The low budget videography is actually perfect because it totally captures the reality of that time. The tiled walls. The cord telephone. The yellowish white walls. Sooo accurate of the late 90s/early 2000s.
What’s even funnier is, around this time, I bought a top of the line (still consumer-grade, though) mini DV camcorder (it even had FireWire for digitally importing to my PC!!! lol) so my band could make decent videos. Used for all our shows, practices, etc., but the best footage was when I just brought it around to random places, to school, etc. Video quality looked like this, and we thought it was so unbelievable how good it was (and for ~2003/4 or so, it *was* reallllly good lol). Man, what I would give to get all those tapes back, there must be so much pointless but amazing to me/my family and friends footage on there. Add it to the list of “mom threw it out” casualties :(
Holy nostalgia! The early 2000's..... Black Shirts, Jeans, Skater Shoes, Long Hair, & Phenomenal Music....... Fuck I hate growing up. These were the days.
that doesnt matter, it was scene/emo/tryhard kids. that means beefing over everything. Edit: okay I actually did some research, heres why When TBS was originally founded, Jesse was the bass player as well as back up vocalist for the band. While they were just getting recognition in Long Island and recording their first LP, Jesse left the band to form Brand New. That is a huge thing to do in the middle of a recording. That's when Eddie, founder of the band, recruited Adam. So, the scene during the time took that as they had beef. Because similar situations with other bands during the time ended with beef. However, no members of either band ever confirmed or escalated the situation. Actually, during a TBS Warped Tour stop, someone in the crowd held up a sign saying, "Brand New Was Right" and Adam stopped the show, called the guy out, and asked him to explain himself for perpetuating the feud.
Heywud Jablome I actually know Jesse's cousins in new Jersey and it wasnt a beef. but Jesse had left abruptly due to a band members thoughts or feelings towards his sister Carly. I was at his grandma's funeral but I could hardly act like a fanboy, or ask so what's 70x7 all about?
First of all it was a joke, and the "beef" was between John Nolan and Jesse Lacey. They were best friends growing up and John slept with Jesse's girlfriend. End of story. That's the subject of both "There's no I in Team" and "Seventy Times 7"
29 here and I've been pulling out all the old high school music. i'm from long island too and we use to have one hell of a scene. played this whole album today and also senses fail let it unfold you
i just saw envy on the coast in huntington. last month we saw geoff rickly in amityville. i really miss the long island scene. i saw quicksand play in my friends basement in huntington station lol
Man... just hit the big 3-0, but their music still takes me straight back to high school. I can instantly remember all the jealousy and angst and untequited feelings. And all the hope. And all the passion. In retrospect it’s pretty beautiful that I (we) could feel that, and I’m grateful that this music can remind me of it.
I just hit the big 3-0 too... I saw Taking Back Sunday in sixth or seventh grade & then again a couple of years later. I'm five years younger than you it seems, which isn't much, & I feel the same way about this music. Middle school was actually some of the worst years of my life as my family had a horrific tragedy & we fell apart. However, dancing angrily & joyously to this simultaneously helped keep me alive. & still does. We are young forever, if only we allow ourselves to be. Age means little (of course within an ethical realm). Our bodies may dissolve with time, but you can retain your fierceness to live.
i do wish I knew people who listened to the music I do. My favourite artist since I was 10 has been Bright Eyes / Conor Oberst. If anyone wants to be friends, respond. I have no idea how to have friends at 30. But supposedly I look 20. & I'm an okay person. I'm half joking.
You're 35 now and I'm 33 and yes, people think the music we grew up with and movies and video games some would past that, but we just evolved with it. This stuff and this song is part of us, and it's not going away. I love TBS
No, that would be Tool-Lateralus, Deftones-White Pony and Alice In Chains-Dirt. Still a great album and all, but I would take any brand new album (except for YFW, which just sucks basically) over Friends.
this album was such a nostalgic album in my youth. I'm 41, this was out in my early/mid 20's. I'll never forget how this contributed to my appreciation of music
Sometimes everything goes wrong. TBS takes me back to simpler time when I was in 10th grade and none of the stresses of today's life.. thankyou for keeping me tethered to rational thoughts.

