i've seen a bunch already what were smaller than that in several showcase video's, including some that had a bathroom outside the appartment/studio that was shared with others. This ain't bad.
The "No weird angles" is what made me click on this video in the first place! I just cannot stand the use of irregular spaces and just down right unessacary angles (I do have OCD after all...)! But I do find that symmetrical spaces such as this one really do make it easier to organize where to put every thing without losing the space needed to move around without that "cramped" feeling!
A door between bedroom and kitchen makes such a big difference even in a small apartment. It is as if you have two separate and complete rooms no matter how small.
There's nothing wrong with a small balcony, that's enough for me... what's important is that there's a balcony to relax for a while and there's enough air circulation. I like this apartment
Very nice apartment Usui-San. It is laid out well, has lots of light, and most of all toilet paper storage. If you were ever looking to change from your current apartment, this would be one to consider. Thanks for continuing to show us the beauty of Tokyo.
Nice apartment, no steep ladder to climb up to a bed, balcony is nice with plants. How is it in Japan, are you allowed to place shelves and cabinets on the walls? If so, you can use the height of walls, above washing machine, fridge, book shelves, also in bathroom, IKEA has lots of bathroom furniture, not so deep, space saving, easily to be used for other purposes, and with doors, so contents do not disturb the eye. Apart from books of course😊 and some decoration. Also the area is good, I like the park nearby, so you can be outside and don't feel imprisoned. Would be a good place to live Usui San. At first I thought it wasn't going to be enough space. It seems everything fits nicely into the small space. The rent is reasonable. I like that it has a screen door. Definitely need that in the summer. Love the music! 😊
This one is thought out very well. I like the door separation between areas. The balcony is a definite plus for me because I love plants. Thank you for showing this to us. Stay healthy, happy and safe always 😊
Now that is a nice little apartment. Good layout, no slanted walls to complicate furniture arrangement, and enough light to not be claustrophobic. I particularly like the door between the living area and kitchen. I don't think it's appreciated as much as it should be how much cooking grease settles on everything in an open floorplan. My only quibble is that I wish there was a bit more counter space in the kitchen, enough to set up a water boiler.
If you get a smallish fridge, I suppose you could set up the water cooker on top of the fridge. And I completely agree with you about the cooking grease!
I've seen all of your videos and I think this is the best one so far. Great distribution, toilet paper storage, no needless loft, bedroom separated from the rest of the apartment, small closet, shoe rack and balcony. It has so many things that it doesn't seem so tiny, but it has the price of a tiny. I would say you should move to this one as soon as you can, 'cause it's beautiful and perfect.
Another wonderful apartment. Seperated rooms for living and cooking. Enough space for a bed and a desk. And a balcony. The rent is also very reasonable. This is one of the better apartments in my opinion.

i really like the straightforward layout! it gets a lot of sun, too! although it's a small balcony, just having an outdoor area where you can put a couple plants, a chair, and breathe the morning air while having coffee. the only thing i would change is probably making the shoebox deeper so you could fit more shoes. great apartment! ❤
I like this micro apartment the best! No loft, plenty of TP storage, room for bed and desk/chair and a balcony just right for plants! I believe there is a washing machine space as well yes? This is a very good balanced apartment with an added bonus of a 'small' balcony (every space counts!). I like the screen door so you can leave the balcony door open. Also has a good sized bathroom with separate toilet which is also very good. The living/sleeping area is spacious compared to many you have shown. Price is excellent and in a good area.
I appreciate your dedication to ending cold baths taken by foreigners by showcasing the hot water panel. 😂😂😂 I can’t wait to visit Japan again to take a hot bath 😊 this apartment is a great price and near one of my favorite stations.
I really love this apartment! I can even imagine living there. Okay, a bit bigger would be better (for all my books, art supplies, comics/manga, merchandise ...) but if I would work in Japan for a while, I would take that apartment.
I love this place! My low loft bed would fit perfectly where you had the bed. I would definitely put plants on the balcony. Probably even grow some cherry tomatoes and one or two other things, The shoe closet is perfect for me since I only own two pairs of shoes 😂. I like that the door between the kitchen and living room is a sliding door. It wouldn't interfere with the bed placement.😊 While the kitchen is small it would definitely work just for me lol. I also like the flooring in this one. Too bad it isn't within walking distance to my work. I could save on gas money if it were. THANKS FOR SHARING! I always look forward to your videos. I'll have to play around with my Planner 5D program on this one. It will be fun to see how the apartment can be set up. 💙
Another great video! A good price for a well laid out apartment. The balcony is a lovely bonus. As a side note, I always love how you pause the music when heading outside and we can hear the noises of the neighborhood.

