Have tried. Is a delicacy here in Assam (northeast India, which Gordon had already visited) usually eaten around the festive season of Bihu in april. Not as a chutney though, larva steamed or fried.
Hahahaha! You'd think he'd have learned his lesson from last month's "Coconut Chutney" The one where Gordon Ramsay tries to catch that bag of Coconuts dropped from the tree! 🤣🤣
Gordon not being disgusted or confused after hearing that they're making chutney out of ant is proof that he still remembers his first time trying ant chutney lmao
Well our India has the largest vegetarian population in the whole world but some communities eat these things , nothing wrong in it , people should understand that everyone has the right to choose their food they eat
@@PapasAnimals oh it's a tradition actually.. We celebrate bihu festival at that time of the year.. The recipe is quite simple.. Just after plucking the nest(isn't it a nest?) Put it in a bucket of water as it will be easier to remove the ants.. Take a thread and circle it around the water bucket all the ants will get stuck in the thread.. After that take out the ant eggs.. Then start cooking.. Put some oil in a pan, onion, salt scrambleand then fry the eggs( if some ants remain thats fine) then put the chicken egg and scramble it.. Ready to eat
I'm from where the lady is from (Malenadu region) and I never knew they made chutney from ants- Edit: just asked my mom and she said they've been making these ant chutney from her region from a long time ago, maybe cause me and my family are vegetarian I never knew about this lol 😅
Semut merah raksasa gatel banget. Gigitan pertama pedas disambung gatel. Awalnya beli rambutan ada semut merah dari abang penjual. Mereka membuat koloni di pohon besar depan rumah saya. Sangat menganggu. Di asap frog mati semua. Waktu tebang pohon, sarang sangat besar mengantung di pucuk pohong paling tinggi. Tukang tebang ikut menderita garuk seluruh badan. Sejak itu musnah. Ternyata di India makanan lezat
In Indonesia, you can get it easier. Just come to bird market, and then ask to the seller, "Saya mau beli kroto". Well... Ternyata chef Gordon suka makan kroto

I wonder what the ants taste like. Unless they have some amazing specific flavor then I’m sure there’s some kind of alternative than climbing up that giant tree for ants that bite you in the gooch
Gordon learns how to make a special chutney using the weaver ant as a key ingredient. Would you try the weaver ant chutney dish?
ILL JUST PUT IT LIKE THIS
I WONT KNOCK IT BEFORE I TRY IT
& I'LL LEAVE IT AS THAT🧠🤔
Definitely!
It's said that you'll be forgetful if you eat ants, because they contain formic acid. Probably only a belief in my place tho, haha
Wow!!! How delicious!!!
