I love soup. This is so simple and looks so delicious!
I am Puerto Rican and raised in the States. I am sure we don't have a tradition of how to eat after giving birth. However I did crave soup after giving birth to my two children. Thanks for sharing your recipe and a bit of your traditions.

I should not be watching your videos every time I’m craving certain foods esp after midnight lol! I’m a guy and even I want some of that. In the Mien culture, of course, like Hmong, we also have a chicken soup that is made for post pregnancy diets and not sure if it’s all Mien people but as far as the ones I knew all used either black chicken, hen, or the ones slaughtered fresh also. I do believe we add that fermented sweet rice wine (with the rice) into it on top of those herbs too. But growing up, I recall sneaking and eating some of my mom’s when she had to eat that too. So I do have the cravings but in a diff sense maybe. Sorry my comments are so long haha!

Wow nice to know I always thought it was just Hmong people who do it. Yes , it is good and yet something so traditional and simple to make. Thank you for leaving a comment I love hearing from people.

Lol. No judgement. I lasted a few days short of a month after all my labors. Surprisingly I didn’t really get that sick of it.

What ingredients do you use and can you label them?

Sorry I don’t know the exact words to the Hmong herbs, but I believe you can Google the Hmong herb diet and find it there. Sorry I wasn’t much help. The Hmong store already have these pre baggage up for us to buy. Good luck

Because I didn’t know what they were called in English. I don’t even know what they are called in Hmong. I just know that it’s all bagged up already to go at the Hmong Asian grocery store. Sorry
