You mentioned Fortissimo in the video which is honestly my favorite Legendary slug in the game. I have a pretty good All Rounder roll. It was my "In Before the Nerf" adagio roll I grinded for days none stop.

If they are removing the 2 least used perks in columns 3 and 4, and adding 3 new perks to each like how they did with the Dares weapons...
They will likely remove Col 3 [Dual Loader, Outlaw] and Col [Thresh, Unrelenting]. Definitely a good chance that Opening Shot or Fragile Focus will be on the refresh.
I would grind for opening shot + hip fire grip. But now....heavy pass.

Heritage still has more aa than a opening shot inquisitor and heritages rolls with moving target which gives another 10+ aa
Bonus: Suros origin trait will max out the handling after a reload (even with extended barrel) and give flinch resistance. Just in case you wanted a little more.
Watching CoolGuy videos, I always have to remind myself that I'm not going to make the item under review perform like he does. If I just apply a "pleb" penalty in my head, it helps keep my expectations reasonable.
It's worth remembering that because of the stat bumps from Perpetual Motion and Opening Shot, this gun can not only reach 100 Range/Handling, but ALSO 100 Stability for flinch reduction. (At least on the Adept version, the Normal can still get really close).
There's a few ways to mix-and-match perks/mods for the stats, but if you cross 75 Range and 85 Stability/Handling, you'll have all three stats at 100 when both of your perks are active.
75 Range is reached on the Adept just by masterworking the weapon for the +3 to the other stats.
85 Handling is any +10 source
85 Stability requires things like Assault Mag and Adept Stability alongside a barrel like Smallbore. Because you have alittle extra-range, you can trade rate of fire for Airborne Effectiveness by using Steady Rounds over Assault Mag.
So something like Smallbore, Assault Mag, Perpetual Motion, Opening Shot, Handling MW, Adept Stability will let you hit 100 in all three stats.
Non-adepts can land somewhere about 88 while keeping 100 Range/Handling.
The stats on this gun really are so nutty than just a 2/5 (Perpetual Motion, Opening Shot) is basically already a 5/5.

I have both perp motion fragile focus perp motion opening shot both are really good. If u end up with fragile focus don't be upset about it because it helps secure that max range and 1 hit kill. Make sure u put points into handling or even adept icarus or targeting
Great shotgun. The only weapon I think I would possibly use over this is the hipfire grip opening shot first in last out. That thing is a hipfire headshot magnet, even midair, post AE changes.

First adept drop I had was Steady Hands/Opening Shot/Appended/Hammer-Forged/Handling MW. 86 Handling, 96 Range with a mod. I'm in love.
I grabbed a Steady Hands, Opening Shot roll a few weeks back, was the second one to drop. Have yet to take it for a spin but definitely will try next time I'm in Crucible.

Got one this weekend. Weren't kidding on how easy to max range this thing. I'm not a great shot gun player, usually hit most body shots, but combine this with a side arm for some quick kills. Lots of potential love. Also Telesto trials this weekend.... What a gong show.
Will definitely be grinding this week for this... It's the Adept! Use fortissimo in the kinetic slot and love it, this'll be my baby in the energy slot

I decided to keep one that Saint gave away some weeks ago: Demo, Swashbuckler, Assault Mag, Hammer-Forged Rifling, and a stability masterwork. This genuinely feels like a PvE / PvP hybrid with this set of perks.

I just got mine, Corkscrew, Light Mag, Stability MW, Threat Detector, Opening Shot (Adept Range), ain't feeling the Flawless Pool for another but I'm not sure I need to... Thank you for the insights!
My godroll : Smallbore, assault mag, pulse monitor (sleeper pick look at what it does on gunsmith), opening shot, stability mw, quick access sling or adept targeting. Make sure to run quick charge as well.

Full bore, accurized, perpetual motion, opening shot, handling mstrwrk, adept handling is the roll I was blessed with

This thing is so easy to get a good roll of. The base range stat and Opening Shot is all you need to cap range. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
Easily a top 3 fav shotgun I’ve used in the game. Smallbore/fluted, accurized, perpetual and swash with range masterwork and it’s adept 🔥💨🔥
My adept god roll would be fluted, assault, perp, opening, stability. The stats come out to 76 range, 80 stability, and 94 handling. With opening shot and perpetual x1 its at 100 range 85 stability and 99 handling. The best stat distribution imo
With adept stability mod its at 95 stability with perpetual x1 so basically a triple 100 stat gun
You can hit 100 AE, with Heat Rising, if you get Extended Mag and throw on a Adept Icarus mod. Other slugs can get close to that but they just can't beat the Inquisitor's crazy stats
Got mine to 100 rage with 76 handling. this also has fragile focus. The pain in trails was much worth it

