I think you just hold the throttle full while plugging in the buggy. Wait for a couple beeps and let go of the throttle. Bob's your uncle.
I have the original version and it has lasted great for a couple years now. Real metal differentials are wayyy better than the WLtoys competition. I’d love to get one of these and try it out. I love my old FY-03! Insanely tough and cheap.

It's a twin hammers copy, shouldn't be anything traxxas plus traxxas didn't invent cantalivers
Twinhammers is 10th not 12th the 10428 is almost a direct copy of the twin hammers.

David Gamero I know but traxxas sued arrma because the Nero used a similar shock setup as the revo . I lost some respect for them after that especially because tamiya was using cantilever suspension in the 80’s

put 2 round neoprene/rubber servo grommets on a small screwdriver shaft, carefully slice out smaller center tube section with a hobby knife, you have your 4 oil seals for the shocks.
mount flat side up, tighten threaded lower cups that hold them in just decently finger snug. 30wt in rears, about 80wt for the fronts (shorter with heavier springs), it won't bounce after.

Here in california those desert buggys are call "Ultra Four's" they race in the hardest 24 hours offroad race in the world called King of the Hammers here in Johnson valley california they are built for extreme rock crawling and high speed 100mph + on open desert.
I just tried telling that to someone who claimed all these brands are copying the vaterra twin hammers. They don't understand that twin hammers is the name of a race and vaterra copied those vehicles used in that race they didn't invent this style of rig. Just like I always have to tell people that traxxas took the portal idea.feom real life 1/1 crawlers lol Traxxas didn't invent portals.
The esc is actually calibrated, it's just the controller have a limit, there's a key included in the box. What you just did is you just limited your throttle resolution.
I want one of these! I'm planning on putting a 550 size crawler motor in and some 2.2 Mudslingers!

you can fill the shocks with oil but need plumbers tape and some little orings in a few places. it does help the car perform

@Kevin Talbot the only issue i see with this for US buyers is it only seems to come with a EU style plug, so we would need a adapter i am guessing? Thanks for the reviews I am getting back in to RC and i figure start off budget so these vids are helping a lot

Kevin I saw a video on the Smax where they submerged the truck in a fish tank and ran it. Crazy!! I checked out some videos and it didn't look bad at all. Looks fast and durable. So I ordered one. Received it today. Great looking machine. Fast too for it's size. Check it out sometime 😁👍
It actually has metal shafts and stuff too and I've heard you can go brushless with them lol, I want the kit version just to mess around with.

Kevin, do you happen to have the part number for the 2S LiPo battery you used? Would you recommend running it in the WL12428. Just got my WL because of wathcing you channel and love it, thank you. But of course looking to get more batteries and figure going 2S LiPo would be the best bet. Enjoining the vids keep em coming new to the RC hobby

Alittle update, i actually have the gizmovine 1/12 desert eagle in green fy07 and although it basically has all the same parts, its way different, PS: Take off the rear spare tire for better cornering and with that less weigh you can control it “drifting” way better
They are nifty little things for the money. The motor is a little puny for slow crawling but it does everything else well and sounds cool.
Outrunners traditionally have more torque but seeing as this one is the size of a 280 brushed motor it's a miracle it works as well as it does! A brushed 280 in this truck would literally burn out in seconds. I had the same motor in my FY06, I switched to a 540 eventually for the better low down torque but the little outrunner is doing a great job in a 2WD buggy now!
Chinese stuff is getting really good. I could just hear people's teeth gritting when you called it hobby grade but that's exactly what it is. It's more capable, better specced and designed in many ways than an entry level Tamiya or Kyosho.
Lol I paid a few days ago about 55 pounds for a quite toyish RC and while you can get this level of RC for so cheap... Keep up the good work Kev and have a Happy New Year :)

@Mr Dosh I got it yesterday! Its a beauty! No harm at roll overs! The metal shell parts are protected by all 5 wheels and the light frame on top of the shell!

Do you have a 10th scale outback? I have a barrage 12th scale and I know they are similar I was just wondering if the 10th scale is actually 10th scale. I had a trx4 and a scx10ii and I sold them both when I got my barrage gen2 I love it that much lol.

Kev, I have asked this before. I am in the UK and weary of buying from far east , don't want to buy a "£50" car then get hit with high import/duty/vat etc. Can you give us UKers a idea of costs.

I always enjoy seeing new stuff like that. You might be able to stop the one front tire from lifting up on take off if you put thicker fluid and stiffer shock spring on that corner
the spring collars are threaded, can spin it down for more pre-load.

Traxxas is great for parts quickly if/when you break stuff (in US especially), but as hobby companies go they're known to be "legal bullies" A LOT, when they used to be the biggest copycat manufacturer on the darn planet, so I have mixed feelings about them. will definitely say their products ARE pretty good tho.

When you go brushless on the a959 use a traxxas latrax reciever it has a short antennae
It also has no range at all lol
Tactic has no antenna imagine that lol, that's what I would use and has insane range.
Hi Kevin thinking of getting one of these Feiyue FY03H! Are the brushed and brushless the same apart from the motor and esc? Because they also do a brushless motor and esc upgrade for it and was thinking of getting the cheaper brushed and converting it to brushless with the upgrade kit! Thanks
