YES. YES. FINALLY WE GOT TO STONEHENGE. FINALLY WE GOT THE ERASER ERASER USED. YES. I CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT ANOTHER EB FACT. The Pencil Eraser and the Eraser Eraser are easily my favourite key items in the whole game just because they have puns out the ass associated with them. Of course, the English version puns are obvious - pencil eraser (pencils have erasers on the end) and eraser eraser (you know), which go hand-in-hand. But the Japanese version does it even better (in my opinion at least). The iron pencil statues in the Japanese version are actually octopus statues, as Chugga mentioned back when we first saw them (I think). The Japanese word for octopus is "tako," while the japanese word for eraser is "keshi." So Apple Kid gives you the "Octopus Erasing Machine" in order to get rid of them, which is shortened to "takokeshi" to combine the words. Standard stuff right there, especially in Japan where combining words together to describe objects like this is commonplace (see the Famicom [family computer] as another example of this). However, the iron eraser statue in the Japanese version is actually an iron statue that resembles traditional wooden dolls called "kokeshi." This is where the puns come in - the "takokeshi" that was used earlier in the game not only means "octopus eraser," but it also has the word "kokeshi" in it, to reference the other statue found later in the game. The item you get to destroy the iron kokeshi statue is the "Kokeshi Erasing Machine," or "kokeshi-keshi," whose pun speaks for itself. Frankly, I think this is pure genius, and I only wish the English language had a way to carry it over in the same vein. The ones that we got, however, are perfectly fine and definitely do a better job of resonating with an English-speaking audience.
So, another interesting thing from that translation book: apparently starman Jr. was a hired assassin. It's interesting because I was always under the assumption they just were a main actual part of giygas' army. While maybe starman Jr. is somehow seperate, the implication that starmen might not be a natural part of giygas' forces is interesting to me. Also, that the mooks in the japanese version have names based on specifically one variety of mook in earthbound begginings I would see I learned the popular greek letters via Sonic, but I'm pretty sure I never payed attention to those symbols and just went with E-102 in my head.

I have always loved the alien theme in this game, it just makes everything feel more mysterious. On a related note, the alien music that plays in some enemy battles is my 2nd favorite music in the game.

18:54 this is the biggest flaw with Poo's tastes, they're all 6 HP, I feel it would be better if food had varying unpredictable recovery for poo, like for example he doesn't like a Double Burger and only recovers 1/4 times the HP Ness gets, but when he tries out Pizza for the first time, he really likes that and recover 1 and 1/2 times the HP that ness gets. The fact that it's all 6 HP makes this a nuisance and not the cool novelty and bit of realism it was supposed to be.
Stonehenge is fun to theorize about. But the actual place is pretty lame... Go there once, its definitely worth it,and probably don't go back. Living within a few hours of it, I know enough.
God I REALLY like the idea behind the Atomic Power Robo. Normally, you want to kill the healer first, but this one acts in such a way that doing so isn't the optimal strategy. You need to power through the front lines and then finish it off, and that's pretty unique for an RPG enemy!

I'm 90% convinced that Chuggaa's version of EarthBound (or let's face it, games in general) is sentient. Every time he talk any amount of smack about his foes, they immediately make him eat his words. (Also, I didn't get the thing from this area yet. Starting to get worried about my lead. lol)
This also is a great way to debunk the theory that Poo is just a psychic manifestation of the three other kids. That and his country being a place they can visit.
IMO I think the Sword of Kings is the only ultimate weapon worth getting, because its not just the ultimate weapon for Poo but its the only weapon Poo can equipped and also if it takes you a long time to get it you'll be grinding levels a lot and you'll have all the PSI moves like I did. The Gaia Beam it is powerful but if you rely on items such as the Heavy Bazooka and Multi Bottle Rockets its really not needed. The Magic Frying Pan its kinda bad all it does good is +100 Guts but it misses 25% of the time and the Holy frying pan has 30 more offense. As for the Gutsy Bat well you get it from a rare enemy and its just two rooms away from the final boss, and I just don't think its worth it.
chugga the starman family can be incredibly dangerous if you're going item hunting because they can raise your blood pressure to where you have a blood vessel explode

