    A couple of years ago, I was reading in the Book of Mormon where it says that priestcrafts were first had among the people. I wasn't paying that much attention to it, but when I read "priestcraft" I got a very strong message in my mind that said that the word "statecraft" would make more sense to me. That started me down a rabbit hole of studying, that really opened my eyes to just how much darkness we are in already, and how the state as we know it is ultimately a counterfeit of God's kingdom.
    Keep up the good work of opening people's minds!

    I'm 26. I'm married and have 2 kids. I'm a network engineer. And I live in my parents basement. Why? Because a $3,000 monthly mortgage is too much for me to afford. And that's the lowest cost I can expect for a beginner home in most of Utah. I want so badly to provide for my family. I know that's what I have to do. But I have to face the reality of the situation we're in. My wife and I have had to work to plan to build our own home so we can even conceive of having a home to raise our family in. By building a home, being our own general contractor, and doing the internal framing and electrical ourselves. And with that we can maybe keep our mortgage under $2000.
    Why do I share that? One thing that continually is brought up to my generation and those younger then me is the concept of us being a chosen generation as we continue moving closer to the second coming. Would it not make sense that Satan would do everything in his power to suppress the rising chosen generation? Satan wants to make us feel like we cannot create families, build homes, and become lights in a world of darkness.

      One of my recent bishops had a financial advisor for his business that basically told him to get good relationships with his kids because they are basically going to be living with them for the next couple decades.

    • @TheEthanFausett
      @TheEthanFausett 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@BazSupport yep. I'm figuring out a path to independence from my parents. But so many of my friends have no clear path at the moment. To give you an idea of what inflation has done to my generation; 12 years ago my Dad (the sole provider of my family) bought a house in Lehi while making $30/hr. Today I make $33+/hr, but that same house that my Dad bought just 12 years later is worth roughly $600,000, about 4 times what it was worth when my Dad bought that house. So in my generation we have to figure out how to make 2-4 times as our parents did just a decade ago to afford what they could afford then.

      It helps to move to a more affordable place. Just consider all options and take it to the Lord. We are so happy in our ward, it’s a true family. Moved in 2020, and we could afford a home leaving Utah on one income, and cash flowing higher education to increase income.

      hang in there buddy. home prices go up and they go down. I'm 40 and I entered the work force when prices were ridiculously high and I was saying the exact same thing you are, then just 5 years later home prices were cut in half. Now they are back up high again. Home prices always follow interest rates but it takes 1-3 years to fully adjust to interest rates. Just save your money and don't buy stupid stuff you don't need. Home prices will come back down to historic mean and you will want to be ready.

    The story of Johnny Lingo and Mahana is not about zero-sum thinking or relative value, but rather a powerful testament to the transformative impact of seeing the inherent worth in every person. Some may interpret Johnny's high bride price for Mahana as devaluing other women on the island, but this perspective falls into the trap of viewing value as a finite resource, where one person's gain must come at the expense of others. In truth, the film's message transcends this limited mindset. By recognizing and nurturing Mahana's intrinsic worth through his love and respect, Johnny Lingo demonstrates that a person's true value is not determined by external comparisons or social judgments, but by the love and care they receive. This timeless message reminds us that when we look beyond surface appearances and embrace each individual's unique potential, we have the power to uplift and transform lives without diminishing others.

    I've often wondered if Nephi took the Ark with him. It would explain a lot of things, for example why Lehi sent all four sons back to get the plates. Why send all four? If they were killed Lehi loses all male posterity. Wisdom would have dictated sending two and keeping two with him in safety. You don't need four to carry the plates, but you would need four to carry the Ark. He would have ordained them to the Priesthood so they could carry it and not be struck dead. Some have said that Babylon took it with them when they conquered Jerusalem, but that doesn't jive with the Philistines experience when they took it, which was so horrible that they returned it to end the curses placed upon them. Also, we learn from those who read the Book of Lehi before it was lost that Lehi made a Tabernacle in the wilderness and took it with him on their journey. Maybe that's why, they needed a place to keep the Ark when they were stopped.

    • @timrice-lb6kn
      @timrice-lb6kn 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree the ark probably did leave Jerusalem for a time so It could be destroyed however Ron white found it barried beneath the site of christ crucifixion his blood literally drip on the covenant sealing it. And I think this was needed symbolically so somehow the Lord got the ark back into that cave Underneath the cross on Calvary were he wanted and needed it to be .

