    You should do your research bmw brakes are designed to do that the sensor will wear so that it gives you enough time to change out your pads, yes you can keep driving but you just need to keep a eye on the thickness of the pad.

      I’m glad. Sometimes we can benefit from the cost savings of doing things ourselves to control our finances. Thank you for watching this video 👍 I appreciate you commenting.

     I appreciate the response and video! My rotors look good so I’m going to change the pads with the brembos you got a new sensor pins and clips and see how it goes. Thanks again from a fellow MA guy.

    Hey there, thanks for the video. My question is after you get done with the brake job do you have to reset the brake light on the computer or just take it for a test drive and will be okay?.

      You would have to reset the brake light… I showed how to do it at the very end of video… make sure you watch to the very end.

    Hey, does your vehicle have AUTO HOLD? If so, have you seen anything on how to set up/calibrate this feature correctly when changing the rear brake pads/rotors? Thanks!

    Hey bud did you ever end up changing the rotors or was everything good with the old one on there?

      The one I ordered from Rock Auto was too big. The one ☝️ that is required is 13.5”? Or 330mm. I 👀 looked at them and they look good. Experts will tell you to replace pads and rotors at the same time (unfortunately I am no expert) I ended NOT replacing them. I will Probably replace them with OEM down the road though. Thanks for checking out the video.
      I have been slacking on the video posting but I should posting real soon. Thanks again

    So if you are doing brakes only is it possible to leave the caliper on or do you have to take it off to spread them back out with the tool?

    • @hunterandchavy
      @hunterandchavy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are using the Amazon brake compressor tool, you have to take the caliper off. If you are using just a couple of flat head screwdrivers 🪛 then you can leave the caliper on. I am no expert But I found it easier to compress the caliper back to zero after removing the caliper as the brake pads are really thick. Hope this helps friend 👍

      @trencher7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hunterandchavy Thanks. It looks like you were showing at 21:25 how to push them out with the screwdrivers. Does that work for you? For the times l'm not changing rotors I would love to not have to remove the caliper.

    • @hunterandchavy
      @hunterandchavy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@trencher7 I usually remove the whole caliper. I guess give it try. Good luck with your project.

    When I look at rotors for the X7 on Rockauto I see some that say "Front and Rear; Exc M Sport Brake; Exc Trailer Hitch; Full Cast Replacement for Aluminum Hat Rotors". I assume that means excludes M Sport and X7's with a hitch. I have a trailer hitch so rotor size depends on if I have the hitch or not?

    • @hunterandchavy
      @hunterandchavy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@trencher7 be careful…. BMW is very specific. I, myself, ordered the wrong one. Whatever you have on there now should match the replacement. GL and let me know how did you do.

    • @trencher7
      @trencher7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hunterandchavy Ya I will just go with the ones that include trailer hitch. Seems odd. Maybe they put bigger rotors on the ones with the hitch. No idea.
