Yasuo was charged with guarding his master, and master of his school, Elder Souma, during the Noxian invasion of Ionia. Yone, his older brother goes out to fight. Yasuo left his post because of his desire to be part of the war and during this time, Elder Souma was killed (by trying to help the champion Riven with her sword). When Yasuo returned, he was discovered over the body of his dead master. Since he was the only other person to supposedly have access to Elder Souma during this time, he was blamed and then persecuted for the murder. Yasuo becomes a vagabond. "Kin of the Stained Blade" begins at the final confrontation after Yone finds Yasuo. Yasuo was always a swordsman prodigy, more skilled than Yone. Don't know if Yone let Yasuo kill him as he genuinely wanted to catch him.
"The Ionian Myth" starts immediately upon Yone's death. The white hair in many Asian cultures is directly connected to death or the spirit realm. He is being guided through the spirit realm by the 9-tailed kumiho who represents the champion Ahri. The statue of the woman is the champion Cassiopeia, The large white ghost wolf spirit represent the champion Kindred, the mountain silhouette of the laying centaur/dryad is the champion Lilia, the little stone garden gnome statues represent the champion Teemo, and the dark archway, torii gate, with the lantern represents the champion Thresh. These are the champions that along with Yasuo and Yone got Spirit Blossom event skins in 2020.
Because of the Noxian invasion, many, many were killed and the blood of the bodies soaked into the Ionian soil. Ionia, the land itself being spiritual and magical suffered greatly from this. Because many bodies were left uninterred, Azakana, minor demons of Ionia multiplied and started roaming the country. Also, because of the land's suffering, the magical Spirit Blossoms stopped blooming. The Spirit Blossoms were important to the people of Ionia because during the festival, they could use a brew and the Spirit Blossoms, to actually commune with their beloved dead. It was Yasuo's intention to talk to his dead brother, but the old man was an Azakana in disguise, the drug was wrong, and the Spirit Blossom Yasuo held, an illusion. Yone 2.0's purpose is to help rid Ionia of the overwhelming Azakana threat.
If you still feel lost when it comes to the locales of Runeterra I recommend grounding yourself with the Runeterra map and/or watching the Tales of Runeterra to get a feel for every culture.

One correction: Yone actually was more skilled with regular swords, but Yasuo had an advantage of his wind technique. That's why at the beginning of the fight he uses normal sword, that he picked up on the battlefield, because he didn't want to kill Yone.

The old man is an azakana as well. He is the azakana of yasuo. Feeding from his regret, then it weakens after he accepted his emotions

see, there is a lore behind this video, let me try to clarify
- Yasuo's master is called Souma, and as u could notice, yasuo has some powers related to wind.
- Riven (that woman imprisioned in the coloseum fight in the Awaken video) was an exiled from Noxus, she posseses that green sword u guys saw in Awaken.
- She wants to destroy that sword, but she cant do it by herself.
- She goes after Souma (yasuo's master) to ask if he has the strenght to destroy it
- He brakes the sword, but in the process, a wave of energy kills Souma
- That wave of energy left marks in his house similar to wind attacks.
- Everyone blames yasuo, because he was the closest to him, and had wind powers.
- That fight between those to is shortly after that.
- "im no murderer" everyone was blaming him.
- "then why are u running" he would've been killed before any proper trial

Yasuo learned the legendary wind technique from Elder Souma but during the war he was found dead killed by the same wind technique. Yasuo left him to fight in the war with the invading Noxus. Naturally he was accused of killing his master so he ran away. He wasn't the murderer after all. It was Riven who sought Elder Souma's help to destroy her wind sword but he died trying and the sword only shattered in pieces. Riven was the girl in Awaken who fought Draven the executioner. The weapon she uses there is only a piece of that legendary sword.
13:27 that's correct! Yasuo's voice actor, Liam O'Brian, has done a lot of work in games and animated shows, including Gaara in the Naruto English dubs.
His best performance was Asura in Asura's Wrath, imo.

