The shrimp noodle or VIFON is popular because it's cheap and it's actually the first instant noodle in Vietnam, especially for those born after the war until 2000s. Then, you started to have many new types and brands. It tastes good with beef, shrimp and boiled egg. By itself, you can make it tastes better by putting chilly sauce.
My family owns a restaurant. We usually sell Phở, Hủ tiếu, Bò kho you name it. For the omachi bò kho I feel like it's really better for you to out and buy a real bowl of bò kho. If I remember right Indomie Mi Goreng is the number one selling instant noodle overall for a long time. I find Vifon to be a solid brand where most of their stuff is good. The vifon paper packet noodles aren't good. The texture is terrible. The original miliket paper packets are much better, they have many variations too. Get the ones with chilli oil.
@@HoangPham-oc8pk yeah but it doesnt got that convenience like Hao Hao since the noodle before being cooked is pretty soft and the packaged seasoning need to be put in a bowl. Years ago ( round about 2005) we bought a packet of instant noodles when travelling around SW China. Those noodles passed through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand on their eay back to NZ. IT was only when we got home we found the exact same ones for sale in the Asian supermarkets. Talk about coal to Newcastle.
Honestly the black Raoh ramen is pretty good. It's almost comparable to restaurant ramen but 10 times cheaper. Restaurant ramen can set you back 150-200k, but this noodle pack is only 15k. Still fancy for the price of instant noodles, but the quality is undeniable.
Hao Hao is my personal favourite growing up in Vietnam, when i move abroad i crave Hao Hao so much because i can't buy them their even if i want to. Im the happiest kid when someone from group from Vietnam came over to the embassy here and drop of some supply from back home. We would split the noodle crate up so eat family get a few pack, because all the noodle we can get there is extremely meh. Now that im back in Vietnam, the new Siukay noodles (also from the same brand as Hao Hao) became my favourite because i love spicy nood, it a copy of the buldak spicy noodle, i prefer the vietnamese copy over the original but both are tasty. Siukay is usually 11-13k in most corner store and supermarket, about ~1/3 Buldak (30-33k) so there also a value incentive.
Indomie is a brand from Indonesia. They have carried out production in various countries and mixed spices to suit the taste buds of each country's residents with the basic spices that Indomie already has. And what's in the video and you review. This is a version of the concoction suited to the Vietnamese tongue. And that's the rib penyet variant, not the best. Maybe you should try the original variant straight away from the Indonesian version. It won't make you regret trying it. And i click this video because i saw Indomie at the Thumbnail 😂
I think you should go to any local "tạp hóa" and try every instant noodles from there. It's those one which is the most iconic for the cheap price and the Vietnamese nostalgia factors come in. If you dig Indomie, then please try to give Lucky Me brand a chance as well. It’s a pretty similar type of instant noodles but different flavor. And also, try Chapagetti as well. Totally different kind of noodles from anything that I’ve had before but still tasty. Anyway, thanks for the review! You have opened up my eyes to other brands of noodles that I’ve never tried before!
The one instant noodle that I keep coming back to is the Paldo Bibim Men Instant Cold Noodles (blue packaging). It's super easy and delicious to eat and doesn't feel like you are eating a bloc of fatty carby salt bomb.
That stuffs amazing, love it with some pork belly or thin beef brisket that’s been lightly fried, and matchstick sliced cucumbers, and hard boiled egg is super good too
10:22 Back in the old days the package was real paper 😂😂 So I guess it brings kinda nostalgic feelings, especially for older people. Its taste isn’t too good though. Fun fact: sometimes you hear Vietnamese calling instant noodles “mỳ tôm” (shrimp noodles). That word came from this very packaging that has 4 shrimps printed on it. It would have stayed the most popular instant noodles brand if it didn’t disappear for 20ish years.
Here in New Zealand Indomie is also very popular. Believe it or not it is like the paper wrapped noodle in Vietnam as many students survive on it. Anyway I feel like another reason it is so popular is because people don’t have access to all different types of Vietnamese noodles as you showed in this video so it just dominates. It somehow manages to get to most of the big supermarkets which makes it very accessible all. I myself am not really a fan as any Asian supermarkets would give me at least a dozen better options.
