I was in the middle of improving my Rokket deck when the banlist dropped now I have to choose something different for my Lv8 Synchro for now I am using Buster Dragon and 3 Superpoly targets Starving Venom Borrelload and Five Headed Dragon for Full Boards....
@swimwithgarrett I guess I will use Shooting Riser Dragon to get better Synchro plays in my BorrelRokket Deck Normal Lv Rokket Tracer Activate Quick Launch for Lv3 Rokket go into Shooting Riser Send Rokket Synchron hope you have a Lv4 extender or Boot Sector Launch to Sp.Summon a Lv4 to have Lv10 Option or a Lv6 Bystial for Tzolkin line -> Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon this line hinges on playing as long as possible without using Rokket Tracer so that you can extend your play with Stardust Synchron by Tributing Tzolkin and Sp. Summon it from Grave go for Striker Dragon it gets banished by its effect use Dis Pater to revive it .... A convoluted mess but given that you can use Crossout TTT and Thrust ... Lv10 Line Dis Pater or Black Winged Assault Dragon and then DLink I am going to try this XD to salvage my Synchron and DLink Deck by combining them.
Or just well... Dragon Tuner and non-Tuner Dragon Tuner? Like it will still Dragon centric Deck Boss but now it will be harder for non-Dragon centric Decks to make it especially those who has Archetype and/or Monster Type Locks.