May as well talk about gunnora’s axe while you’re at it. Super good
Try to look for stability, so something like smallbore assault mag is VERY good, since the more stability the less flinch you receive, and with slugs, this matters
I got a non-adept roll with Hammer Forged, Accurized, Steady Hands, Swash, and Handling MW. 83 Handling and 93 Range. The one bodies are really nice and QuickDraw on my primary after a kill is convenient too.
Mine has hammerforged, light mag for helping reload, perpetual, and opening shot with adept range babyyyy! 100 range, 95 handling with perpetual, 87 reload, 68 stability to combat flinch. 2nd drop when I traded in woooo!
I was lucky enough to get the best roll (non adept) in my first few I got. perpetual motion and opening shot with range and handling in the 80s. It's such a solid shotgun for PVP. Until this gun I just ran sojourners with autoloading and opening shot

How do you feel about adept targeting? For an otherwise ideal roll, range and handling are basically completely covered already.
I got the 5 out of 5 god roll 100 rang 85ish stability 100 handling and like 70 or 80 reload with pp perk active and opening shot.
if people have not claimed the shotty from saints rep line the roll is almost max range with openingshot forthtimes so if you can hit rank 10 you got a more or less godroll whis will chnage on weekly reset so be quick and if you are lucky youll hit the lighthouse grinding that rep
pulse monitor/opening shot might be the play tbh. take some damage and boom, you've got max handling, faster animations, max range, high aim assist slug you can whip out whenever

I got lucky on my non adept, smallbore, accurized rounds, pulse monitor, opening shot, range mw. Pulse monitor can be debatable as good, but I have a base non stat affected 100 range. It definitely felt amazing.
I keep getting Pulse Monitor in column 3... but I have one that is Opening Shot (with 100 Range before OS) and one with Fragile Focus (with 91 Handling). Good enough, I guess.
I have a very nice perpetual/OS roll but i wanna get a demo/adrenaline junkie roll to use with flux nades

As much as I'd love an Adept version but I highly highly doubt I'll ever get one but an Arc Slug Shotty!? I need that in my life!! Crazy AF Handling & Range it has Golden Tricorn which to me is such a sleeper perk & with Arc 3.0 it's pretty easy to get that rolling in PVP or PVE! It's a shame as I've got a few Adept Mods from running Avarice one being Range which i use on my Fatebringer! I'm hoping I can jump into freelance or with a couple clan mates & get one & the Fusion. Wish me luck! Gunna need it haha!
I have one with arrowhead brake accurized steady hands opening shot and a handling mw it’s just the normal version but it’s still sooo good, I have a perpetual motion swashbuckler one too but it doesn’t feel as good to use

I have two rolls: smallbore, steady rounds, pulse monitor, opening shot and range master work (85 range, 76 handling)
The other one is fluted barrel, accurized rounds, demo, swash and range masterwork (93 range, 91 handling) and I really dont know which one I like more
How does that max range trials shotgun stack up against the new Telesto tune for range in a special weapon?

I got lucky and pulled a Perpetual/Opening shot on my very first adept drop and I'm like cool I never have to go for this shotgun again
By the way also if you want a good slug but don't want to play trials, xur has a sojourner tale that has has hammer forge, extended mag, tunnel vision, and opening shot with a reload masterwork. Not a perfect but a very good roll that all you have to do is buy it.
Got Smallbore/Assault Mag/Pulse Monitor/OS. Would quick access sling then be the best mod since the gun is at 100 range and handling?
I've got an Opening Shot one with either full bore or fluted and a handling MW. Is it worth running Full Bore for 91/91 Range and Handling and then using an adept targeting mod (depending on OS and Quick Charge to get the others to 100)? Or would you max out Range with an Adept Range mod?
So I started taking my own look at my own rolls and determining what I liked versus what people say are the good rolls. You just gave me the biggest pat on the back and "good job" that I could get. My 5/5 roll is Fluted; Accurized; Perpetual; Swashbuckler with a range masterwork. I then got it during Trials last week. When I watched the Mindbenders' video, and you talked about this shotgun, I knew that I had something special. I even learned to stop running 90% of the time. Lol. I went from 2 person kill strings to 4-5. Now I gotta figure out how to not get to excited when I get 4-5 and not die from sheer fear of success.
Never liked slugs much but been using my steady hands / harmony a ton. 96 range on it. It'll due till I can get opening shot
How does it stack up to Chaperone? I haven't played much pvp lately so I don't know the state Chap is in at the moment.
I got an adept inquisitor with 80 handling (100, with PM x2) , 100 range, perpetual motion, and swashbuckler. Swash x5 lets it 1 shot body at max resil and i play knockout syntho titan. This shotgun is by far the best shotgun in the game and its not even a question.
My adept roll that I got is extended barrel, extended mag, perpetual motion, opening shot, adept icarus with adept icarus with quick charge! Which means I got max handling, range, with 30 Airborne effectives. Really consistent in the air! I’ve gotten like 3k pvp kills with it so far and it’s gonna keep going! My favorite shotty in the game!