In my experience, the “Miliket” (arguably the OG paper package instant noodle) brand is better than Vifon, but thats not saying much 😂. The noodles are great with hotpot tho.
the Vifon paper package one is best for any kind of hotpot, or you can even try with "Gà tiềm ớt hiểm", "Bò kho" or "lẩu bò", it beats any other insta noodles due to its natural neutral flavor. Some places will first boil it once before bringing out to the customer to reduce its saltiness. So, I'd agree that if I were to choose, Vifon one is not the best comparing with the other ones, but its price is cost effective and it goes well the main hotpot course
About the "volcano" one, there's korean written that says 닭갈비 맛, which means Korean chicken rib flavour that is usually cooked with sweet-spicy sauce. So it doesn't really mean super spicy.
So no one gonna talk about how Chad just casually snuck in a tweezers to eat noodles with 😂 Brilliant distracted! Anyways so happy to see you in brand new studio. I've a sub-er for a while, really like your contents. Keep it going Chad! 💪💪
imo i think Hảo Hảo is kinda mid. As a Vietnamese, I like Cung Đình more (the normal yellow instant noodle type, not the phở ones), it uses liquid stock instead of powder, which makes the broth really nice and deep unlike the flat flavour that comes from the powdered seasonings of Hảo Hảo.

Usually for the Nissin spicy chicken noodles. I usually added a bit more chili sauce or hot sauce into the noodles, some peppers and add little bit protein like sausages or fried chicken.
Volcano noodles are for toddlers! There's heaps of actually spicy ones. Maybe next time you could do a taste testing video of the spiciest Instant noodles in the world like Samyang 3x, Daebak Ghost Pepper Noodles, Bulmawang Devil of Fire ramen and topping it off with Culley's World's Hottest Ramen Noodles (1.6 million SHU). Oh and also Indomie has such a vast array of flavours that are highly delicious, addictive and deserve more attention! Like Indomie Rendang, Aceh Goreng (my favourite), Cabe Ijo, Ayam Cabe Rawit, Satay, Sambal Matah, Sambal Rica, Coto Makassar just to name a few and all of these offer the taste of the province they originate from in Indonesia.
You have to try the original taste first before eating the flavor variants from Indomie, because the original taste of Indomie mie goreng (fried noodles) is the pinnacle of Indomie enjoyment, and and you are right that Indomie is famous in Malaysia but Indomie is from Indonesia😁❤️
Wow, thank you for making such an interesting video. I would like to provide more information about our native cuisine. In reality, we rarely eat it so simply. We usually prepare it with tomato sauce, garlic, and spices. Typically, Vietnamese people eat it with eggs, but not just any eggs; we use whole yolk eggs so they break and mix into the broth. If we have more time, we also add meat and seafood. That’s what makes a delicious bowl of noodles. Eating it simply like that would actually be hard for us to swallow :)))
Hao Hao is the best option. Hao Hao was so famous since 2000s. Vietnameses call it the national fast noodle. It is so cheap with only 4.000vnd to have it. Fast cooking only take you 3mins and about 300ml hot water to have a good meal. @@shimegawaren7692 If Mie Sedap was built by an Indonesian company, why is it called Mie Sedap? We thought it was from Malaysia. Plus, the product is always available in Malaysian minimarkets. Even on the side of the road, there are sellers of Mie Sedap cooked with a mixture of sambal and fried onions and eggs for 7 Ringgit?
Penyet in Javanese, are you not mistaken? Maybe you are mistaken, penyet is a traditional Malay dish that has been around for a long time before Malaysia and Indonesia became independent. Ayam Penyet with sambal is a delicious food and is also very viral in Malaysia. Many Malay people include this dish in their restaurant menus.
I recommend you to try Indomie Instant Noodle 🤩🤩
Try all flavor 😊
For the Bistro Spaghetti noodle, I recommend you to try out the Cream cheese flavor one. It's so good that I could eat 2 packages at once.
Yes , the cream cheese flavor better than Spaghetti
I’ll look for it 👍
Great idea to expand the ranking tier list format to other types of food! Can you rank the best fried chicken in HCM in future?
The volcano turned out to be an inactive volcano. Also the "paper package" noodles from miliket is a lot better in my opinion
Nah, miliket’s soup is garbo, it’s popular because it’s noodle is bland which go well with hot pot. Others noodle packet will make the already flavorful hot pot overly salty
@@victortran2962 but it's still far better than Vifon for sure, Vifon taste like diluted salt water.
Love me some Chad first thing in the morning, & of course I'm now craving instant noodles lol Would totally do a few food tours with you if I ever make it to Vietnam!!
I always mention to friends that some brands of noodles we eat raw as a snack and they don't believe me!