Seeing this list is sad. There are cards still banned from 5 years ago when i quit. Cards that made budget players capable of keeping up with top meta decks.
They could have easily made both cards ultimate rares in a ots to keep sales going, terrible hits, didn't even use either card alot but seeing this community get screwed over and celebrate it is wild.
Get more worried snake eye will end the board with colossus lol 😂 so enjoy ya savage and barrone were too broken they weren’t played but still they could’ve Been used 😂😂😂😂
I feel like it’s free until the banlist after Rarity Collection 2, Wraitsoth is getting its reprint in that set so it makes sense for all those cards to be free. Once it gets reprinted they’ll probably hit Kashtira or D Shifter
@@smb-c3po Putting Pendulum cards in a non-pendulum deck is not something you do. You either play a full pendulum deck or you don't, they're the least generic mechanic in the game, so I never understood the hate; it's not like Link monsters during MR4 where *every* deck was forced to play them if they wanted to use their other ED cards. You don't like them? You can just ignore them completely.
I’m sure pure snake eyes is still good, and I’m sure there will be new combo lines to learn, but I’m feeling Fire king snake eyes is gonna be the way to go
Colossus came back before Simorgh, and if I didn’t take Konami TCG seriously/couldn’t stand them before, I DEFINITELY don’t now. It’s almost insulting at this point. And I have nothing against colossus either! I’m HAPPY it’s back.
I play bird decks exclusively and not getting my Simorgh back is pissing me off be cause I cant play any of my bird decks the way I want. I want my bird back.
@@dbomba Yeah, and Snake-Eyes is everywhere, even in Online. Decks that gets used the most are the ones that usually gets hit. Konami will NOT hit the actual Snake-Eyes or Fire King cards since we have yet to receive the Snake-Eyes and Fire King Supports from the OCG.
@@BGLoscar So hit Snake-Eyes. Linkuriboh's grand evil schemes before that deck came around was letting Dinos have a one card UCT line in Animadorned Archosaur and function as an advantage engine in Altergeist. How hard is it to figure out that all of these cards suddenly becoming a problem two months ago might be related to the deck that came out two months ago?
honestly, I would say cards like barrone and savage are much less problematic than the busted spells they negate. Youll literally lose a game to any spell without an omni. Spells do entirely too much now. You let any spell resolve and its GGs most of the time
You definitely exaggerating when you say any spell. I can understand if you say that about the general main deck staples, but not any spell. There are spells that act ad board wipes and they will likely still not become staples because most modern decks have some way to play around them or after they are used, or are immune to them. Spells mainly suck for decks that need baronne or savage, which does suck.
@chewdoom8415 its not just spells like thrust, talent, dark ruler, droplet or superpoly, prosperity etc that im talking about. Even spells that essentially build a board by themselves will be the reason you end up losing. Thats kinda what most spells in competent decks are doing, weather its floo map, branded fusion/opening, preprep, bonfire/original/wanted, rota, runick, kash birth/theosis, kings sarc, tear planet, calarium etc you get the point. If its not breaking a board, its definitely gonna make one, which spells ggs
@@jameeljohnson19 Really goes back to what I said. The decks with good cards can handle that, especially when you consider how much easier it is to break boards with spell cards now
As a branded player I am completely shocked they didn't ban Gimmick Puppet or Sanctfire. Both of those were completely dodged. Otherwise list was pretty good.
The TCG Tournaments have 3 rounds while OCG has 1 round only. If your opponent went first and built an unbreakable board, just immediately scoop, so the opponent would not know what you are playing, side in interruptions or anti board breakers and hope that's enough for you to win, then side in Board Breakers on Game 3. Hit on Flood Gates like Summon Limit and Anti-Spell Fragrance are justified. Disagree on Collosus though since that's a Walking Flood Gate.
@@e-tan3911 I should have been more specific. Yes, their YCS is a best of 1 due to larger turn out while non-YCS are BO3 (or depending on the OTS). Regardless, Flood Gates promotes ZERO interaction. You can't have multiple omni negates on your board plus a set flood gate. That's too much. You already played on your turn, it is only fair that you allow me me to play on MY TURN, to break your board.
@@e-tan3911Snake Eyes had ZERO hits. This is a delusional statement. Literal tier 0 is still untouched. They can make the most impossible boards and have ZERROOOOOOOOO HITS.
So none of my main competitive decks got hit. I play Furniture Labrynth, Branded , Vanquish Soul and Voiceless so happy for that. I’m torn on the Baronne and Borreload Savage hits … really it’s the Baronne hit for me. Something about it really doesn’t sit right with me. My lower power decks being Scareclaw , Ghoti and a few more decks I feel like auto lose to Nib or any other equalizer card like Duster , Evenly and LS. I’m perfectly fine with easily accessible omni negates being benched but in turn I think that these oppressive / you cannot respond to going 2nd cards might have to be looked at in the future. Especially if Konami is going to make more decks like Tenpai that thrive going 2nd.
This is spot on, people are missing the forest for the trees with barrone, its often a bandaid for bad decks and the good decks that abuse it are often making 4 or 5 other unfair things along side it it like mannadium or snake eyes, which make it and then have BS extenders that let them keep playing after making it.
@@vla1ne No. Most if not all lower power deck have some type of lock may it be Archetypal , attribute or type. Scareclaw locks you into Scareclaw monsters once you use Tri-Hearts Reborn effect , so making a Baronne 1st with Visas Starfrost and Reichheart before Tri-Heart was the best play vs Nib or any other threat. Crystal Wing / Utopic Draco Future are good generic boss monsters but for lower power decks they don’t have the resources to make these or it requires you to play bricks in the Main and also Sacrifice spots in ED. To make Utopic you need a minimum of 4 ED slots and at least perform 5-6 summons to brings him using the best engine with Ghosttrick. Crystal wings materials aren’t generic enough to make for most decks to make unless Revolution Synchron and Ancient FD become staples in everyone decks just to make it then at that point….we’ve haven’t fixed the problem.
@@ora5799 exactly, Baronne in my eyes wasn’t a problem, Baronne+Crystal Wing+Appo+ Archetypal Boss monster with protection + Counter Trap+ graveyard follow up was the issue. Ultimately I think this is Konami trying to fix game design theory from an era we are passed. We in era where they want to move away from negates to make interactions. Tear , Kash and Snake Eyes are clear examples of them trying them trying to new things that are not negates. I just hope with the direction that they are moving is that they can make all decks in the future along the same power level. Hopefully this means reducing pack filler , reducing the amount of bad archetypes and giving meaningful legacy support to old strategies.
I’ve been on a Fleur deck since it came out waiting for Konami to give support waves to my favorite decks. Losing my ace is a severe morale hit and makes me not want to play the deck anymore. I want to do Sherry things with the Sherry cards, now there’s no “goal” in-theme. And Konami *still* hasn’t given my favorite decks waves!
anime fans are always like this “why did this extremely generic boss monster get banned i only used it in my anime deck??” lol konami doesn’t cater to y’all.
I understand how you feel, Konami needs to work on the support they put out for archetypes. Like Rescue-ace doesn't have any extra deck cards yet,.... however, you should be upset with all the players that absolutely abuse BDFleur by putting it in every deck and spamming it to the field just to hurt other players. Like the worst feeling in the world playing Yu-Gi-Oh is when you duel someone who stops you from playing and fighting back. OTKs are fine when you get the card combos, but such a basic easy to summon boss that you can literally throw into any deck and just lock out the competition is too much.
Note to self. Buy Baronne De Fleur. The ban list will make the price drop fully. Through kinda nervious about attraction towards the level 10 sword soul so may need to get one asap.
Sure, but the stuff they hit is actually in the better interest of the game as a whole. They’re aware of how bad super generic bosses are and are restricting it. That’s good
@@CreaturesOfTheMarsh they must have severe cognitive disonnance if they think that banning them because they ar bad for the game while unbanning protos and colosus.
@ora5799 protos and colossas are at least themed. Not EVERY deck make them. In fact very few can, and they aren't hurting much at one, especially not protos which is hard to search out without small world. Baronne and Savage could be made by ANY DECK, and almost always were. If someone NORMAL SUMMONED their ash mid combo, you KNEW what they were making. That's a huge problem. If a deck that can function with 3 attributes can not only get protos to hand but summon it, cool. They can have it. I can also imperm, effect veiler, or even dd Crow the material required for summon, you see because it doesn't out the out like baronne and Savage do and is much harder to make.
The game has been this way for so long. To make any substantial permanent they would essentially have to reboot the whole game. They won't do that since people still spend all of the money on the game and it's still going strong. When players say that a new list of bans are good then Konami is off the hook and the cycle continues.
I remember people saying the format in 2019 was pretty good, and from memory, I don’t remember a lot of omni negates, or negations in general, it felt more like the recourse management format.
Lmao, they effectively buffed Snake Eye with their ability to run the Striker engine with Engage to 3 in spite of not hitting the engine pieces like Ash and banning the omni negates. Heck, most even had High Avatar Kirin getting hit in some capacity as far as the Fire Kings are concerned. Still have Apollousa chillin. 🤣🤦♂️
when Appoullusa gets reprinted on rarity collection 2 it will get banned, cause look what happened to Baronne and Borell dragon when they finally became reprinted and affordable X_X
Thankfully! You have no idea how many times I could've Nibbed but I couldn't because of this card. I would need another hand trap to bait its negate just so I could Nib the field, but that only happens in my dreams.
Level 10 decks simply won't exist anymore in any meaningful capacity because their viability is toast. Snake-Eyes can pivot. Other decks can't. This is a failure.
They didn't hit the tier 0, but they gave back a lot of tools that other decks can use to handle it. on top of that, the tools we got back are generally relegated to certain deck types, so end boards _ought_ to be less generic.
@@vla1ne what tools?? Snake eyes can find ways to use protos and Colossus. If anything they literally buffed it because less other decks on the table exist.
@@Fencer_Nowa nope. putting it simply, calling fire with protos kills the whole engine, many other decks that have a shot in the meta do not have this issue to the same degree, they aren't as weak at colossus, but colossus is another question anyways also, almost every snake eyes player that i have faced and watched has used linkuriboh to both start plays, and to interrupt/gain resources. that can no longer be done, they have lost a valuable playmaker, while gaining a new weakness in the meta. that is all i am going to say, i don't even care to address further complaints at this point. the deck got hit indirectly, that's more than i expected, and thus i'm fine with it. you can complain all you like elsewhere.
I hope they come back with erratas like: baronne needs chevalier de fleur if it fits her lore like a promote but makes it harder to summon, and borreload savage can only equip only rokket monster link(make a good new one to buff dlink) to fit their gun theming.
I give the list a 3 out of 10. Indirectly affecting something doesn't fix an actual problem. Them bringing back scary combo pieces also shows that the next wave of Yu-Gi-Oh is going to be insane.
I'm just mad they make affordable reprints of cards like Borreload Savage and Baronne, only to ban it less than a year later. I waited to get them cheap and... I totally agree they were overtuned and needed to be restricted somehow. But it just sucks. Wait all this time and... it's gone.
I agree. Baronne took forever for a cheap reprint. Now that everyone has one, they ban it and not even touch snake-eyes at all. This is my main gripe with the list. Konami cashed out on Rarity Collection and then banned Baronne. Makes me very concerned with Rarity collection 2 and they pull of this rug pull again.
TCG KoMoney targets cheap cards and NOT the expensive broken cards. And cares about money and Unban unicorn kirin and doesnt touch snake eyes. 0 balls smooth brain mentality. Linkuriboh did nothing wrong. And TD Colossus and Archnemeses Protos?? Bruh, make the game more toxic with Calamity still here.

