- Hello and welcome to Train Simulator Classic!
Today we're going to be taking a drive on the Portsmouth Direct Updated v1.4 on one of the scenarios which comes included with the route. We're going to be driving a Class 707 from Norbiton through to London Waterloo on a service which originated from Shepperton.
I personally cannot get enough of the Class 707, it's really great to drive and today is no exception. The route is somewhat laggy but this could well be due to the sheer volume of traffic we see en route. It's certainly not a boring drive!

As a person that takes trains to and from Waterloo and norbiton frequently I can confirm that this is exactly what the route (more or less) looks like

29:04 I can confirm those platforms on the left side called the WIT (Waterloo International Terminal) which formerly housed Eurostar are now platforms 20-24 and are usually the Reading and Windsor Line and STILL in use.. oh yes! 😊
I live in new Malden. The station and the surrounding environment in this game are very accurate, especially the track between new Malden station and the level crossing

Massively appreciate you playing my route, and I'm glad you enjoyed. I'll now comment on a few of the things you mentioned in the video.
Firstly, yes, all SWR services do indeed have guards. This is something I need to change in this scenario for the future. Thanks also for pointing out the slight error in the manual with the Aventra Class 378 reskins not being linked, I'll get that sorted too.
Secondly, on this day, Southern and GX services were actually diverted to London Bridge in real life, hence the lack of Southern and GX AI at Clapham Junction. In my other scenarios, Clapham Junction is absolutely rammed with AI. 😅
One more thing to mention, V1.4 of this route extends the route down to Alton via the SWML from Woking and via the North Downs Line from Guildford. This extension is actually my local line hence why it's the first extension I've done haha.
Anyways once again I appreciate you making a video of the route, and I also appreciate the feedback as it helps to improve the route for everyone.

Great to hear from you, I really like the route, and to be honest with you it’s probably not a bad thing that the southerns were on diversion or my PC might explode haha!
I’ll have to give the Alton line a bash, I haven’t tried it yet so that’s something for later, can you recommend a scenario to drive on the line?
Also, can you please alter your GWR 158 scenario as because you’ve left the timings in there’s absolutely no way of attaining a tick on the menu for completing it… and this makes me want to cry 🤣🤣😭😭

@@JoeDobsongaming For the Alton line I'd recommend 1A29 Waterloo to Alton. Regarding the 158 scenario, the only issue is that these timings are rather necessary because if I were to remove/edit them, AI would take priority over the player train in some circumstances which is unrealistic as late trains should always get priority. I understand the annoyance of the lack of ticks but it's either that or have the scenario broken 🤷♀
The old Eurostar terminal is used for outer suburban services by the class 450 and 458
The former eurostar platforms were reopened in 2019 there now numbered 20-24 and generally used for the waterloo-reading services

25:19 no joe that wasnt the emirates airline thingy. If it was, that would be a mistake because that direction for areas like elephant and castle, stockwell etc
Cable cars are on the other side of London in the east, which funnily enough im going to a hotel right outside it in an hour lol
I live in the fratton area and they definatly do have guards on south western railway services
Super video, makes me want to download all these enhancements... but no, that was not the Emirates Cable car! Not visible at all from Vauxhall, that was just a crane...
Im a guard for SWR and we sign this route and traction and work the Shepperton trains daily and correct, all services have a guard.
The old international side at Waterloo is used mainly by the Windsor/Reading services
The route to Alton has been added/built
Yes there are Guards on SWR plus Norbiton is my local Station!
Is there a line that goes from woking to london waterloo calling at walton on theams etc

Great video joe I have not tried the route yet but i am going to check it out I think you are getting bad lag because off the amount of trains running mine sometimes dose it .but it looks so good with all the stock we love good train sim 😂😂 Train sim has run out off memory since the update my F12 screen shot kea not working two ??
Maybe they’ve turned the F12 off, but it’s still working with other games so it’s a bit bizarre haha