Im a huge fan of Omachi products ever since it came out, apparently they were like rich people instant noodle back then
The shrimp noodle or VIFON is popular because it's cheap and it's actually the first instant noodle in Vietnam, especially for those born after the war until 2000s. Then, you started to have many new types and brands. It tastes good with beef, shrimp and boiled egg. By itself, you can make it tastes better by putting chilly sauce.
Love this sort of content. There are still lots of other popular instant noodles. So, looking forward to the next one!
My family owns a restaurant. We usually sell Phở, Hủ tiếu, Bò kho you name it. For the omachi bò kho I feel like it's really better for you to out and buy a real bowl of bò kho. We used to sell bò kho for like 25k vnd and now it's increase to 30k vnd. For me pesonally, I think the beef stew noodle of omachi (mì sốt bò hầm) is the best flavor.
😂 Noodles was origin from china but with equator exotic spice 😂 it's taste better. Sorry no offense 😂 Indomie won the world cup instant noodles 😂
@@harrykumoro4335 im just saying the best flavor of omachi but i didn't say which noodles is the best. It's up to other people's perspective so I won't comment which is the best instant noodles.
I fell like, the indomi goreng "original" is way tastier than any variant. Even better than the rendant variant, peyet, etc.
if you need the spice, you have to get the BLACK volcano. basically the same as pink one but much spicier, about 2/3 as spicy as samyang. it's my favorite dry instant noodle, and it feels right when it comes with the spiciness
If you're sick, eat a pack of instant noodle. If you're sad, eat a pack of instant noodle. They only bring happiness, nothing else.
And bowel cancer.
@@androwaydie4081I was about to say that lol

@@alberthcheong5477 and the floor is made out of floor, captain obvious
If I remember right Indomie Mi Goreng is the number one selling instant noodle overall for a long time. I find Vifon to be a solid brand where most of their stuff is good. There Mi Cua Rieu is one of my favs. I'm surprised that there was no Mama brand.(Thai) in the states as far as I know it's the number one Mi to buy in most SE Asian households with Pork and Tom Yum being the most popular flavors.
I don’t think I have tried any mama yet
The vifon paper packet noodles aren't good. The texture is terrible. The original miliket paper packets are much better, they have many variations too. Get the ones with chilli oil.
That Volcano noodles has another black packaging variant. That black one is cheesy and noticably spicier than the pink one you had.
I think Hao Hao won: cheapest, simple, easy to eat and delicious.
indomie is also very cheap, shockingly cheap for an imported product
@@HoangPham-oc8pk yeah but it doesnt got that convenience like Hao Hao since the noodle before being cooked is pretty soft and the packaged seasoning need to be put in a bowl. Because of the fact that we can just crushed a bag of Hao Hao and eat it as it is i think it deserve some recognition for that
@@HoangPham-oc8pk For some reason, i never really like the indomie flavor, and the portion is very small for dry nood.

Vietnamese people are watching
Honestly the black Raoh ramen is pretty good. It's almost comparable to restaurant ramen but 10 times cheaper. Restaurant ramen can set you back 150-200k, but this noodle pack is only 15k.
Still fancy for the price of instant noodles, but the quality is undeniable.
Damn I just look up some noodle to order from amazon and you upload this
Perfect 👍
Embassy 🌚🌚
Cook the Nissan Pho mai cay in milk similar to the “hack” for the Korean Buldak carbonara which it seems to imitate. Makes the noodle creamier
I love HAO HAO so much
you must try the original indomie mie goreng
Indomie is a brand from Indonesia. They have carried out production in various countries and mixed spices to suit the taste buds of each country's residents with the basic spices that Indomie already has. And what's in the video and you review. This is a version of the concoction suited to the Vietnamese tongue. And that's the rib penyet variant, not the best. Maybe you should try the original variant straight away from the Indonesian version. It won't make you regret trying it. And i click this video because i saw Indomie at the Thumbnail 😂
I love this kind of content.
I suggest that you should try “Siu Cay” noodles ❤ I luv your content so much 🎉
Love the upgrade in video quality! Keep up the good work
I'm very impressed by the level of Vietnamese culture that you have. I wish you success in the future!
Thank you so much
I think you should go to any local "tạp hóa" and try every instant noodles from there. It's those one which is the most iconic for the cheap price and the Vietnamese nostalgia factors come in. Sure the taste isn't as good as the ones near the 1$ price tag but I think it would be interesting for the Vietnamese viewers.