walking home from the bus in October in 7th grade with my a7x hoodie on that was so worn out that the sleeves looked like a family of moths had celebrated thanksgiving inside of it jamming to timberwolves on my ipod while thinking about hanging out with my first crush. Now i'm stuck on a couch fearing for my life... where the time has gone.
Relating hard here. I was 2 years older when this album came out. This takes me back to putting my crush's favorite tbs songs on a mix cd (with other great "pop punk" artists), wearing a black and red Independent shirt with skinny jeans and dvs shoes with a fake barbed wire bracelet and sharpied black nails, with him teaching me how to do a kick flip behind a church in their parking lot that we almost definitely should not have been skateboarding and learning how to play tonsil hockey in... oh to be 14 again 😌
3:14 I'd never listened to Taking Back Sunday until today-I've never been into emo. But I graduated high school in May 2001, and I gotta say, these Charlie's Angels finger guns and high kick were perfect and take me right back to what so many photos from 2001-2003 looked like. 3:14
Here I am, about to turn 31..playing this for my almost 6 year old who's sick of my hip hop and asked for some "high energy music" 😂😂😂 This is what my kid is going to consider oldies 🤦🏼♀️😂
This reminds me of my highschool day. When I first smoked pot, my first punk and emo shows, when girls started to be interested in me, got into my first fight and won and my reputation went way up and no one messed with me after that but my biggest focus was girls girls girls lol the good ole days my goal back then was to date as many girls at once without them finding out and that was easier back then because all we had was myspace and only certain people used it back then lol I matured alot once I hit college and met my college sweetheart and only focused on her and ended up having kids young and she passed and I been raising my kids on my own ever since and all my focus is on my kids and I haven't been with anyone since their mom really I tried to get back in the dating game recently but it's hard on me because I know my soulmate is already gone... Life can take a huge turn even when your so happy you think nothing can stop you but just keep sprinting and never stop... I'm tearing up as I type this... Life is so short so please just enjoy it with people that make you feel like you are the only one in their life.... 😢
The most relatable comment I have ever seen on youtube. It sounds dumb but I'm drunk as fuck and these two bands represent a massive part of my development as a human being. This is the real shit, right here.
Here I am 34 years of age regret that i never gave taking back Sunday a real chance in my middle school/ high school days. Instead I was into hardcore at the time. I think I missed out on some great shows.
I will never forget middle school yelling down the halls and my BF "i got the mic" and hearing back "you got the mosh pit". Damn feels like yesterday but yet so long ago 💚
This song evaded me for years after falling hard for it on a mix CD (when those were still dope) and I finally found it years later or, found me. Always one of my favorites. ❤️

tbs house of blues 2010 best concert ever! I was pregnant at the time but didn't know it yet. when my sons older i can't wait to tell him he was at a taking back sunday concert!
I'll never forget the TAYF10 tour. One of the greatest concert experiences.of my life seeing one of my favorite bands playing one of my favorite albums.
Ha. When I was your age there were great bands like this. I thought there would always be bands like this. Now I just listen to the same 10 bands I did back then. I miss 2001 - 2005. :(
Had a customer come up to me at work the other day and we ended up talking about old bands and he asked if anyone still listens to tbs, it sent me into a tbs binge for the last 2 weeks. Still love it just as much as when I first heard it.

Tell all your friends is still my go to album after 23 years
Turning 37 next month...and now I miss going to basement shows.💕
Absolutely best album of all time
I'm about to turn 38 and I still love it!
Me too
I wish I got to experience this as a teen.
I've got the mic, you've got the mosh pit!

