of self-serving bull shit. He shows me that man can be great and good. That I'm my worst and only enemy. I've seen myself be the lowest I could ever think humanity could get and I've seen myself do great things. I want to be the latter