Both Borrel and Baronne just need Errata’s for their material costs. Baronne just needs to be used with ‘Fleur Syncron’ But honestly a Synchron that substitutes itself for other Syncrons works too (ie Quickdraw). Borrel needs either a dragon Tuner or a Rokket Tuner.
Very dirty of them to reprint and then ban. But this isn't their first rodeo so....also I agree about giving reasons for their changes. Bandai gives a reason why cards get banned limited and errata'd and the transparency is much appreciated.
These bans are meaningful, personally I'd also like to see a hit to Apollousa. Maybe if it and it's Alt Art get reprinted in RC2 we could see a hit by the end of the year.
If you think baronne and borrel savage getting hit was a long time coming then more power to you but the unhitting of protos and colossus shows me this wasn't about hitting the generic ED bosses. To be honest I prefer an omni like baronne over floodgates like protos and colossus, but again that's besides the point. I can only see their hitting as being attempts to hit snake-eyes without putting a dent in their super profitable cards and using that logic and hitting baronne and borrel savage is infuriating to me since this doesn't hit snake-eyes who can just bring out the next best thing or rely on other cards in their endboard. meanwhile alot of lower to the ground decks have a much harder time dealing with baronne or savage's absence. Also these were two major reprints from the rarity collection and they are now banned and replaced with two cards that weren't in it and that's just scummy
I have mixed feelings about the Baronne and Savage hits - I get the argument about powerful extra deck monsters centralising decks around the same end boards but it's the same issue as any powerful staple - they give weaker decks a route to compete but they make the good decks even stronger. So the best decks have lost a few tools but some rogue strategies have been crippled.
I bought savage and baroness today, the seller sent it 30 minutes later, 2 hours later the ban list came out... The shipping cost was higher when the cards in Brazil, I guess I ripped some bucks... Fck you Konami