Ok, I have bidets (I'm in the US), but still use tp. What do people use to dry themselves if not tp? I'm not being facetious. I'm serious. Paper towels? A regular towel? Yes, it's a silly question, but it doesn't come up in every day conversation, and here's my chance! Lol ( Edited for typo)

Mine is that micro house from eight months ago. Though in my case, I would be blocking all the outside exits from the patio. This way my cats would have a spot to be in. As well as their litterboxes too.

Thank you for your videos. It’s very well presented. This apartment is my favorite because the layout flows like a regular apartment. A balcony is nice, and the window lets in light. I like how the kitchen and bath area can be separated from the bedroom. It’s also a little bigger than the other micro apartments. I’m surprised to learn that most apartments do not include a washer. In most places I lived, it’s normally included or there is a shared coin laundry room in the building. Good to learn how things work in Japan. I’ve visited twice and enjoyed many things, especially the food. Thank you 😊
11:58 Usui, the way you arranged the furniture was very intuitive: you put the fridge and washing machine where they should be, and you out the bed and desk on different side of the room. Here is a suggestion to tweak the arrangement a bit. 1. The side where you put the bed is 2.9 meters long. It is long enough for a bed, which is usually 2-meter-long, and a small computer desk -- like the one you have in your apartment. So, make use of every inch of space in this micro-apartment, I suggest that you put BOTH the bed AND the desk on the same side of the room. Furthermore, I recommend getting a comfortable swivel chair. I'll explain why later. 2. Put a min-dining set and a TV stand on the side of the room. This is why you want to have a swivel chair, because when you want to take a break from work, you can just rotate the chair and make it face the TV. In the ideal situation in which you have a spacious living room, the perfect option is to have a sofa. But in this micro-apartment, a swivel chair works just find. The reason I make this suggestion is, your arrangement of the furniture was intuitive, but it does not give you a dining area. Where are you going to eat, your desk or your bed?? 😉 My suggestion gives you a dining area, and you wouldn't need to eat at your desk or in your bed. 😄 I like it that the shower and the toilet are in separate spaces. The view from the balcony is quite obstructed, but at least you can see the sky. For a micro-apartment that is smaller than 17 sqm, a balcony is almost luxury. A lovely micro-apartment with affordable monthly rent. Thanks for sharing!

This is my favorite micro apartment on this channel. I especially like the closeness to the park, the balcony, the warm color of the floor, doors and closet (are the real wood)? I can almost see myself living there. I would prefer if the wash basin was in the toilet room so you can wash your hands after using the toilet. It’s nice that there is room for more furniture than just a bed. The kitchen is far too small for me though. I have so many kitchen machines. 😅
Celui ci est parfait. En plus il y a un super parc arboré et joliment fleuri, et les magnifiques papillons 🦋. Petit mais très fonctionnel. En plus tout ton mobilier trouvera parfaitement bien sa place. Tu peux accrocher un écran audiovisuel au pied du lit. Tu peux te procurer une seconde chaise et inviter un ou une ami-e a mangé et partagé des moments de partage et convivialité. Cerise sur le gâteau, il y a un balcon. 🎉❤🙏👏👍😉
The room layout is reasonable. I like that the door between the kitchen and the living room is a sliding door, as that does not take up precious space. Even though the balcony is narrow and has no view, it is perfect for airing laundry. I like this micro apartment.
This one is definitely a winner. Someone really thought it out. Little things like the shoe closet has a top where you could place things as you come in to the grid bottom of the open cabinet in the kitchen ( you can hang things from it ). Plus it looks like the wall paper is the type you can take a sponge over to clean. And even if the view not the best having a balcony to place plants or sleep ( we old folks used to do that before air conditioning in hot summers ( so your sleeping bag not so much a joke😂)) is so nice. Also the neighborhood with those mature trees… really nice. I’d be signing the lease.
This is my ideal tiny apartment. My cozy chair should fit and I have a twin bed anyway plus a tall dresser. The kitchen even has its own room and I like the view. Neighborhood seems quiet. I wish we had stuff like this in the states, especially for the price.
For a minimalist, a frugal person like myself this would have been perfect only if the view outside the balcony was a bit better. I still love it! wish my country had apartments like this. 💜