Anyone curious about Stonehenge? I don’t know how well this is known outside of the UK but a leading theory here is that Stonehenge may have been some form of large scale sundial to put it in a simple term. Because of its positioning and because of the way the sun would reflect off the rocks it’s believed it could’ve been a larger Sundale for uses in ways of worship or celebration. I may be getting some facts wrong here though I heard this snippet over 10 years ago, but it’s stuck with me ever since.
11:00 Can confirm, enemies don't get saved from mortal damage, so the Starman's sudden guts pill would only increase its Smash chance, which is completely useless since it never does physical moves. It's basically a waste of a turn buffing a stat.
+chuggaaconroy I actually had a friend in elementary school who didn't like pizza. Well it was more like he felt physically disgusted by it and made him queasy. He was fine as long as it was not in front of him. Not sure if he got over it but I did meet with him again after my highschool friend happened to make friends with him in college. We had met at my other friend's family owned pizza shop and I never bothered to ask.
I had an aunt who would always describe it as looking like"someone barfed on some bread", which is just a really rude thing to do around people who are eating. And most food looks like barf if you look at it with the wrong mindset.
Other great options to mirror, any enemy that can diamondize. If an enemy gets diamondized it will still give the exp. points and will also be effectively removed from the battle instantly

Soooo, I thought up an idea on how to help Poo be more useful as a party member, now understand, this is just from what I have seen, I have not played the game myself, so feel free to correct me if my idea is bad. Basically, I thought about making Poo more of a, hit the enemies with basic attacks instead of a combo of Ness and Paule, basically, his basic attacks do like, around 1.5 his attack stat without a weapon, so he's more of a brute, add to that, he is one of the faster members, only should be outsped by Paula I think he also does something that (I think, I have missed some recent episodes) no one else does, which is buff stats, he can buff his attack, defense, or speed with Alpha versions, buff him and one party member with beta and have the buff be stronger, and with omega, buff the entire party, he can still learn lifeup and the other PSI stuff he learns, but That's the main thing, also, instead of mirror, his unique command, should be either focus, or meditate (different name same thing), he basically makes it so that, if he gets knocked down to 0, he can live until he takes damage again, consecutive uses of this lower success rate (starting at 100 and dropping by 25 per use, and each turn not used increases the rate by 10), this can help in reviving, healing, defeating enemies or other stuff, and if the battle ends and he's in this state, he'll have 1 hp after the battle. Once again, my idea, maybe it doesn't work, maybe it's genius, I dunno, feel free to critique the idea.
I see, like I said, i'm no Earthbound Efficianado, so I didn't understand that apparently Poo has high guts. I was wondering if this even was a good idea and if it would fix anything, clearly doesn't make Poo that much more useful when compared to the others, but eh, whatever, it was just me throwing an idea out there.

I'm actually scared of the Atomic Power Robot, just because of a certain glitch that messes up the game, once he explodes. I don't know if it happens during a group battle with it or not, but I always prefer to destroy him last.
I hope Chuggaaconroy is able to score the Sword of Kings like he did in the original LP. I think it might be best to show off the ultimate weapons each character has.

Otacon464 true, the problem is if you stock up a ton on items, you can only have Escargo Express hold so much. I've actually ran out of space from stocking up PP recovery items
Regarding 19:00 ... If you eat a very limited/strict diet for a long time, anything far outside of that diet will likely give you digestive problems. Not only does Poo come from a fairly isolated place (Dalaam is freaking _sky island,_ after all), but he might have been on a strict diet as part of his martial arts training (that part is just speculation, though). Basically, it makes sense that pizza - something _very_ different from what Poo would have been eating in his homeland - might give him some stomach trouble and thus not really heal him very much. (I could make a poop joke - y'know, a guy named "Poo" having digestive issues - but it's bad enough that the poor guy has to trade a golden throne for a porcelain one.)
I once made the silly attempt to have poo to turn into the kracken on the trip to scaraba, and it worked. I've only got it to happen once, but it was hilarious to watch poo boil the boss into soup with firebreath.

IMO I think the Sword of Kings is the only ultimate weapon worth getting, because its not just the ultimate weapon for Poo but its the only weapon Poo can equipped and also if it takes you a long time to get it you'll be grinding levels a lot and you'll have all the PSI moves like I did. The Gaia Beam it is powerful but if you rely on items such as the Heavy Bazooka and Multi Bottle Rockets its really not needed. The Magic Frying Pan its kinda bad all it does good is +100 Guts but it misses 25% of the time and the Holy frying pan has 30 more offense. As for the Gutsy Bat well you get it from a rare enemy and its just two rooms away from the final boss, and I just don't think its worth it.