One thing I will say is I will continue to play decks like Spright where Nibiru isn't a factor because of cards like Gigantic Spright and Spright Red and White Woods will buff this deck a lot when it comes out. I've already done a ton of testing and for hand traps to invalidate your turn your opponent will almost always need Nibiru, Ash Blossom, and Droll in their opening hand to stop you because despite having enough plenty of room for non-engine it almost never runs out of gas. You summon or special summon a White Woods lv.2 and you almost never have to normal Spright Blue or Spright Jet. You just keep searching cards and special summon from hand, deck, and grave. Special summoning Arturia during your opponents turn gives you fuel for Spright Red and Spright Carrot and the other cards in grave can come back and fuel for I:P into Little Knight or I:P into a easy 3 material Apollousa. Most people will say 9 non-engine isn't good enough but when people see it in practice and realize it has more gas than Branded when Branded goes uninterrupted despite my version being a 40 card deck they'll see how much having more than 9 non-engine matters for this deck.
All hits like this will do is make weaker decks worse. With Barrone and savage gone the only thing that will happen is that decks will just shift towards a different strategy, play different negate options or drop dead from being unplayable. The main reason if not the only reason why these 3 were banned was because of snake-eye and nothing else. They can’t severely hit a $1000+ deck yet so for now it’s collateral damage. I wouldn’t be surprised if all 3 of these get unbanned eventually once snake-eye gets hit and gets hit HARD. And even then I don’t think these bans hurt the fire king variant that much. And I think a synchro variant is still playable. I will never stop being amazed at the short sightedness of people who celebrate these bans as if end boards will get that much less generic. As if Konami banned these cards because of the cards themselves and not the top tier meta deck that’s abusing them. And on the idea of people playing more in-archetype bosses I say get real, barrone and savage being banned won’t change the fact that a lot of these archetype bosses are trash.
@@exodusuno well I’m not that bothered by the bans. It will be a chore adapting my decks but it’s possible. However I am only trying to be blunt and speak it like it is. Then again my prediction could be right or wrong who knows, only time can tell.
Different strategy? Nah now it's meta or it's nothing. Rogue decks are basically now dead. FK Snake Eyes though is probably now the best build so there's that.
is a rogue deck really good if the only thing it can bring on the board is Baronne? and no, archetype boss monsters are not trash, it's just players want too much, now Baronne is banned, players would give more value to archetype boss monsters
@@vonakakkola 1.) no and I never meant to imply that. What I am saying is that having those tools helped them against a lot of archetypes that were naturally superior. I say that these bans are shortsighted because they don’t change much if not anything at all about how meta and rogue decks play. They will still lean towards generic Omni-Negates/Interruptions some of which are the cards people complained about before Fleur and savage (crystal wing for example). 2.) I said a lot not all, meaning that a significant number of these archetype bosses are either bad or subpar. Out of all the decks I play that used baronne, the only one where I could see people pivoting towards the archetype bosses are Synchron/Stardust and maybe Speedroid. Even that that probably won’t happen, because if a lot of these cards weren’t being played while baronne and savage were around they probably wouldn’t be played now. However a lot of archetype bosses are good if not great, but they were most likely being played already anyway.
i just hope that they don't hit apo next because then Pendulum and Mannadium are basically almost dead and the thing is it is good that the are going more towards in-archetype boss monster but the problem is deck like Pendulum just don't have good in-archetype bossmonsters except maybe vortex which is just not enough and also Nibiru is now a huge problem for these kinds of decks to the point that it's borderline unfair. So unless they give these decks good in-archtype boss monsters, this just makes bad decks even worse
Apollousa will be HIT after the RA02 (TCG Rarity Collection 2). They just did not hit it now because it is about to get a reprint. It will suffer the same fate as Baronne. Multiple Rarity reprint in RA01, only to get hit a few months later.
If they were gonna hit those cards they should've printed actually good substitutes beforehand but then again this is Konami. Killer of rogue decks and shiller of meta.

