I just discovered the Indomie mi goreng, I’ve become obsessed with this brand. I cook some mushrooms in a separate frying pan, add some dumplings and some onion, jalapeño pepper add a bit of PHO broth. Let that cook, get the noodles going. Just before the noodles are ready, I add the flavour packets to the stuff in the frying pan. Top up the pho broth a bit then when the noodles are ready they go in the frying pan to mix it all together. Add a fried egg to the top then top with green onions and some avocado and BAM a bowl of wickedness.
My Korean heart had an attack when he decided to go hot for the bibimmyeon…. I didn’t even know they give instructions saying it can be eaten hot. You should aaaaaabsolutely serve it cold.
If you like regular Shin ramen, try their vegetable version. It's the right amount of spice (not too much, not too little) and it's just so good with a splash of milk, melted cheese and vegetable toppings. My personal twist is adding stir fried tempeh on top, the texture and taste is that of pork crackling.
Shin Black is where it's at. Solid video. Shin Black has that extra 'bone broth bullion' which does lift the taste. Also adding fresh vegetables and hot pot (thin) pork or beef turns it into a serious meal. Love it
Never get tired eating the Mama noodle pork flavor since my childhood even snack it for afternoon . Or simple light lunch . Thanks for awesome videos !
The delicious Bibimen HAS to be be eaten cold, the taste it totally different cold and add sliced cucumbers!! and why did you not test the CurryMee white penang??? That's one of my top 5!!
I love the neoguri one of my faves. My favourites have to be the creamy buldak ones like the original carbonara, creamy carbonara and rose. The laksa ones are really good too and creamy. Indomie are always a good go to though. Unpopular opinion… I don’t like shim but my daughters love it.
Bibimmen is definitely better cold, with a little sausage on the side Indomie stir fry with veggies and beef is absolutely fantastic And samyang carbonara and jjang with extra cheese is my occasional guilty pleasure. Ramen is amazing
Shin Black is well worth the price. I just found out there's a Shin Gold (chicken) now, and I'm excited to try it. Also, sachet is pronounced "sa-shay".
7:06 i believe the instructions tell you to separate the soup is because you can eat it as dry version or put your preferable amount of soup OR you can just drink it as a soup. The soup definitely not for dipping the noodles. Also the noodle you having is not the type of noodle like zaru soba or tsukemen where you dip the plain unseasoned noodle into the sauce.
Love the Buldak Carbonara and the Nongshim Shin ramens! I prefer the Shin Black, but the price has gotten out of hand so I do the standard spicy Shin. I'll have the try some others I've not had before and give them a shot. Great video!!
Indo-Mie is my favorite, although I haven't tried a lot of different brands. Just now I added the left over Indian Butter Chicken with peas I had and it turned out very good. Indo-Mie is real hot and spicy just like I like it. Didn't even have to add my usual red pepper flakes. Thanks for showing us the different ones out there.
4:55 I've got a question about the directions, cause maybe I messed up somewhere. I followed them same as you did, but I found the noodles came out tasting bad like they weren't cooked enough. Cooking them in boiling water on the stove after that and they turned out great. The bowl I used was a microwave safe plastic, the covering was the metal lid to my saucepan. I'd consider trying it again in a ceramic bowl with a plate cover, but they tasted so good the second time I kinda don't wanna waste them. Also these aren't the cheapest, at least not how I buy them. I grab a 30-pack of Indomie off Amazon for $18, whereas the Mama noodles was a 24-pack for $27! Maybe I just got lucky finding a good seller for the Indomie.
for the bibimyeon, I highly recommend giving the noodles a wash with cold (icy) water and then add the sauce. Bibimyeon in general is meant to be eaten cold.
im always going to stay with my shin ramyun black, thats my favorite ramyun in the world, i wish i could stock up on it, but it's ridiculous that it's like $8 for 4 packages of noodles.
Neoguri is my goto brand, but i look for the sales. I add Ramen Toppings and egg to mine. I need to try the Buldak because the noodles look interesting.
la mian curry is literally my most favorite instant noodle, healthy noodle, ingredients are top tier (maltodextrin is the only bad one). you can get a pack of 4 at $3-4 per packet. totally worth it imo.
Nissan Oodles of Noodles was my first experience with ramen back in the 80's and I have been in love ever since. When he ate the noodles, then said they taste like "childhood" I thought the same thing! Oodles of Noodles got discontinued so I switched to Maruchan. Now I eat Mama noodles.
Nissin is what I grew up with too. And as I have next to zero spice tolerance (Nando's Lemon & Herb is too spicy for me), a lot of these noodles are off my shopping list. So it's Nissin or bust for me!
I can't believe you didn't review the ibumie Penang White Curry - that is one of the ones in your initial picture of noodle packages. It's probably better than the other noodles you reviewed. You also should have reviewed MyKuali Penang White Curry - that is amazing too. Also, you should try Ibumie Mi Goreng Kari (Curry) Kapitan - that is the best Ibumie noodle.
The king is Nissin Raoh Tonkotsu. The basic equivalent of hakata noodles with a rich broth. Add the egg and a few slices of chashu, and you've got restaurant quality.
Love this! I've been wanting to try other instant ramens, but always stop myself. Now I know what to look for. I watch you on Insta and just subscribed to this channel. Keep up the great work! 👍👍👍
Instant ramen doesn't expire, the date is there as a guideline as to when food might go bad. Even canned food has expiry dates but can be stored indefinitely.
Nissin beef favour was the one that I grew up on, the first instant noodles I remember eating when I was a little kid, until now when I make it for my nephew :) its a family tradition!