You are right about the path, the demon (it is called an azakana) is like a lesser demon and it feeds from his negative emotions to grow stronger, kill him and become a full on demon. The mask he wears is actually a part of that demon. And the place he woke up is something like afterlife, although I am not sure if I remember that correctly
Nah, you're right. It's the spirit world, which (at least in Ionia) you have to travel through before you reach the true afterlife. Dark spirits try to tempt you off the path as you walk, which happened in the cinematic. Feeding from your negative emotions, they gain sentience and become a sort of half-demon. If you're defeated by one, they can use your soul as fuel to become a full demon.
If you've ever seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, it's really similar to the Spirit World in that show. They come from the same mythological concept.

To clarify why Yasuo says he's no murderer, he was the only one who was taught the wind technique by the Great Master Souma. Later, Ionia would be invaded by Noxus, Mel from Arcane's native country. He was asked to stay to protect the Elder Souma, but was dissatissfied with this, thinking that he would be able to turn the tides by himself, and ended up leaving to the battlefield, where he realized he vastly underestimated war. However, upon his return to the school, he learned that the Elder had been killed by a wind technique, leading to everyone suspecting him as the only inheritor of this technique. This is when he runs away, his brother Yone catches up, and they have their duel to the death.
The true culprit has since been revealed to be Riven, another playable character, a soldier of Noxus who owns a magic blade inscribed with several runes, able to produce windslashes. In actuality though, it has been revealed to be an accident from when she tried to desert after seeing Noxus' chemical warfare (Singed from Arcane actually developped the poison), and went to the Elder to ask him to break her blade. Something went wrong, and he ended up dying.
She was actually put under trial by Ionians, and would have been found guilty if Yasuo hadn't intervened after learning the truth. In the end, she was sentenced to helping the community rebuild, which is what she had been doing anyway. Both of them are still feeling guilty though, Yasuo for leaving his post which led to the Elder's death, and Riven for having participated in the killings of many Ionians, among which the Elder's.
I still get emotional remembering the story of Riven's adoption.
Souma died when Riven asked him to break her blade to cut her ties to Noxus. But breaking the blade ended up killing Souma from the wind magic within it.
The Path is a ancient legend in Ionia. It just lined up to what Yone also went through after his death. Both were being guided through the realm of death to their final resting place by the Nine Tail Fox, but both fell victim to being lured away by an Azakana (a lesser demon who feeds on different emotions).
They both successfully beat their Azakana just for it to try in a last ditch effort to curse them. Placing it's mask on their face. Yone becoming a Azakana Hunter to find a way to break the curse.
To understand Kin of the Stained Blade you have to go back to the Noxian invasion of Ionia. Yasuo was tasked with being the personal bodyguard of the Elder Souma who taught him the Wind Techniques you saw him use.
But Yasuo wanted so much to prove himself and protect Ionia that he abandoned his post to slaughter a Noxian Garrison that was setup in a village nearby.
Well a Noxian deserter named Riven came to the Elder to see if he could use his arts to destroy her cursed runic blade so she could safely disappear into hiding. Upon shattering the blade with his arts, a shard accidentally pierced and killed him. With Riven understandably running away from the scene and only what would appear to be Wind Magic wounds on Souma's body, Yasuo is blamed and hunted by his own clan including his older brother, in self-defense he killed them.
He and Riven were later exonerated in a trial held in his village. Hence why now he can walk around with no major problems.
But his lingering quilt was why he tried to participate in the festival because like in the Mexican Day of the Dead they can communicate with their lost loved ones except literally. But unfortunately his quilt attracted another Azakana in the old man.
When it's over Yone says the Demon's name as he kills him, allowing for his capture as a mask to keep him from later resurrecting.