Another good apartment, you and Spider-Man have been quite successful lately. I love the balcony and the light it brings into the room. Being near the park is a plus as well. I think a person could be quite comfortable here. The rent would be my only complaint, but then again, you are paying for the convenience of easy transit. Thank you for sharing this with us!
That is just a perfect little place imo. I'd put the bed where you did, but I'd be tempted to see if I couldn't fit a desk at the foot of it so I could sit on the bed to work, with wall-mounted tv for watching shows from bed. I'd put bookcase along the other wall with small dining table (like breakfast bistro) near the corner. I like to eat separately from desk (in theory, tho I often snack at the computer). But it would be nice for having someone over for a meal. Gotta love the sliding door between the hall stuff and the main living space. I also love the way things are situated from the front door to the lving area door. You come home tired and feeling dirty etc. The mail is safely in the plastic container so no having to avoid stepping on it. Take your shoes off your tired feet and store (bet I can get more shoes into that cupboard than 3 pairs, lol. I am Queen of Jogsaw Puzzle Decorating). Strip off day's clothes and toss directly into washing machine, use toilet, go take shower, come out wrapped in towel and start dinner to simmer. Grab a cold one from fridge and step into living area. Get fresh loungewear from closet. Sit on end of bed and catch up on social media or what-not. When dinner is ready, enjoy from little table in corner and enjoy view outside. Clean up after dinner and enjoy a dessert from bed while watching tv. If weather is super nice, why not sleep on balcony with sleeping bag?? I honestly think it's a brilliant idea! (But I do want to know how breaking a door helps me escape a fire...what *is* behind that door??? I wanna know cus even knowing the place is on fire, I'm still chicken about going over the wall with a wiggly rope ladder.)

This apartment is really nice and the area is very green. The genkan is very small, but doable. And, there are lots of ways to arrange the furniture in the main room. The rent seems fair for the size and location. I like!

I think I like the balcony. It could be a life saver if the weather outside is agreeable. Plus it defeats cabin fever pretty well. The price isn't bad either. I'd live there if I ever had business in that nick of the woods.
Great one! The extra sink in the tub/shower room is a little oddly placed. Why so close to the tub if there isn’t a toilet night next to it? Other than that, it seems quite nice. :) Love the balcony if you chose a loft bed over a desk, you could squeeze in something like a small couch or a recliner on the side next to the closet, and enjoy looking out the window more. Very nice. I wish I could have something by this nice all to myself in the US!

I would put a plant and a comfortable balcony chair on the balcony for your own relaxation. You have furnished the apartment cleverly. I would put the workdesk closer to the window as I like light and put a shelve next to it with maybe a tv, you could easily watch it from your bed. It's a nice appartment!

We have some micro apartments (aPODments) here in Seattle. Not sure if they include a cooking hob, but there are a few near me and seem pretty nice... and have little balconies.

It's not as expensive as I thought it would be...I'd maybe get a smaller fridge, same height as the washing machine, and put a removable counter over the two for prepping space, with maybe a shelf above...that kitchen area is Small 😮 I like the balcony, you could make that pretty to look at, although not much room for a chair/table... I find it interesting how so many of these teem to have major shoe capacity, but nowhere to hang up a coat at the entrance.
It’s easy to add a command hook on a door to create a coat hook.
Since I lived in a van for three years, I could live here.Like the balcony.The price is good also.It's good to be near a park, I'm a outside girl😊.

I would think a raised bed, like a bunk bed, with the desk underneath it would be a more efficient use of the space.

This apartment is my favorite because the layout flows like a regular apartment. A balcony is nice, and the window lets in light. I like how the kitchen and bath area can be separated from the bedroom. It’s also a little bigger than the other micro apartments.
I’m surprised to learn that most apartments do not include a washer. In most places I lived, it’s normally included or there is a shared coin laundry room in the building. Good to learn how things work in Japan. I’ve visited twice and enjoyed many things, especially the food. Thank you 😊
11:58 Usui, the way you arranged the furniture was very intuitive: you put the fridge and washing machine where they should be, and you out the bed and desk on different side of the room. Here is a suggestion to tweak the arrangement a bit.
1. The side where you put the bed is 2.9 meters long. It is long enough for a bed, which is usually 2-meter-long, and a small computer desk -- like the one you have in your apartment. So, make use of every inch of space in this micro-apartment, I suggest that you put BOTH the bed AND the desk on the same side of the room. Furthermore, I recommend getting a comfortable swivel chair. I'll explain why later.
2. Put a min-dining set and a TV stand on the side of the room. This is why you want to have a swivel chair, because when you want to take a break from work, you can just rotate the chair and make it face the TV. In the ideal situation in which you have a spacious living room, the perfect option is to have a sofa. But in this micro-apartment, a swivel chair works just find.
The reason I make this suggestion is, your arrangement of the furniture was intuitive, but it does not give you a dining area. Where are you going to eat, your desk or your bed?? 😉 My suggestion gives you a dining area, and you wouldn't need to eat at your desk or in your bed. 😄
I like it that the shower and the toilet are in separate spaces. The view from the balcony is quite obstructed, but at least you can see the sky. For a micro-apartment that is smaller than 17 sqm, a balcony is almost luxury.