You know its called grocery store right? “Tạp hoá” doesn’t recognize as a name
Haha, I compliment you on the way you hold chopsticks and pronounce Vietnamese
06:38 thats indonesian noodle dude
Uh... Wheres Indomie?
WHERES INDOMIE!?
Bro just give up watching this video
Are you blind?
@@rockwell8686 Im talking the classic Mie Goreng, not the Spicy one.
I know there might be availability issue but come on, starting to liking Indomie from different flavor than the classic Mie Goreng one is just skipping to many steps just to date somebody
That's why as Indonesian, Im genuinely upset about it
But still, opinion vary
Subscribed! I love the quality. And the fact that these are mostly all new to me, I've learned a few things, and you don't make it gross like some people!
I’m guessing that spice you were confused about in the Sichuan style Vifon is the “mala” (and I don’t think the package mentioned Malaysia)
Come on, Miliket good in a way that you have to cook it the old way. My family used to cook it with tomatoes and green onions. So good in the rainy days. Bring back a lots of old memories. 😂😂
Hảo hảo là món cho sinh viên khi đến cuối tháng😂
😂 fr
If you dig Indomie, then please try to give Lucky Me brand a chance as well. It’s a pretty similar type of instant noodles but different flavor. And also, try Chapagetti as well. Totally different kind of noodles from anything that I’ve had before but still tasty. Anyway, thanks for the review! You have opened up my eyes to other brands of noodles that I’ve never tried before!
the paper pack one is often be eaten with hot pot and some packs of flavour are eaten with fruits
As a Vietnamese, best noodle soup: Hảo Hảo, best dry noodles: Indomie (Especially the original and the Pedas)😋😋
Thanks for reviewing our country's food ❤
if you do part 2 you should try the “bistro kem phô mai” its pretty good
Love the upgrade for the video quality.❤
So it doesn't really mean super spicy.
i dont have notifications on
but i still never miss an upload
glad to have watched this before bed 😊
Thank you for your support
So no one gonna talk about how Chad just casually snuck in a tweezers to eat noodles with 😂 Brilliant distracted!
Anyways so happy to see you in brand new studio. I've a sub-er for a while, really like your contents. Keep it going Chad! 💪💪
No one:
Vietnamese: Oh my god, it's Vietnam noodle
imo i think Hảo Hảo is kinda mid. As a Vietnamese, I like Cung Đình more (the normal yellow instant noodle type, not the phở ones), it uses liquid stock instead of powder, which makes the broth really nice and deep unlike the flat flavour that comes from the powdered seasonings of Hảo Hảo.
As a Vietnamese, I'm glad that you included most of Vietnamese instant noodles. 🇻🇳
About the paper package . we have " Vifon " , " Vị Hương " and " Miliket" . Next video try those 2 you missing
Tips for S+ Crispy raw Indomie goreng from me Indonesian, the expired date should be at least more than 6 months, less than 6 months the Noodle can only be enjoyed when it's fully cooked! You're welcome 🇮🇩❤🇵🇸
You should try all the ancient big three "hảo hảo tôm chua cay", "unif bò rau thơm", "gấu đỏ mì gà sợi phở"
I will
This is the first time I know you and I'm very impressed because you pronounce Vietnamese very well
Thank you, I’m trying hard
I'm one of the Native Khmer in Mekong delta VN (Vietnamese Cambodian), and mì Hảo hảo is the best to my taste, it suits both Khmer taste and Viet taste perfectly! Besides, Phnom penh noodle soup or kuey teav (in VN is called Hủ tiếu Nam vang) is one of my best alternative!
Usually for the Nissin spicy chicken noodles. I usually added a bit more chili sauce or hot sauce into the noodles, some peppers and add little bit protein like sausages or fried chicken.
Team Indomie ❤
Eating it simply like that would actually be hard for us to swallow :)))
damn you been makinng insanely good videos
Indomie noodles so many variants.. rendang flavor is my favorite noodle

Hao Hao is the best option. Hao Hao was so famous since 2000s. Vietnameses call it the national fast noodle. It is so cheap with only 4.000vnd to have it. Fast cooking only take you 3mins and about 300ml hot water to have a good meal. I ate alot of Hao Hao when I was young, it is so good until there are several noodle brand from Korea, China, Indo come to Viet Nam. You should try Hao Hao at least once.
Love the video, a lot of effort got put into it, you're great my man !