It and Barrone are rogue deck cards at this point they didn't deserve the ban. Appolousa however rewards decks that puts up multiple bodies on the field at once which is something most weaker decks don't do.
Pure Snake-Eye was able to make Savage Dragon easily to stop Nibiru and was able to use the equipped Linkuriboh as a card to send off the Snake-Eye Ash or Oak so it was free material.
@@BGLoscar a generic that requires you to commit to link combos and able to make a synchro 8. There's a point where a generic tool fits into a very niche deck type post pote which it did.
I would be interested in seeing retrains of the floodgate cards with the restriction that you can only use them at the start of your first main phase or something similair to prevent people from circumventing the floodgate themselves. Although that would probably require them to be reworked as spells.
This might be just me, and i am someone who likes floodgates because i play non-competitive decks, but i feel that a good way to make the game more approachable and to help with deck construction, is to do what duel links does with the limited lists. A person can only have 1 card on the limited list and can only have 2 from semi-limited. So lets say you have monster Reborn in your deck, that would mean you can't use anti-spell fragrance or another card on the limited list. Same thing for the semi-limited list.
I have very mixed feelings on this ban-list. The Positives: The hits on floodgates, such as “Anti-Spell Fragrance” and “Summon Limit” were much needed, as they prevented the player from interacting with an established board in a meaningful fashion. Hitting “Linkuriboh” lowers the power ceiling of “Snake-Eyes” and other FIRE-based Decks in terms of their recursion/ability to extend and convert the monster into powerful Link monsters, such as “S:P Little Knight” and “Decode Talker Heatsoul”. The Negatives: Releasing monster-based floodgates in “Thunder Dragon Colossus” and “Archnemeses Protos” is a very bad idea, given that they both have protection effects and are generally very difficult to interact with, even compared to Continuous Trap-based floodgates. Though only time will tell if they will have an impact on the meta or not. The Neutral: Much of the community were clamoring on “Baronne de Fleur” and “Borreload Savage Dragon” being hit because of their ability to negate an opponent’s cards/effects with little drawback and it seems Konami has delivered to that section of the player-base. Personally, I don’t think these two are nearly as oppressive as people make them out to be, but what’s done is done.
About the neutral: That's exactly what I thought😂 First time I saw and played those two was on Master duel, I read them and said they are good, but this is not the be all end all... Why so much crying about it! People come and say all you want, but for me they were balanced, and didn't represent any major problem... Now they hit them and guess what, the format will be the same... So my question is... Was the banlist for the game in general or to keep snake eyes king?
i'm happy they don't hit Link Hiita, i'm a Charmer player and i would be very upset if they ban a card from my archetype (which isn't even so broken) just for hit Snake eyes
As a ROKKET lover I give my salute 🫡 to Borreload savage dragon! But this was definitely the right hit. Monsters like that should have an in archetype requirement to summon.
The one thing I don't agree with is the savage dragon hit. It at least requires set up before getting the negates and could get hit with nib before hand unlike baronne. Not to mention dragon link became way more budget friendly with all the reprints and now has lost one of its best cards.
baronne and savage are just going to get replaced by the next generic thing. Let's face it if your deck is able to turbo those two cards there is no shortage of options when it comes to extra deck monsters to choose from. Whether they are synchros or links or even xyzs.
@@mark1A100 that's kind of why i don't get all the complaints about _"baronne got hit now my rogue can't play"_ (though i *do* get the complaints about it only getting hit once it became affordable). herald can block spells and traps, the clear wings can shut down monsters, list goes on, if your deck can reach 10, then 4, 7, or 8 shouldn't be too big of a stretch, and they even unbanned cards that can help enable those boards in rogue, like terrortop, mali, and tidal (assuming you play a water deck). the answers are spread out across more levels now, they they are still very easy to reach.
@@vla1nethe issue is rouge decks are less able to produce the more diverse array of resources needed plus you may beed 2 or more to acheive the same effect.
@@mark1A100 I get that concern, but i also think that fewer "answers everything" cards is overall healthier in the game. Snake eyes still needs a hit(s) of course, but i'm not complaining about the cards that got hit (bar linkuriboh, but even then, i get it). imo, engines like adventure are optimal design, because, while they take up a lot of deck space, they can enable some really crazy things when mixed with other engines like terrortop, kashtira, or windwitches. it allows for varied interruptions and negates, while having the notable downside of cutting into deckspace. but we all know konami isn't about balance.
I'm thinking White Woods will use Red Dragon Archfiend to wipe opponents boards after using Witch Wolf to flip all of your opponents monsters to facedown defense position. It might not look like a great idea at first but a well timed Witch Wolf during opponents turn can turn Red Dragon Archfiend into a Otk enabler and the faster younend the game the less likely you are to lose. Its has a high chance of working because Witch Wolf isn't once per turn and the deck can bring it out 3 times during opponents pretty easily.