That's the chronological order for this set of videos. The Climb is the season cinematic for 2018, like the other's you've seen.
AFTER ALL THAT, then you go watch the 2021 cinematic: Ruination as the continuation.
There's a big story from the Sentinels of Light event, which you could debatably skip as it's not Riot's finest literary moment, put mildly.
As a bonus, you can then watch Thresh: Unbound as an epilogue to that story.
Before Senna: Dark Passage, they should watch the first 35 seconds of Lucian: The Purifier's Resolve
Can recommend watching the "Tales of Runeterra" videos for an overview of the different regions of Runeterra, they give a good sense of the regions and the types/values in each. Perhaps also take a glance at a map of Runeterra so you know where the regions are located in relation to each other. Generally having a sense of each region is a nice way to quickly relate a champion and their possible relations as some of the lore is quite bound together.
The story is that the land where they are (Ionia) is at war with Noxus. Yasuo was supposed to protect their master but instead went to fight and the master got killed. But everybody thought Yasuo was the killer because no one knew he left and wasnt with him and the injuries matched Yasuo's technique as well. So Yasuo run, his brother, Yone, went after him and in the end Yasuo killed him.
And yes, they are both champions in the game. Also, the end scene refers to Riot's other game "Ruined King: A League of Legends Story". You could watch the trailer for that, its really cool.

Yone and Yasuo's Master was killed and the one and only they suspected was Yasuo because he was ordered by Yone to stay behind with him at their School.
Yasuo was actually suspected because the technique uses to kill their master was a wind technique. And the only one that they knew (yone and other students) that used wind technique was yasuo.

You pointed out that he sounded like Gaara from Naruto and you're right. It's the same voice actor, Liam O'Brien. Another really stand out character he does is Illidan Stormrage from all the World of Warcraft games.

One thing to note that I find really interesting about Kin of the stained blade is the moment around 14:00 and then during their fight. You see before that the land is filled with life and vitality, so when Yasuo accuses Yone of failing Ionia he isn't saying it for nothing.
Great reaction, guys. Love your thoughts and ideas. You did mention about pop is not your type of music. Well, here is my list of favorite groups/singers. #1 of all time, The Moody Blues. Greatest rock band ever ;-) And then the rest of my favs - Enya, Kate Bush, Home Free, Rush. Honorable mention - Lindsey Stirling, who introduced me to dubstep.
As far as continuing stories go through the cinematics, the Ruination story line does that. Actually part of the story takes place at the end of Kin of the Stained Blade, Yasuo and Ahri end up in Bilgewater and get caught up in the Ruination. An event where an ancient king is awakened and takes over areas of Runeterra searching for his lost queen. Yasuo and Ahri's roles are in the game called Ruined King, so you wont actually see them in the Ruination cinematics. Those focus on a different team trying to take down King Viego.
The pinned comment explained really well the lore between these 2 characters, you might want to check the tales of Runeterra playlist, to learn more about each region culture. And after that check ruined king launch trailer which takes place after kin of the stained blade.
By the way, the story continues from this cinematic in The Ruined King game. There's also an opening cinematic and the trailer for the game you could check out.
Fun fact: The voice actor of Yasuo is the same actor who did the voice of Gaara in the dubbed version of Naruto

The reason Yasuo sounds like Gaara from naruto is that they have the same voice actor. Dont remember the name tho. I just remember thinking the same years ago and I had to go check it out.
By going to the war he RAN from home where he was needed to protect elder Souma and the school. That's why yone said "why are you running"

By the ways, at the end; the women on the boat with Yasuo is Ahri and is the small spirit fox you saw before leading Yone through the after life.

BTW: The lady in the robe at the end is Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox (you can tell by the markings on her face). In "The Path" you see her in her spirit animal form... at the end of Kin of the Stained Blade, you see her in her 'human' form -- i.e. the one she appears as when you play her in the game. In both videos, she is acting as a Spirit Guide. :)
the fox in the path is not ahri. its the fox who guides dead on the ionian myth.
in the game she receive that skin bc its sells, but the fox is not ahri.

Both tales happens in Ionia, the best place of runeterra. So, Yasuo learned a technique that allows him to use wind to fight from his master, elder souma. During a war between Ionia and another country, named Noxus, Yasuo was assigned with the duty of protecting both elder souma and the school where he learned swordsmanship in, but he thought that that wasn't a worthy duty at time, since he could go to help Ionia in the war and went to the battlefield. Elder souma was killed by a wind technique, and since it was his job protecting his master, he was accused of his murder, after all, since he can use wind techniques, and ryouma was killed by wind, looked like he did it. Devastated, Yasuo ran away to avoid death and to prove his innocence, at the same time he wanted to find and kill the real culprit. Yone, his older brother found him and tried to kill him to avenge Ryouma's death, and Yasuo had to fight him to death, in the end he had to kill his brother to survive.

