If there was a magic genie who could make ONE problem disappear in your life, what would it be? Comment below, and I might make a video to help you make that problem disappear.
only one tip: submit your resumé to another company, get a job offer and negotiate with your boss. If he doesnt increase your salary, accept the other offer. the success rate is higher when you are important for the company but don't you ever think that you are irreplaceable!
exactly. most managers don't even know what their employees are doing and contributing, let along CEO's. probably, unless you're working for a tiny company. for larger corporations, when managers report to the HRs for your pay increase, HR won't hesitate to limit your pay increase and lowball you. save yourself hessel, get another job and use that as leverage in negotiations. companies owe you nothing and you are definitely replaceable, at least most companies out there would agree so. unless, you are indeed irreplaceable, but in that case, why are you even working for someone? should you not be doing something else better for your life?
i feel you should just leave when offered a better position and more pay. your previous boss may accept your counter based on the competitor's offer to shut you up. and if it is a big jump, they will start quietly interview another person to replace you. and months later down the road, they will let you go. so better off to simply say to current employer "thanks so much for the offer but i have decided to move on" and best not to mention new employer's name.
I was one of the bottom performer in our company, earning the lowest and sometimes nothing, after watching DanLok last August, that same week, I increase my performance 5x and I earned my 1st CAD$2000 and this month I am running to CAD$2000 again. thank you Master Dan Lok, from the PHILIPPINES.
The best way to get a salary increase is to switch jobs. A normal salary increase is like what, 3% per half a year? I switched jobs and got a 23% increase in pay. Thanks Dan Lok for your incredible videos!
exactly unless the employer is a moral standup person, they will give you the asked raise and then lay you off once they find your replacement. its better to get raise and move on. and also don't tell current employer about new company unless you meet them down the road in a professional setting. don't bad mouth old employer to new employer as well. and it can as little as mentioning higher pay from new employer to old employer.

I was lucky I've found this video... its easier to understand, practical, informative, and what's best is giving employees insight to an employer's perspective.
Personally I never experience this, it sounds like they might be a bit tired of the conversation (porbably too long?) and want to close the deal, it sounds quite rude honestly, but without the context I can't think an honest answer.... It's typically how I close deals with people that caused me a lot of troubles.
if i have to show my value to current employer, i might as well look towards a new employer. my current employer should see value in the quality of work that i submit.

Oh this video so powerful, i already learned abt the employee and Human Resources point of views, but its the very first time to hear about the CEO point of view. After watching this video now i have more plan to increase my productivity and keep growing up, so ill be ready to ask to my boss to get more salary. Thankyou
thankyou for the good advice, just successfully negotiated a pay rise after a few years at the company, following completing training and becoming more valuable to the company, this was difficult as had to be done by text due to manager being away but your tips helped me to illustrate my worth without it turning into a conflict, tricky and walk away power i think was the clincher. nerve racking but worth it. thankyou for your help Dan
Thanks Dan, this is amazing advice. It seems like many employees are in a situation where their managers or 'leaders' are themselves not all that savvy, able to recognize the value in their employees, not in it for the company and are just skating by - how would an ambitious employee work with or navigate around such a manager/leader?
Spot on, but I suggest 1 tweak Dan.... at 8 minutes in the discussion asks the CEO how they feel about X-salary after hearing facts and data. I suggest making a statement on the salary justification followed by silence. Silence can also control a conversation. Love the Dan Lok channel!

my tip is dont care what your job is if you want your money have a plan B before going in then ask for a pay raise if they say no then just say you quit and go do another job. no matter what job you work if you working for a pay by an hour its always going to be too low. i jumped jobs 3 times last year and got a pay raise by 35k a year all within 1.5 years just jumping rather than waiting for a promotion.
How about at a company where the whole team is on the same salary, no matter the background experience or skill level? And the pay is pretty set in stone. It's a pretty good company so it's hard for people to say no to the company and they just take the lower pay.
I was lucky I've found this video... its easier to understand, practical, informative and what's best is giving employees a insight to an employers persective. Will be looking forward for more videos ^_^

commenting on point 7. what if the employer just said, we don't have a budget! Your answer was assuming that the job we are doing is sales, not all jobs can generate $$$ to use this argument.
Look at what equivalent salaries are in the local market, speak to specialist recruiters, look on job boards and then also check salary reviews, look at your achievements over and above the requirements of the role and run them through with your manager. With tangible information you can back up the discussion around an increase in wages. Good luck.
I've tried all this....the company just says no, we can't afford that, or they act like they can just get someone else to do it cheaper. Or they say, that's what the market says we should pay!
If you know your salary doesn't justify the value that you bring to the company, gtfo! Yeah, they might get some one who charge cheaper but of low quality results! Remember the saying, "you get what you pay for!"
During or after interview, if hiring manager says "we have few candidates that we are comparing among others, what's the lowest salary you would accept"? How do we answer that?
Best not to give an answer to that at the beginning as they are looking to eliminate you and you haven't built value in their eyes yet so best to delay the answer until the end of the process and you are open to working with their budget but couldn't give a figure until you know more about the position.