ngl I was very relieved to see Baron and Borreload go. Digimon did something recently that I've lowkey always wish that Yugioh would do, in that they've taken certain cards that are only busted when used together, and just disallowed them to be used together instead of banning them outright.
problem with baronne is that even tho it belong in 'synchro warrior' series, it doesnt need any synchron. baronne also fleur version of shooting star dragon, but, while shooting star dragon need stardust dragon for mats (and sync tuner too), baronne not even need chevalier de fleur as mats
I can see Konami's approach in experimenting TOSS with Snake-Eyes. They don't want to ban Snake-Eyes cards because its profit. They unban most TOSS cards to check if it can withstand and balance the Tier 0 of Snake-Eyes. Probably a somewhat TOSS-SE Format.
When you hit EVERY DECK you aren't actually doing ANYTHING to the meta. Snake Eyes took 0 hits. My daughters Melffy Deck got hit harder then Snake Eyes. Let the beyond expensive tier 0 format continue. Horrible list 1/10
I definitely think getting rid of the big generic synchro boss monsters is both good for the game and also possibly a business play on konami's part. The White woods archetype just so happens to be a synchro related archetype that is really powerful and this will help sell that product even more.
With all the new and upcoming archetype that has several one-card starters, can play through multiple handtraps, and can OTK and even FTK, these cards from 2019 banlist aren't scary anymore
Let's be honest here: Control strategies have been disproportionately shredded by both power creep AND the ban list over at least the last ten years. We went from having things like Tomato control and Monarchs all the way to just repeated OTK decks.
I’d be hesitant. This feels like more of a design space decision than a gameplay or game health decision to me. Even if the TCG side of the company understands that the US/Europe/Oceania/C-S-A does not like generic boss monsters on end boards, it doesn’t signal a fundamental shift in gameplay direction, in my opinion. The main OCG side of the game is still designing cards reminiscent of Poplar and the TCG doesn’t have the latitude to go outside the desires of the main company’s overall plan. Also, the Yugioh community deserves to understand the banlist hits and to understand the R&D’s decision making. Don’t be afraid to say it’s needed or that you all want it more loudly (and respectfully).
I gotta say im not a fan of hitting these floodgates. As someone who is forced to play on a budget, stun strategies off a cheap way of actually being able to play. These hits a couple of these hit feel like attacks on anyone who cant put 200-300-400 £/$ into a deck.
Linkuriboh getting hit makes me sad. He enabled the starting combos of my Skull Servant deck by giving me an easy (and cheap) link 1 to use as a way of getting witghtprinces and wightbakings into the graveyard. Soo.....what are my options now? Salamangret almirag and relinquished anima?
those two are pretty strong in skull servants. anima turn 2 forces answers, and almiraj turns just about any normal summon into plusses while granting king more protection. it's not as simple overall compared to linkiriboh, but i've been running all 3 already, and they add flexibility in ways linkuriboh doesn't.
As someone that came back to Yugioh thanks to Master Duel after many years, I would say that pvp is broken with the overpowered combos that take an eternity. I watched an older video of yours on how to fix it and thought of the following 3 general rules that I believe can fix it without changing card texts and potentially eliminating a need for ban lists: 1- You can only summon 1 new monster on every monster zone slot each turn, expect for normal monsters. I believe this will massively reduce the length of combos as you will only be able to summon up to 6 effect/extra deck/token monsters per turn. And will potentially breath new life to vanilla normal monster cards who are immune to this rule. 2- Inspired by your Summoning sickness idea on the other video, maybe a general rule that Special Summoned monsters from deck or gy (except normal monsters) have their ATK and/or DEF reduced. So, you get your favourite monster on the board with a trick, but it is weakened. This could also breath new life on vanilla normal monsters as they would be unaffected by this rule. 3- Can have only one copy per card in each deck except when you use monsters or cards that specifically require more copies of cards. Like blue eyes ultimate dragon, thunder dragon, nimble momonga etc. This should eliminate having a deck made up of just 12-14 different cards and their copies. More variety and creativity. This rule would potentially eliminate the need for ban lists.
@@yasahana4447 Sorry, to clarify I'm talking about Master Duel but assume these changes will apply there in future? I run 3 currently as you can use them all in the same turn.
@@LawlTwins Nah, Master Duel almost completely ignores the tcg banlist. This is just the tcg taking a tentative first step towards unlimiting it completely if anything.

while I find the ban on the two synchros to generally be more good than bad, it's konami's solution they sell you to the problem(s) they created. That being card design and printing policy.
I'm just happy Engage and Harp are free. TOSS format was fun as hell and 3 copies of both makes striker horus orcust a strangely powerful deck both going 1st and 2nd.
This is way better than the MtG banlist. While MtG is still iffy on banning The One Ring or Orcish Bowmasters, Yu-Gi-Oh! is doing a lot more. Granted, YGO's more volatile, but still, they're doing more to the banlist.
not a fan of baronne being hit as I don't think its too problematic personally, BUT I am a fan of TD being back =D TD decks are so fun for interactive beatdown decks to play against because they shut down the boring solitaire decks and allow for actual back and forth between creative decks. This meta is gonna get alot healthier. Konami NEEDS TO KEEP TD DECKS ALIVE. They are very healthy for the game and completely gut check decks that just want to do the same search engine loop over and over.
Yeah sure Baronne ban is fixing the game. Now every rogue deck dies to evenly. The issue is not generic boss monster the issue is konami doesn’t make good archetypes boss monsters. They are either unplayable like primeheart or broken like ariseheart
I'm happy they've banned some generic ED bosses, but knowing Konami, they're just going to release new generic 8 and 10 boss monsters, and they just did this so people will buy packs to get the new bosses. Though who knows, maybe Konami actually will keep this up and start to make the ED more diverse.
If this ban list happened six months ago, I'd be ecstatic. However, the ban list we got was just Konami hitting all the strategies that might have been an alternative to the $1.500 pile we were about to have to buy. I'm reserving my opinion on this ban list until we see the new meta in action.
I'm honestly sad about Linkuriboh, because I would often use him in my Rikka deck on the rare occasions when everything but the summon of my Petal were negated and removed. (Also, he's cute). Glad I never got around to buying Barone.
Good to see Spright is gonna make a comeback. Dinomorphia could use Chicken Game (idk how good that is though.) We knew Tidal and Kirin would be at one.
This list is alright but i honestly think that in addition to floodgates, they should look at limiting some of these hand traps...hand traps used to be like 2-5 in the main and then maybe side some more...now decks are literally maining 10-14....watching my opponent take a ten minute turn wouldnt bother me nearly as much if when i finally got to play i didnt instantly get ash'd or imperm'd...not even mentioning triple tactics, veiler, niberu, etc....am i alone in this opinion?
Banning the flood gates was a huge mistake. Combo decks can make a lock but i cant have floodgates is bs. My enjoyment is watching my opponent pissed that they cant play solitaire. I HATE combo decks. Swordsoul n old branded were fine but the game has too much that can happen.
Watch feature matches. Someone went full combo flipped summon limit and the opponent can't out it so they scooped. That is literally why they are getting hit.
Summon Limit should be Unlimited. Help a lot slower weaker decks, differen strategy stun, control, stall, trap. In the sane time they free Colossus and Protos why? And why Calamity and Sanctifire are Free? Imagine play 20 handtraps in Main deck but refuse to use backrow removal.

