As a 67 year old man in a blue-collar (actually no-collar) E Texas town all I have to do to be the best dressed/most attractive man in the room is to wear anything besides cargo-shorts, crocs, and very large sleeveless shirts. I’ve also found that it helps to be the only guy in the room.

I'm old, so this could have come from Ann Landers or Dear Abby, but some advice columnist years ago said that when in dialogue with someone, you should talk about them and not yourself, and then you'll always be known as a great conversationalist. this has always worked for me (a natural introvert)...boosted self confidence, bigger circle of friends, learning new things, and genuinely learning to enjoy getting to know about others. and as you mention in the vid, I would add that you should talk to everyone in the room, not just the beautiful

John, In my life, I’ve practiced the majority of the suggestions you offered here and what annoys me the most is when I ask people about themselves, they usually speak non-stop, but do they in return even ask one thing about myself, most times absolutely not.

Too true I’ve never had the looks or an outgoing personality but it’s so easy just starting a conversation in public by just showing personal interest in someone & striking common ground but so easy to become someone who grizzles or complains I just say to myself snap out of it now I’ve gotten older you realise life is a gift not to be taken for granted

Wow... one of your best vids!!
In every point sooo right. The talking to random strangers was one of the biggest plus for me. From the very most you get positive reactions, what let grow step by step the feeling : hey, holy crap, people take me seriously and accept me as i am. A real confident booster cause you learn that all people feel a bit unsecure around strangers. You lighten up their day a bit, and yours... by growing.
I dont get the mindset from stoic men... talking and be open is one of the best things to grow.
Chris Hemsworth is goodlooking, yes, but i think whats really outstanding, is his charisma "i dont care what you think about me"...

As usual an informative video by the fashion therapist. I try to be positive and I do take pride about my physical appearance which includes clothing and body. I have to work on being more sociable in a group setting. I do well one on one but sometimes there are those who take up quite a bit of oxygen and I hate to socially compete and in my case I have to be cautious when initiating conversations with certain men. Oh well...food for thought. I need to come up with a strategy.

Hi John . I think the old saying beauty ( or in this case attractiveness ) is only skin deep applies here. There are attractive people who can be quite shallow . There are people who are envious or even intimidated by attractive people without actually getting to know them . Then there are those folks who may not initially come across as attractive at first but over time once you get to know the person that inner attractiveness comes through in many of their endearing qualities and you begin to overlook any physical flaws that person might have. Thats the type of person everyone should strive to be like. Peace . : )

A nice set of simple rules. Here’s one multiple female friends have mentioned, it’s so simple it’s stupid but for some reason a lot of guys ignore this given what they’ve said. That one thing is don’t stink. It seems so stupid too say this but I guess it’s a thing. I’ve seen/smelled it happen once with my own eyes/nose, a guy a female friend thought was cute came over to say hi... he lasted 10 seconds after one whiff. They also complain about too much or inappropriate cologne choice for a situation but bo is a bigger turn off . So guys given what they’ve said I guess if you have a shower regularly you’re already ahead of a bunch of men out there.

Unfortunately, once my lack of self-esteem and social awkwardness began to show and that sparkle would disappear rather quickly.

@ James Buteau...to each their own, and respectfully said (I'm still healing from 20 yr marriage/divorce 3 yrs now)--- the last thing you should be doing after a 22 year toxic marriage, is losing self control sexually. It takes both husband and wife to wreck a marriage, even if the percentage of wrongs is skewed more to one person. Toxic, means you're co-dependent. Heal your mind; mindless sex will only hinder you long term. Please learn to love/respect your mind/body/spirit, before moving on. You wont regret it. Best wishes...peace!

If you live on the coast in a major city you have to be at the top of your game.
Today with social media you women just have too many options.
At 55 years old I am working out 4 to 6 days a week. Get a hair cut once every 3 weeks about.
Just going out to the store I dress neat and stylish.
Trust me I don't want to do any of this, but you have no choice unless you want to accept that average looking woman that thinks she is a 9 or a 10 because of all the attention on social media and dating sites gives her.

  • @MrDanielWP
    @MrDanielWP 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You don't have to be touched by the gods to be attractive. If you aren't in the gym, picking up heavy things and putting them down, why would you think this advice matters? Lift weights, get under 15% bodyfat, and learn to dress well. If you want to be physically attractive, there are things in your control that you should be doing. If you're not doing them, you aren't putting in the work. If your failure is because you're too lazy to put in the work, the fix for that is simple.
As for your personality and getting people to want to be around you, it's really just a matter of confidence and competence. Lots of people specifically will not respect someone who never takes a stand on an issue. So, running from difficult conversations just makes you less trustworthy. Likewise, if you only complain and never fix anything, you aren't competent or a problem solver. You just complain. Everyone respects the guy who knows what he believes/wants and can take on life's challenges and overcome them. You'll need to be well versed in philosophy, law, geography, science, food, culture, etc. How can you have anything interesting to say if you know nothing about the world?
So, workout, get low bodyfat, learn how to dress, become a statesman, develop your skills, and put in the work. This way, you can be truly confident in yourself and your abilities. Let me frame the situation like this: it's not a jocks vs preps kind of trivial high school rivalry and you pick which side you think you should be on - you should be all of these things. There is no reason a guy can't read Plato, dress well, and lift weights in the same day.
Another way of looking at it is this: find out who and what you want to be and make yourself into that person. The first part of that is the hard part - the rest is just putting in work.

personality does not trump height - fame, money, power, fitness, clout and influence might - but they are only offsets - a tall dullard will steal / poach from well versed Poindexter.

The bad thing is that height isn't considered by women to be in the looks department. Being tall for a man is something that is self implied by women that all "real" mean should be and supposed to be. Usually, how it works is women go for the good-looking tall "bad boy" who has a couple of kids from him then he leaves her for a younger more attractive woman to start over again. The same very woman then will settle for a less attractive guy because her taller men that she lusts for don't want a single mom. It's the nice guys that women will never give priority too and they get to support other men's kids.