    • @bricat9
      @bricat9 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought this was very interesting in the video but then I remembered the ark be in the temple, right?

    • @JenniferKartchner
      @JenniferKartchner  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Remember that Zoram, who was a Levite and keeper of the plates, came with Nephi to carry the plates out of Jerusalem.
      Nephi and his brothers could not be set apart to carry the plates because they were not of the tribe of Levi. Zoram was there to fulfill this plan of God.
      And I would assume (obviously no record is written of this) that they took the items from the Ark, not the Ark itself.
      When the scriptures talk about the blessings that come from the Ark, it is really applying the blessings of the items inside the Ark, not necessarily the box that holds the items.
      Just some thoughts to consider.

    • @rugburn4783
      @rugburn4783 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Excellent points, thank you. I didn't know Zoram was a Levite, nor about needing to be a Levite to carry them. So would Lehi have had to allow Zoram to carry the plates around, and even turn pages? How did it work do you think? And would a Zoramite have had to continue in that role throughout Nephite history?@@JenniferKartchner

    • @JenniferKartchner
      @JenniferKartchner  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very good questions. I'm not sure about turning the pages for Lehi because it was only listed as the Ark could only be touched by a Levite, but I'm sure he fulfilled all the other Mosaic Law for his Temple duties.
      Zoram married the oldest daughter of Ishmael, so the Levite tribe would have continued in the society of the Nephites. Thus, allowing more Levites to fulfill the temple sacrifices, brass plates, etc.
      We just read in 1 Nephi 7:22 that they returned to their father's "tent" and offered sacrifices - which would have been completed by Zoram. And this means the word "tent" would actually be a Tabernacle, not a dweling due to the sacrifice being made there.

    Thoroughly enjoyed this, thanks to all who were involved. I am a tad confused that he is proud of the church for lying, are we suggesting that two wrongs make a right? Ought we not always be striving for the right? I am not naive enough not to recognise the fallen world and its nature, but do you conquer evil by committing sin? Essentially are we saying that as has been said in the past it is ok to 'Lie for the Lord'? Are you also happy that the 'Church' is in the process of 'Covering up, leader sex crimes with the objective of protecting the name of the church, are there people who think that Christ would be happy with any of that, whatever the circumstances or motivations. I have a testimony of the Gospel, BoM and Joseph in particular, but I am less enthralled by the church, and what I have witnessed over the years, the BoM points out that churches are corrupt, 'Yea All' and so I was heartened by his pointing out that it is the state of our hearts that will ultimately matter.

    While there may be no temple in the city that comes down, there will be a temple complex built before or after that point. Also, the temples will continue to operate during the Millennium so as to provide the blessings of the temple for ancestors and those who come into the world. Temples aren't going anywhere. They will most likely operate very differently in the Millennium, but they will be everywhere. The point he is trying to make is that the temple is NOT a place that is going to be shielded from the hardships of the coming days. We know the Salt Lake temple will be with us in the Millennium, hence the extensive work to earthquake proof it (for the coming worldwide quake). But there is no guarantee it won't be desecrated before then, or as he says, taken away. There may come a time where even going to a church building is against the law, or impossible due to the building not existing anymore, or persecutions raging so bad it's risking death. Times will get very difficult. His point was not that temples will go away, that would be counter to what practically every modern prophet and apostle has said on the matter.

      I think the point he was trying to make is that the temples will not be some place you can run to to survive the coming calamities. Yes, the temples will very much be in the Millennium, and from what I understand pretty much every church building etc will be turned into them. One of the main purposes of the Millennium is to finish the temple work that has begun now. There's the whole 24 temple complex at New Jerusalem that will be built. I'll admit his answer was a bit vague, but I think he was just trying to say don't run to the temple when things go south.