honestly, I would say cards like barrone and savage are much less problematic than the busted spells they negate. Youll literally lose a game to any spell without an omni. Spells do entirely too much now. You let any spell resolve and its GGs most of the time
Adamancipator Risen Dragite is still a card, assuming you can get a water monster in the GY.
@HelloKwak yeeeeeeeaaaahhh. I mean halq wouldve been absolutely perfect for that buuuut look at where we're at with that one
The decks with good cards can handle that, especially when you consider how much easier it is to break boards with spell cards now
Colossus to one without having hit certain other cards first isn't good for the game.
As a branded player I am completely shocked they didn't ban Gimmick Puppet or Sanctfire. Both of those were completely dodged. Otherwise list was pretty good.
Ya flood gates aren't fun 100% agree, but so is special summoning impossible boards.
Well guess what? The cards that made those impossible boards are getting banned as well. Floodgates got no defense.
@@BGLoscar OCG does not have 1 round. Only Japanese YCS events have best of 1. Normal Japanese events use best of 3.

This is spot on, people are missing the forest for the trees with barrone, its often a bandaid for bad decks and the good decks that abuse it are often making 4 or 5 other unfair things along side it it like mannadium or snake eyes, which make it and then have BS extenders that let them keep playing after making it.
can you not play one of the clear wings for nib? evenly may be an issue, but nib should still be pretty simple to put down an answer for.
Going second cards working as intended for once is a good thing. There's always Crossout Designator to counter Nibiru.

anime fans are always like this
“why did this extremely generic boss monster get banned i only used it in my anime deck??” lol
konami doesn’t cater to y’all.
Trust me it didn't even deserve a ban for being generic anyways. It sees more use and far more benefit in rogue decks.
Note to self. Buy Baronne De Fleur. The ban list will make the price drop fully. Through kinda nervious about attraction towards the level 10 sword soul so may need to get one asap.

@@CreaturesOfTheMarshu say that but snake eye was the problem not just savage or baronne
The game has been this way for so long. To make any substantial permanent they would essentially have to reboot the whole game. They won't do that since people still spend all of the money on the game and it's still going strong. When players say that a new list of bans are good then Konami is off the hook and the cycle continues.

Both Borrel and Baronne just need Errata’s for their material costs.

Yugioh has over 10,000 cards. The Banlist should be very big, like at least 500, to even balance the game.
I don't think you can fix this game without a reset
I have mixed feelings about the Baronne and Savage hits - I get the argument about powerful extra deck monsters centralising decks around the same end boards but it's the same issue as any powerful staple - they give weaker decks a route to compete but they make the good decks even stronger. So the best decks have lost a few tools but some rogue strategies have been crippled.
I bought savage and baroness today, the seller sent it 30 minutes later, 2 hours later the ban list came out... The shipping cost was higher when the cards in Brazil, I guess I ripped some bucks...

I might really miss borreload savage dragon
And on the idea of people playing more in-archetype bosses I say get real, barrone and savage being banned won’t change the fact that a lot of these archetype bosses are trash.
cope
There not point in talking about tcg pendulum unless electrum get unban or we get mr6 fixing pendulum

It's a generic ED w/ Omni negate. Ban is deserved. I will welcome it with an Errata though.
This list sucks. Snake eye will still own everything. And just when I learned how to summon Baronne in Voiceless Voice. Smfh.
The Positives:
The hits on floodgates, such as “Anti-Spell Fragrance” and “Summon Limit” were much needed, as they prevented the player from interacting with an established board in a meaningful fashion.
The Negatives:
Releasing monster-based floodgates in “Thunder Dragon Colossus” and “Archnemeses Protos” is a very bad idea, given that they both have protection effects and are generally very difficult to interact with, even compared to Continuous Trap-based floodgates. Though only time will tell if they will have an impact on the meta or not.
The Neutral:
Much of the community were clamoring on “Baronne de Fleur” and “Borreload Savage Dragon” being hit because of their ability to negate an opponent’s cards/effects with little drawback and it seems Konami has delivered to that section of the player-base.
Bow goddess and IP is in rarity collection 2 soooo imma assume after that they will be gone too
i'm happy they don't hit Link Hiita, i'm a Charmer player and i would be very upset if they ban a card from my archetype (which isn't even so broken) just for hit Snake eyes
"fixing"
Not really. The barrier between accessible decks and the top tier stuff has grown even wider not only price but power harder now
As a ROKKET lover I give my salute 🫡 to Borreload savage dragon!
A 1 turn set up...
baronne and savage are just going to get replaced by the next generic thing. Let's face it if your deck is able to turbo those two cards there is no shortage of options when it comes to extra deck monsters to choose from. Whether they are synchros or links or even xyzs.
Yeah but the step down is actually pretty large
😭Man why they have to banish one of my number synchro monsters of Baronne De Fleur. She ain’t hurt no body forreal because she was just riding her horse to save the crew and protect them as well.😭😭😭😭😭😭💯

