The well-rounded Diesel Workshop RS3 went into the G-trax 'Boston & Albany' route which recently released for train simulator juuuuuust fine - but then (the devs of route) needlessly borked it...
Why?
Regarding editing scenarios: avoid playing a scenario straight out of the editor, i.e. clicking the big "Play" arrow in the editor and playing straight away. When the scenario starts, press ESC to exit the scenario, and replay afterward. This will allow the game to load all of the world rules correctly in a fresh start, to ensure that everything works as it should. If you play the scenario straight out of the editor, the game will not behave properly, like signals and /or the AI won't work properly, etc.
I had no idea that the game crashing happened to everyone I just thought I messed up the game
Diesel Workshops also made the EMD G12, whose New Zealand variant is pretty decent (though it's by no means an advanced locomotive). For reference, we know the G12 as the 'DA' class, and they're pretty cool irl.
Regarding the lights, I hate how so many locomotives in this game have insanely bright lights (even during daytime). The units in Armstrong Powerhouse's enhancement packs (like the Class 170) don't have this issue. The light textures on their Class 37 are very good, especially when compared to the RS-3 bundled with the B&A route.
If this is how DW's stuff is going to be treated for Steam releases, I reckon he should stick to selling his engines exclusively on his website. And when you said "Jeopardy music intensifies" it reminded me of Weird Al's Greg Khin Band parody (I Lost On Jeopardy).
If I ever get the B&A route, it'll be so I can have some NYC territory for the J3A

I should mention, there seems to be no way of fixing the B&A RS-3 without rescripting. Whatever G Trax or Mike did, it made it impossible to change the scripts to another version of the RS-3 scripts. I made Attempts to fix it using other scripts from each version of the RS-3, and the re released NYC ones. NOTHING. They fucked up the RS-3 so much, that it can’t even identify other scripts :p.
It works for me to replace the bin files in Engine folder with the versions which contain " - Kopie". These must be referencing the original files from DieselWorkshop.
Never a dull moment for the fine folks at DW. Well done on the investigative reporting Schnauza. I've been away from the interweb for a spell so this is my first foray back from exile. Nice to see you doing some tutorial stuff. I have often thought you would be good at it.

Perhaps you were correct in that the lights were changed to improve frame rate.
Personally I do not think G-Trax is responsible for the locomotive changes. I believe they are working with what DTG handed to them or made the changes per DTG's instructions. DTG should be the one that secured the right to use the locomotive and then handed it G-Trax. DTG probably changed the lights to ensure the route runs on a PC that meets the minimum specifications.
It looks like the lights work as intended now, thought the headlight still doesn't look as good.
I've been trying to get a hold of these guys to revive my link to my SD-38 which had to be re-installed -- mailed Fernando at least three times with no response between email, and Facebook Messenger. Not sure why this is -- but buyer beware these guys sometime are not responsive as billed.
Just bought the RGS route, scenery looks decent, K27 has an obvious looping whistle, headlights seem to be buggy, engine has mechanical stoker sounds, definitely not accurate, fireman seems to always be on

The annoying thing with this, I guess I am picky with it, for the heavyweight cars, they used DTM superliner sounds from the P40 pack, I am not fond of those sounds
Right, i thought they sounded diff. Its not great but better than the reeeally old sound of the heavy weights which sounds like rolling somthing down a wooden dock. These new ones have no fade either, they're just on/off

Yeah they done fucked some shit up again. I honestly think Diesel Workshop and G-Trax should have not even bothered with DTG on this. They should have just released the route separately from the Steam Store, while still retaining the original price. I know that mistakes can be made, but how many times has shit like this happened? Shit, remember the EMD F3 dlc shitshow? DTM swore it was an accident or some shit happened with his PC, but I find that hard to believe considering he always has a garbage excuse for why his dlcs are always shitty and lack quality.
Its so fucked up that they did Diesel Workshop like that. Its total bullshit.
Totally gonna buy the proper NYC pack.

in all honesty, I don't understand why devs always downgrade stuff. Its like your product must be shitty in order for it to be sold.