It doesn't matter for here and now, in fact not much of what's speculated of exactly what happens matters in comparison to having the guiding influence of the Holy Ghost to tell us what to do and when. Morgan shares some really cool ideas and i really enjoy listening to him share his perspectives. But Saying Lincoln is a bad guy bc sewards dad helped kill JS is a stretch. It's also a stretch to say he is a bad guy bc he didn't join the Church.
    Its also disingenuous to blame him for "creating slavery" bc the 13th amendment isn't worded the way you would like it to be. In fact it is worded very reasonably. It is reasonable to have convicts perform road clean up, or dig ditches, or any other work assigned to them as part of their incarceration. There's no way he could have know that our modern society would be so bass ackward as to make free speech a crime. Hell we couldn't have seen how bad it would be today 20 years ago. So thats not a great argument against Lincoln and certainly doesn't warrant calling him a bad guy.
    Especially not in light of the fact that he did check out a book of mormon from the library of congress, was actively studying it, and in fact did go before the Lord to recovenant with him and rededicate our nation to His laws. It was after he did that that we won at Gettysburg and the tide of the war changed in favor of the north. And it was after that monumental battle and rededicating the nation that he gave his famous address.
    You cant impune his character bc members of His cabinet had crappy parents and that he ultimately didn't join the Church.
    Like I said I really like a lot of what morgan shares but when he makes these kinds of leaps it kinda taints his other ideas. Makes it seem more like its all stretching too far.

      When I finished public school I thought Abe Lincoln was a good guy. Then I did more research. Now I don't think he is all bad, but he certainly isn't all good. He wiped out many good checks & balances put into the constitution. He may have intended to put them back but never got a chance. Who really knows? Only the Creator.

    • @effervescentrelief
      @effervescentrelief 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't place the blame on Lincoln, and while I am happy for the overall outcome of the Civil War, the states did lose their sovereignty and therefore broke the basis of the Constitution after that. So it could be argued that Lincoln allowed it to happen, though there was much more going on with that than just him. The entire operation of government changed following the CW, even if not perceived by the public.

      @@JenniferKartchner I supposed that, much of those who left at the Exodus were not descendants of the sons of Jacob although eventually became intertwined. The reason I supposed Zoram potentially being Egyptian was because of the script of the Brass Plates. That script would not have been common Hebrew but essentially be repurposed Egyptian characters which consolidate information into smaller space. Jews did use different writing for sacred texts, and from Abraham to Joseph there was a rise in various writing styles some which repurposed Egyptian writing, like the Hyksos did this, Canaanites did it. When people try to tell me there is no such thing as “reformed Egyptian” then I show them the Ark of the covenant and the camp of Israel which is literally reformed Egyptian. No wonder the Book of Abraham has a Semitic grammatical style and the facsimiles don’t agree with Egyptian names though it serves the correct purpose. I mean Joseph was mummified and was considered and Egyptian priest with pagan depictions on his sarcophagus but did Joseph see himself as a pagan priest? No, he and his descendants had their own interpretation for characters which is greater evidence for The Book of Mormon, The Book of Abraham and Joseph Smith Jr. Lehi studied the brass plates with Zoram, Nephi had a learning curve in keeping a proper record. I think Zoram would be that key to understanding the record but ultimately the Levite practice was meant to be to all Israelites, so I wonder if that practice was the establishment of the Israelites but not necessary for Lehi’s preserved branch. But yes I agree with you, Zoram certainly was Levite and had familiarity of scribal training. The cool think about Joseph marrying Aseneth, is she came from a priestly family, this allows for Joseph to have position in Egypt. In Isaiah we liken Egypt being mentioned to the US in latter-days, and the fact that Ephriam and Menassah descendants became kings and priest all over adds to that royal lineage and governmental stewardships. Lehi’s camp had exactly everyone and every promised blessing needed for this latter-day work, it’s just amazing, no way critics can say Joseph Smith Jr made it up or guessed correctly on questions that no one asked.

    Christ died in a year when Passover took place on a Wednesday at sundown, 28 AD was a Wednesday sundown Passover, this means that Christ was in the tomb sundown Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, as well as sunrise Thursday Friday and Saturday, Sundown Saturday is now Sunday, he was Resurrected and left the tomb at sundown, this explains why Mary found the tomb already empty when she arrived before sunrise… this equals exactly three nights and three days…
    28AD was also the 34th year since the coming of the sign of his birth recorded in the Book of Mormon, Christ was exactly 34 years old the day he died, just like the Book of Mormon says… 2028 will be the 2000th anniversary of his death and resurrection

      The 34th year began in 6BC when Christ was born, making 28 AD the year he died
      There are bullet point items for both a birth in the year 6 BC, and a death in 28 AD… which would also confirm a 34 year life span of Christ accounted for in the Book of Mormon, which is a thing used against both Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon
      I hope this helps…