Speaking of stories making use of real world conspiracy theories and such, I really love how the Science Adventures series (Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, Robotics;Notes, etc) writes conspiracy theories into their stories, like S;G making use of John Titor.

Anyone curious about Stonehenge? I don’t know how well this is known outside of the UK but a leading theory here is that Stonehenge may have been some form of large scale sundial to put it in a simple term. Because of its positioning and because of the way the sun would reflect off the rocks it’s believed it could’ve been a larger Sundale for uses in ways of worship or celebration. I may be getting some facts wrong here though I heard this snippet over 10 years ago, but it’s stuck with me ever since.
11:00 Can confirm, enemies don't get saved from mortal damage, so the Starman's sudden guts pill would only increase its Smash chance, which is completely useless since it never does physical moves. It's basically a waste of a turn buffing a stat.

I actually had a friend in elementary school who didn't like pizza. Well it was more like he felt physically disgusted by it and made him queasy. He was fine as long as it was not in front of him. Not sure if he got over it but I did meet with him again after my highschool friend happened to make friends with him in college. We had met at my other friend's family owned pizza shop and I never bothered to ask.
I had an aunt who would always describe it as looking like"someone barfed on some bread", which is just a really rude thing to do around people who are eating. And most food looks like barf if you look at it with the wrong mindset.
I got to this area and got homesick, so I go and fix that. I come back to Stonehenge. As soon as I got back, I got homesick again.
Other great options to mirror, any enemy that can diamondize. If an enemy gets diamondized it will still give the exp. points and will also be effectively removed from the battle instantly
Strong Crocodile with the Elder Batty looks likes one of those tiny dragons with the tiny wings kinda like Dragonite or Valoo and it's CUTE!

Soooo, I thought up an idea on how to help Poo be more useful as a party member, now understand, this is just from what I have seen, I have not played the game myself, so feel free to correct me if my idea is bad.
Basically, I thought about making Poo more of a, hit the enemies with basic attacks instead of a combo of Ness and Paule, basically, his basic attacks do like, around 1.5 his attack stat without a weapon, so he's more of a brute, add to that, he is one of the faster members, only should be outsped by Paula I think he also does something that (I think, I have missed some recent episodes) no one else does, which is buff stats, he can buff his attack, defense, or speed with Alpha versions, buff him and one party member with beta and have the buff be stronger, and with omega, buff the entire party, he can still learn lifeup and the other PSI stuff he learns, but That's the main thing, also, instead of mirror, his unique command, should be either focus, or meditate (different name same thing), he basically makes it so that, if he gets knocked down to 0, he can live until he takes damage again, consecutive uses of this lower success rate (starting at 100 and dropping by 25 per use, and each turn not used increases the rate by 10), this can help in reviving, healing, defeating enemies or other stuff, and if the battle ends and he's in this state, he'll have 1 hp after the battle.
Once again, my idea, maybe it doesn't work, maybe it's genius, I dunno, feel free to critique the idea.
I see, like I said, i'm no Earthbound Efficianado, so I didn't understand that apparently Poo has high guts. I was wondering if this even was a good idea and if it would fix anything, clearly doesn't make Poo that much more useful when compared to the others, but eh, whatever, it was just me throwing an idea out there.

If you eat a very limited/strict diet for a long time, anything far outside of that diet will likely give you digestive problems. Not only does Poo come from a fairly isolated place (Dalaam is freaking _sky island,_ after all), but he might have been on a strict diet as part of his martial arts training (that part is just speculation, though).
Basically, it makes sense that pizza - something _very_ different from what Poo would have been eating in his homeland - might give him some stomach trouble and thus not really heal him very much. (I could make a poop joke - y'know, a guy named "Poo" having digestive issues - but it's bad enough that the poor guy has to trade a golden throne for a porcelain one.)

I once made the silly attempt to have poo to turn into the kracken on the trip to scaraba, and it worked. I've only got it to happen once, but it was hilarious to watch poo boil the boss into soup with firebreath.
I actually got two brain food lunches in a row and thought the starmen had a high chance of dropping them.