Yasuo is instructed to guard his master while Yone and other Ionians joined the war

When Yasuo came back, their Master was killed and evidence is that the master was killed by a Wind style technique and there is only 1 student of the Wind style which is Yasuo making him the suspek. That's why on the first part Yone said "You sworn to protect him(the master)
Yasuo fled thinking he is not going to win his case, chased by his brother Yone. Yasuo won and killed Yone and Yone was taken to the spirit world"which is the first video". In the spirit realm, Yone was tempted by the Demon instead of following the Fox (basically Yone went to hell instead of heaven) Yone was told about his failure and guilt on failing to protect his comrades during the war"stated by the statue"you could have saved them"" making Yone fight his demon which is called an Azakana. Yone won but the demon decided to make Yone a Hunter so that the spirit of that demon will not diappear fusing with Yone and being resurected as The Hunter of the Azakana. The demon Yasuo met is being hunted by Yone which is coinsidentally learned that his brothers whereabouts during his hunt. In the end Yasuo accepted his guilt and decided not to run away anymore. Yasuo told Yone to have his revenge, a life for a life, (sepuku, suicide with honor done by samurais) yet Yone decided not to as it is not his destiny anymore and knows that Yasuo is innocent. In the end they are heading to Bilgewater and the continuation of the story is for the game Ruined King. The next event is the Sentinels of Light

the demons are acually their inner demons manifasting , yone managed to overcome it and merged with it in spirit realm , while yasuo was still haunted by his "demon" . thats why the old man said at some point "as long as he lives i will always return"

If you want to continue Yasuo's story, I would recommend playing the game "Ruined King: A League of Legends Story," which features a party of six champions from League of Legends coming together to explore the Shadow Isles, a haunted archipelago in the far southeast of the known map. While there, Yasuo and the rest of the party come across a threat concealed in the heart of the Black Mist that enshrouds the isles that, if unleashed, would rain Ruination upon Runeterra.

Basically, Yasuo wants to go fight, then the people who he's supposed to protect at home died and people thought it was him, so his brother hunt him down then "i'm no murderer" and "why are you running"
If you've not seen it before, you should consider doing a reaction video for Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. It's one of the greatest films of all-time.

The understanding is Yone didn't let Yasuo kill him, Yasuo is just more naturally gifted than Yone. The older brother took offense to Yasuo's "you have nothing to prove" because he's always trying to prove himself knowing there are those like Yasuo who are naturally better swordsman than him.
They Yone and Yasuo both in game they r very good champs also very dificult to learn to play u need good skills to play em

People usually don't react to this cinematic because it wasn't published on league oficial site, but it was made for the same event for a diffente league game created by riot. The explains the story behind the ruined king.
You should watch this one just after "Senna: The shadow embrace"

I'm unsure if this was already mentioned (in which case: ignore this comment).
Arcane was a very nice show but it focused on very little of the main Lore for the League of Legends. I've seen many an "Arcane fan" go into the various lore videos for League of Legends, and be satisfied w/being overly confused and not knowing/learning anything about the world of RuneTerra and its history. However, you guys seem different in that you seem hungry to learn.
The world of RuneTerra stretches far beyond the dual city-states of Piltover & Zaun. The League of Legends is a political arena where champions chosen by political leaders duke it out in order to resolve the political issues of their respective governments. This is done to prevent all-out war in the world of RuneTerra. The League of Legends was started by a group of powerful summoner-mages that wished to put an end to the RuneWars (Heimerdinger had a flashback of these RuneWars during Arcane) which had gotten so out of hand that the wars were destroying the continent they were being waged on. The continent in question is named Valoran (it's just north of Piltover & Zaun), and the two factions waging the war were the proud military kingdom of Demacia & the brutal expansionist empire of Noxus (the latter of which was slightly focused on in Arcane with Ambessa Medarda). That's all the game is, we the players act as powerful summoner-mages that take control of the champions to help the various governments resolve their political issues within the League of Legends.

I assume they chose it partially because it's not too mystical, steampunk is a genre that many people are familiar with already, so they wouldn't have to use alot exposition to explain things.