With Adept Handling but w/o quick charge I'm at 93 Handling. Bit of wasted stats, but hey, it seems good.

First and only drop poly, accurized, perpetual, opening. Stability MW not perfect but close enough I won't worry about grinding for another.

Sojourners Opening Shot, Quick Draw, and 73 range. Should be enough.
And how about First in, last out Opening Shot + Slideshot (if you are into warlock gloves ur handling will be fine).

Okay so if you hit max range does adding more accuracy/aim assist push the shot out even further? Like say you get all range with barrel, mag, masterwork, opening shot, and then use tunnel to boost aim. Does that help even further?

If you like something more unique, try out Harmony paired with Lumina.
Get a kill with Lumina, buff a teammate, swap to Inquisitor to activate Harmony. 1 shot body any resilience guardian for a very generous duration.
I got lucky with an Adept Inquisitor has 100 range and 75 handling w/ opening shot. And I can swap it so it has 75 range and 100 handling. Awesome slug
If Heritage gets opening shot next season, that will be my most used special weapon by far for a while. Hip fire grip and opening? Hell yes

in terms of stats, this thing is the palindrome of slug shotguns. so many stats that are best in class with top tier perks to boot. if i get my 5/5 (fluted, accurized, perp motion, os, range mw and adept range) i would never use any other slug
Agreed. I've been solo grinding trials to get a 5/5 Fluted Barrel, Accursed, PM, OS, with Handling or Range Masterwork. (Both are great)

I have corkscrew, accurized rounds, PM and opening shot with range masterwork. So 98 range without opening shot 😀. Pm times 2 is 98 handling 😀

my roll i dont normally play trials because i dont have team mates but my roll has fluted b acc rounds and tunnel vision and opening and a range masterwork
My main take away from this is coolguy would rather play anomoly over cauldren, and here i thought i could trust his opinion about maps
There is another roll not talked about I feel my "god roll" pumping stability using just opening shot to carry range, the adept version gets to 100 range out of the box with opening proc'd, with quickcharge its near/max handling you can throw quite literally everything into stability paired with demo opening assault mag for faster fire rates and you have a absolute monster its the roll im going to chase and pray to rng for
I have a regular Fragile 4/5 roll and an adept Opening 3/5, I'm so conflicted.
honestly the only reason inquisitor is better than fortissimo is the fact that it can have perfect 30 AE without losing any handling and range. Range MW, Fluted, Accurized, Perpetual/Surplus/Threat/Demo with Opening Shot and Quick Charge on Fortissimo is the obvious winner here due to it having similar stats but 22 more Aim Assist and Vanguard Vindication. Still, curated Blasphemer with High Cal is pretty nice. None of this will matter when Heritage becomes craftable though
I don’t have a 5/5 but it doesn’t even matter lol. Full Bore, Tac Mag, PM, and OS with a handling MW. It’s sort of silly they have this in the game lol one of those guns that makes all others obsolete
I’m going to go for this but I’m not really clear on the value prop over blasphemer. I have the god roll blasphemer. With QuickDraw it maxes out handling and it’s near max range w opening shot and I think it has more aim assist.
One thing to note is Quickdraw does not increase handling after firing or ADS hence slower stow speed
And now we wait for craftable heritage to destroy this thing.

I’ve spent an unholy amount of legendary shards trying to get a Golden Tricorn roll w/ subsistence or Demo with no luck. I did get Perpetual/OS but I’m total trash with slugs in pvp 😢

To be fair, range already mattered past the falloff cap on slug shotguns, because extra accuracy is many times more helpful on a precision weapon rather than a pellet shotgun.
Too bad it’s not singles playlist weekend because as a single player it doesn’t look like I’ll get a chance this season to get the adept version.