This is my favorite micro apartment on this channel. I especially like the closeness to the park, the balcony, the warm color of the floor, doors and closet (are the real wood)? I can almost see myself living there. I would prefer if the wash basin was in the toilet room so you can wash your hands after using the toilet. It’s nice that there is room for more furniture than just a bed.
The kitchen is far too small for me though. I have so many kitchen machines. 😅

En plus tout ton mobilier trouvera parfaitement bien sa place. Tu peux accrocher un écran audiovisuel au pied du lit. Tu peux te procurer une seconde chaise et inviter un ou une ami-e a mangé et partagé des moments de partage et convivialité. Cerise sur le gâteau, il y a un balcon. 🎉❤🙏👏👍😉

The room layout is reasonable. I like that the door between the kitchen and the living room is a sliding door, as that does not take up precious space. Even though the balcony is narrow and has no view, it is perfect for airing laundry. I like this micro apartment.
This one is definitely a winner. Someone really thought it out. Little things like the shoe closet has a top where you could place things as you come in to the grid bottom of the open cabinet in the kitchen ( you can hang things from it ). Plus it looks like the wall paper is the type you can take a sponge over to clean.
And even if the view not the best having a balcony to place plants or sleep ( we old folks used to do that before air conditioning in hot summers ( so your sleeping bag not so much a joke😂)) is so nice.
Also the neighborhood with those mature trees… really nice.

I am a big proponent of corner desks, I have used them quite effectively in small spaces I have lived in.
This is my ideal tiny apartment. My cozy chair should fit and I have a twin bed anyway plus a tall dresser. The kitchen even has its own room and I like the view. Neighborhood seems quiet. I wish we had stuff like this in the states, especially for the price.

Another good apartment, you and Spider-Man have been quite successful lately. I love the balcony and the light it brings into the room. Being near the park is a plus as well. I think a person could be quite comfortable here. The rent would be my only complaint, but then again, you are paying for the convenience of easy transit. Thank you for sharing this with us!
That is just a perfect little place imo. I'd put the bed where you did, but I'd be tempted to see if I couldn't fit a desk at the foot of it so I could sit on the bed to work, with wall-mounted tv for watching shows from bed. I'd put bookcase along the other wall with small dining table (like breakfast bistro) near the corner. I like to eat separately from desk (in theory, tho I often snack at the computer). But it would be nice for having someone over for a meal. Gotta love the sliding door between the hall stuff and the main living space. I also love the way things are situated from the front door to the lving area door. You come home tired and feeling dirty etc. The mail is safely in the plastic container so no having to avoid stepping on it. Take your shoes off your tired feet and store (bet I can get more shoes into that cupboard than 3 pairs, lol. I am Queen of Jogsaw Puzzle Decorating). Strip off day's clothes and toss directly into washing machine, use toilet, go take shower, come out wrapped in towel and start dinner to simmer. Grab a cold one from fridge and step into living area. Get fresh loungewear from closet. Sit on end of bed and catch up on social media or what-not. When dinner is ready, enjoy from little table in corner and enjoy view outside. Clean up after dinner and enjoy a dessert from bed while watching tv. If weather is super nice, why not sleep on balcony with sleeping bag?? I honestly think it's a brilliant idea! (But I do want to know how breaking a door helps me escape a fire...what *is* behind that door??? I wanna know cus even knowing the place is on fire, I'm still chicken about going over the wall with a wiggly rope ladder.)

This apartment is really nice and the area is very green. The genkan is very small, but doable. And, there are lots of ways to arrange the furniture in the main room. The rent seems fair for the size and location. I like!

It is very nice and the room is much better than many others that are long and small. I like the balcony and the view from there. It thought the rent is higher. 😅

Great one! The extra sink in the tub/shower room is a little oddly placed. Why so close to the tub if there isn’t a toilet night next to it? Other than that, it seems quite nice. :) Love the balcony if you chose a loft bed over a desk, you could squeeze in something like a small couch or a recliner on the side next to the closet, and enjoy looking out the window more. Very nice. I wish I could have something by this nice all to myself in the US!

I would put a plant and a comfortable balcony chair on the balcony for your own relaxation. You have furnished the apartment cleverly. I would put the workdesk closer to the window as I like light and put a shelve next to it with maybe a tv, you could easily watch it from your bed. It's a nice appartment!

We have some micro apartments (aPODments) here in Seattle. Not sure if they include a cooking hob, but there are a few near me and seem pretty nice... and have little balconies.

It's not as expensive as I thought it would be...I'd maybe get a smaller fridge, same height as the washing machine, and put a removable counter over the two for prepping space, with maybe a shelf above...that kitchen area is Small 😮 I like the balcony, you could make that pretty to look at, although not much room for a chair/table...