The indomie mi goreng pedas is the best by far. I eat it with some chicken, sautéed shallots, green onions and top it with chili crisp, it's incredible, but also is fucking awesome just accordign to package instructions too
That Mi Goreng and Shin Black with Beef Bone Broth hits, so does the Buldak Carbonara, I suggest to put heavy cream, it makes it tons creamier and tones down the spiciness. Thank you, I enjoyed the video :)
I want to announce my love for Ansungtangmyun, Sugokimyun (smoky beef and tomato) and also the OG 'Samyang' spicy ramen (in the orange pack) and I was chuffed by your inclusion of Bibimen (of course with matchstick cucumbers and baby plum tomatoes on top eaten with a cold can of beer on the side). 🍜🍺😋
This was good info for someone like me, who didn't know there were so many different types of ramen available now (I'm not really surprised Maruchan, the flavor of my childhood, didn't make the cut). But your pronunciation of "sachet" was a tad jarring. Now go to see where I can buy Shin Black...
Aww man...for Prima Taste, it's the LAKSA one you wanna try. The curry one, is curry. Nothing special. The seafood and complex broth of the Laksa flavor is bomb. Also, if you liked Neoguri, try their stir-fry seafood version (it's dry). It's stupid good.
@@blacksnapper7684 Yeah, youre right. I've tried it now. And it's really very tasty, but the thing is, I do still like the original one better, because I do prefer the spice level that it has. That's what I was missing the most in the black version. And that's something that I would've never guessed, had I not tried the black version. So I'm glad I did. Greetings from Germany ✌️
I usually don't eat spicy and decided to try the Buldak I did not follow the instructions correctly and it was SUPER spicy, spicy to the point to make my nose water lol. I'll try less sauce for next time and really keep track of the water afterwards.
Mi goreng would have to be the first good instant noodle i tried, teaspoon of sriracha or ABC hot sauce + 1 teaspoon of peanut butter and omg!!! taste so good. All of Nongshim and Samyang make such good noodles and flavors though! One of my favs is any buldak noodles, with green onion, corn, kewpie mayo and cheese 😘😘
I agree with Shin, it’s such an unavoidable chosen one for guilty pleasure, but mie goreng at 5 ? It should be in top 3 for me. However, great video ! Glad you enjoy to be in the ramen realm 👏
Here those package contain two servings of ramen. You are supposed to break it in half. It unlike Japan with their dried vegetables included. In America you can’t find dried veggies to add to it only the bowls have it in
I’m glad you give 9 to Mama Tom Yum from Thailand. To me, if you buy the same noodles in Thailand, the flavor is so much better and spicier. That’s what I love. 😊
Sachets? Say that like Sas shey. Jin Ramen is supposed to be the most popular in Korea, but Neoguri is the one that's usually sold out. I won't waste money on Nissin or anything marked "Buldak".
Walmart sells a Ramen noodle co. Noodle kit. A red and a dark green package. With the green package, the broth had a milky beige color. With this kit, I boiled the broth, added green onion, thinly shaved garlic, added frozen pea's, adamame, slivered carrots, white pepper powder, a little sesame oil, AND thee most important ingredient. Thinly sliced RAW pork tenderloin that cooked in the broth along with the other ingredients. I may of added a small amount of Red Thai chili sauce.Thee absolute BEST Ramen noodles I have EVER tasted, by far. Note: I used a pre-marinated raw , vacuum packaged pork tenderloin. The marinade was teriyaki, and Garlic 🧄.One tenderloin makes ALOT of these Ramen noodle soups. Mmm Mmm GOOD 👍
I've eaten Bibimen both warm & cold and it definitely tastes better cold! You try it that way next time :)) Out of all these Jin Ramen is definitely my favorite, Nongshim black is definitely a close second for me tho!
I personally have a couple of favourites which haven't been shown in the video, but my top fav are tomato soup from amino but made into stir-fry - it's very cheap and one of the least popular in Poland, but for some reason I always loved it and it's my childhood, this is my guilty pleasure. Next one is chapagetti black bean noodles, another weird one I guess, most people I spoke to did not like those and, sure, they're nothing compared to the real thing, but it satisfy my craving for jjajangmyeon and umami and I absolutely texture of the noodles. Next is spicy stir-fry from mi-goreng, it's just amazing, not spicy enough for me, but I could have it 24/7 and would never mind. Finally, Baijia A'Kuan Sweet and Spicy udon noodles, the ones with panda on the packaging. I never ate better instant noodles than those. It's a bit of pain to find it, that's one problem, and a lot of spice packages (there's like 3 or 4) and it's a bit annoying having to add the packets one by one into already cooked noodles when you want to have it right then and there and you can't wait. I don't read chinese, so I don't even know what is written on the package, but I know they have a lot of different flavours and they are a little different, but there was only one flavour that I didn't really like which was very salty for some reason. Was a bit disappointed with that one, but otherwise, all the other flavors I tried where so good. I always look for them in the asian stores.
while i do want to try shin black from so many people raving about them, what I would like to know is if they are the closest to the real thing or not? any japanese restaurant in my location focuses on sushi, and since i don't have the funds to justify a trip to Japan anytime soon, I'm also looking for an instant ramen that comes closest to the real deal.
Ramen = noodle soup from Japan; Ramyeon = noodle soup from Korea; Laksa = noodle soup from Singapore. Indomie Goreng that presented here clearly is not ramen because Mi Kuah = noodle soup from Indonesia. So, it is safer to say those products are instant noodles. The way to cook ramen deliciously without being spicy is to set the amount of water to 700ml, put ramen and bean sprouts in boiling water, add eggs when the bean sprouts are cooked, boil them for 30 seconds, and then cut green onions and put them in a bowl to make delicious ramen.