Used to play these songs on the first Xbox
I'll never forget the TAYF10 tour. One of the greatest concert experiences.of my life seeing one of my favorite bands playing one of my favorite albums.
Ha. When I was your age there were great bands like this. I thought there would always be bands like this. Now I just listen to the same 10 bands I did back then. I miss 2001 - 2005. :(
I hear ya, I miss 02’-06’ ✌🏽🤙🏽
This brings me back in the best way possible.
This is like a school project I love it
Had a customer come up to me at work the other day and we ended up talking about old bands and he asked if anyone still listens to tbs, it sent me into a tbs binge for the last 2 weeks. Still love it just as much as when I first heard it.
2016 and still my favorite +10 years later
still listening ;)
The most early 2000s music video possible. Clsssic. Gotta love how different the TAYF album sounds
My love for TBS defies time - 14 years later
This was the best era of TBS
My feed went from Paramore to Yellowcard to Red Jumpsuit Apparatus to TBS. It’s a good day
And I love all 4 bands 🤘🏼
Good music is timeless that's why when I'm 60 I'll still be listening to tell all your friends.
I will never stop loving this band
I’m curious, you still love this band?
I swear when Eddie starts dancing in the kitchen cracks me up every time
Sometimes I dress up in my old clothes and listen to this for funsies.
🤣 this comment is only mildly disturbing
@@LoadingNPC04 That's nostalgia for you.
Still sing it in the shower for sure.
Hope you are still doing it 👍
dedication
used rewatch this so much as a teen. it fit in well with early TH-cam. now it just feels surreal and strange.
windows movie maker?
I love Elfen Lied so much!
While I also love elfin lied, this picture is forsure from perfect blue xD
First big live show in Orlando post covid was TBS, evergreen terrace, and emery. Great show, great energy.
This was one of my very first songs I had on my ipod nano
Yes!!! I forgot about this music video. Still listening to Taking Back Sunday after all these years.
Annie Honeybee sooo hot
Get up, get up
Come on, come on, lets go
There's just a few things
I think that you should know
Those words at best
Were worse than teenage poetry
Fragment ideas and too many pronouns
Stop it, come on
You're not making sense now
You can't make them want you
They're all just laughing
Literate and stylish (literate and stylish)
Kissable and quiet (kissable and quiet)
Well that's what girls dreams are made of
And that's all you need to know (and that's all you need to know)
You have it or you don't (you have it or you)
You have it or you (don't)
You have it or you
You see how much time you're wastin?
You're coward of seperatin'
Stop it, come on
You know I can't help it
I got the mic
And you got the mosh pit
What will it take
To make you admit that you were wrong?
Was his demise so carefully constructed?
Well let's just say I got what I wanted
Cause in the end it's always the same (it's justified)
Lets go
Literate and stylish (literate and Stylish)
Kissable and quiet (kissable and quiet)
Well that's what girls dreams are made of
And that's all you need to know (and that's all you need to know)
You have it or you don't (you have it or you)
You have it or you (don't) you don't
This is me with the words on the tip of my tongue
And my eye through the scope
Down the barrel of a gun (gun, gun)
Remind me not to ever act this way again
This is you trying hard to
Make sure that you're seen
With a girl on your arm
And your heart on your sleeve
Remind me not to ever think of you again
This is me with the words
On the tip of my tongue
And my eye through the scope
Down the barrel of a gun
Remind me not to ever act this way again (again)
Again (again)
This is me with the words
On the tip of my tongue
And my eye on the scope
Down the barrel of a gun
I'll never act this way again
Rest the weight (I know somethin that you don't know)
You've had your chance and folded
Don't hold your breath
Because you'll only make things worse
Rest the weight (I know somethin that you don't know)
You've had your chance and folded
Don't hold your breath
Because you'll only make things worse
This is me with the worst (I know somethin that you don't know)
Intentions, don't (I know somethin that you don't know)
Hold your, hold your breath (I know somethin that you don't know)
Because you'll only make things worse
Hold your breath
Because you'll only make things worse
Hold your breath
Because you'll only make things worse (I know somethin that you don't know)
i'm pretty sure an old friend mike directed this timeless masterpiece. what a random nostalgia trip.
addicted to this song
I’m still listening to these guys 💜
Crazy to think I wasn’t even a year old when this album came out and yet it’s still easily my favorite album that I will always love more than life
That album had nothing but hits
31 years old and I’m still here
This video was so bad, I was crying tears of laughter. Oh man, they were so cute.

I've listened to all of their albums, know every lyric, yet this is the first time I'm seeing this music video for some reason. I was taking a drink of water when the scene of Adam in the shower started, and I inhaled water and I just started choking.
This music video was on a $100 budget and still doesn't disappoint in 2020
wow this old memorys, will love this still in 2020
Emo not dead 🖤🤘☠️🐼.
Never will die
im only 17 but i dont even care, ive been listening to this since i was 13 and it still brings me back
No rap beef, street beef, or any beef at all will compare to the beef between Brand New and Taking Back Sunday.
Oh my where have I been.. Being a fan for years but seeing this for the first time.
My quote on my MySpace page was “I’ve got the mic, and you’ve got the mosh pit”
This video makes me sad, but so many good nostalgic memories