@@blackbody3151 Ah yes let's not touch the good decks but ban frickin Linkuriboh, that will surely do it. In the meanwhile let's further advance in our battle against floodgates by bringing back the buff one sided Droll on legs with protection and the big searchable and indestructible barrier statue. That will do the trick for sure!
@@blackbody3151 It's atrocious. It unleashes a bunch of problems, hit a bunch of decks' solutions, and dodged literally every problem the game is currently facing. But Yugioh players have a combined IQ of a ham sandwich so they're cheering about Baronne being banned.
@@geek593Ikr Barrone saw the least amount of use in meta decks as compared to rogue decks. It really is just a way of forcing payers to just buy into meta more and more by removing everything else that's playable. Despite Maxx C existing it seems the OCG format might soon start becoming the superior one.
Malicious “yea helps hero players do whatever they do” 😂 yea that sounds about right
ngl I was very relieved to see Baron and Borreload go. Digimon did something recently that I've lowkey always wish that Yugioh would do, in that they've taken certain cards that are only busted when used together, and just disallowed them to be used together instead of banning them outright.
The Baronne hit is so massive for mannadium sadly my favorite deck has been gutted...
problem with baronne is that even tho it belong in 'synchro warrior' series, it doesnt need any synchron. baronne also fleur version of shooting star dragon, but, while shooting star dragon need stardust dragon for mats (and sync tuner too), baronne not even need chevalier de fleur as mats
Daughter's melffy deck? That's the sweetest thing I've heard today tbh.
Overall happy with the list, sad there's no calamities or pot of prosperity ban
Summon Limit should be Unlimited.
@desertline6272 Untill these dumb 20 min combo decks are dealt with yeah, there should be cheap ways to deal with them.
That opening was so subtle yet so amazing.
As someone that came back to Yugioh thanks to Master Duel after many years, I would say that pvp is broken with the overpowered combos that take an eternity. I watched an older video of yours on how to fix it and thought of the following 3 general rules that I believe can fix it without changing card texts and potentially eliminating a need for ban lists:
1- You can only summon 1 new monster on every monster zone slot each turn, expect for normal monsters.
I commented this on your other video as well. But it was a video from a few months ago so I thought I should commented here, too.
Everyone else: Wow! Cool banlist!
Paul: Anyways, you hear about this crazy thing about creating an abusive relationship? Wild right?
Chicken Game limit is pretty devastating to my Exodia deck. Big shame tbh considering the low win rate already.
But it gives you an extra draw? It was banned before
@@yasahana4447 Sorry, to clarify I'm talking about Master Duel but assume these changes will apply there in future? I run 3 currently as you can use them all in the same turn.

while I find the ban on the two synchros to generally be more good than bad, it's konami's solution they sell you to the problem(s) they created. That being card design and printing policy.
I'm just happy Engage and Harp are free. TOSS format was fun as hell and 3 copies of both makes striker horus orcust a strangely powerful deck both going 1st and 2nd.
Boss monster are basically hard to summon but barone is a boss that allows you to combo into other bosses without being interrupted

Well at this point my pet deck has had so many hits it's time to hang it up. It was fun while it lasted Eldlich.
It’s both dude.. please pay attention it’s both reasons
Rogue decks were not winning anyway, baronne loss hurts snake eyes more than it hurts your rogue deck.
So what happened before? Every rogue deck that couldn't make Baronne died to Evenly?

Obviously the meta decks that abuses Baronne is more affected than the rogue decks that can barely make Baronne.
Baronne Hit would be less bad if Chaos Angel would be affordable as a Synchro 10
I'm honestly sad about Linkuriboh, because I would often use him in my Rikka deck on the rare occasions when everything but the summon of my Petal were negated and removed. (Also, he's cute).
Glad I never got around to buying Barone.
Well thats 80% of decks not playable anymore. Except snake eyes.
Good to see Spright is gonna make a comeback.
Dinomorphia could use Chicken Game (idk how good that is though.)
We knew Tidal and Kirin would be at one.
KONAMI PLEASE just slap a Dark Dragon Tuner on Savage
Barone should have required a wind monster, savage dragon should have required a dragon monster. End of story
“Fixing yugioh” just say you are a huge boomer. They literally brought back two floodgates
Paul likes playing toxic floodgate decks lol
