Damn! The most impactful "fashion week" coverage I've EVER watched on this, or any other channel! From the 2 Ukrainian designers -- one re-imagining the 'bag lady', and the other whose team was still in Kiev working while the war rages on. Both juxtaposed against the faux-Adidas sweatshop runway hijack. Dying for Fashion, literally. Clothes are just another skin we walk around in. What Do the clothes We wear say about Us? I echo your other subscribers who value that along w/ the 'known' you also showcase the unknown -- new designers whose perspectives have the power to change minds and lives. Awesome reporting.

The opening show - sorry, I missed her name - was really moving in an art reflects on the life going on around us type of way. It made the transformations almost heartbreaking - only that you can carry. That's always been true for war, especially in this new century. Ms. Litkovska's work is so graceful in it's protest. And how many choral groups now sing in garages that serve as bomb shelters? I'm without words. I wonder if Odeeh would let me spend a week or two vacation pitching in (fer free) on their sewing room shenanigans - I dream of working with fabric that fluid and well made. Absolutely beautiful. I love their production and esthetic. _{Right now I'm working on my entry for the Foundations Revealed garment competition here in the interwebs. Delaying work by commenting on YT videos? Moi? Sigh - deadline is tomorrow. I'm finishing a 1950's weskit that's been embroidered and quilted into resembling a river and the fish that move through it. Basically, I'm attempting to reach for the house's level of sewing bravado, pattern drafting and fine manipulation... I hope these two inspire other designers to work locally and especially historically.}_ I love that SF 1 OG is working with the material as they find it, so-called imperfections an all. Each outfit is truly one of a kind. Acceptance Letters Studio is probably the best name I've heard in a while. I'm interested to see how he develops. Love that he's reaching back to the Elders for inspiration. I wish Vivian Westwood could have done a collaboration with Namalia - can you imagine what they would do if let loose on a pile of tweed. My inner punk child is chuckling at the idea. Be your own superhero. Wonderful. Sia Arnica. Wonderful. Alternative bridal wear. Finally. Lou de Betoly - the structure they put into the skirts is fascinating. And very historical. One of those items of clothing I would love to have a 'look under the construction hood' to see how they pulled off the gravity defying. I'm starting to get the feeling that outer structures like panniers may just be making some sort of time-warping comeback. Realitywear. Seriously. Dude in sweats and a golf shirt. Huh. Woman who was worked like a slave dressed in office wear she probably had to buy herself. And coupons. With her face on them. Really. And on behalf of my union organizing Grandfather who made it through the 30's in one piece - what the actual... I. No. Grr. No, really - no. Adidas - you are forever off my shopping list. Not that you were in the first place. Goodbye. I feel like I need to wash this one off of my psyche with boiling hot water... And... whah. Yeah. It got me too. I was a teenager in the 80's so I've had plenty of time to watch the super rich be condescending little so-n-so's. Totally possible for an honest version of this show to happen in real time. Wait for it. Kind of like how The Onion was trumped by Trump... no matter what stupid thing you can imagine... it has the possibility to be even dumber in real life... Great content, as always. Also a distraction - thank you. That facing and lining won't install themselves into my weskit. And, unlike the Tailor of Gloucester, I haven't saved any sewing mice lately. So... off to the sewing machine with me... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

There are very many things I do not know about fashion and the industry so I apologize if this question seems ignorant! But there is a part in the video (and this I have seen with other brands and houses) where the brand talks about upcycling materials like that stained white leather which was thrown out by a manufacturer and which they used in their show. To my knowledge, brands generally are supposed to make more than one of their design in order for many people to purchase and wear it, so what happens when these materials (chosen for sustainability) run out and they cannot make more of the same thing? Is there simply a limited number of these pieces and they stop making once their chosen material runs out or is there another alternative? Since I generally am only aware of how mass-production works in fast fashion, I am curious how smaller brands or at the very least, more mindful brands are able to keep on producing when their sources are limited because they make more reasoned choices. I have asked this quesiton in my head before when I learned about how Margiela would thrift clothes and then remake them into something they could show on the runway, like did that mean they thrifted multiple of the same thing so they could sell it or was there only one of that thing which they remade?
