The main takeaway is what Ducati wants in the next couple of years. Marc has another 4-5 years in hand and Martin can go longer. For long-term, its gotta be Martin. That being said, the main problem for Ducati will be Acosta. He will be riding that factory KTM next year and will continue to improve. If Ducati wants to fight for the title against Acosta, the best option is to give that red machine to No #93. But Martin is the rider who deserves the seat more than anyone. He is been doing everything he can for the last 2 years. The best scenario would be giving marc a 25 machine and Martin that factory seat.
49 and 72 have been riding a Ducati longer than 93, so we need to be fair on the adjustment timeline, granted they were on '22 bikes. I think fair criticism can be leveled at 73 too.
If Ducati doesn't choose Martin, I know everyone is saying he should go to Aprilia, but... I'd rather see him go to KTM. Martin and Acosta would be an amazing duo.
Binder already has a contract and may (will?) outscore golden boy Acosta in 2024. Demoting him would be a slap in the face, but I also don't Acosta accepting to remain on GasGas either.

Even if Marquez never even wins a race for them (highly doubtful) he is box office draw and the commercial side to signing him would be enormous.

IMO the seat should go to Marc. You've got 2 years that you can pretty much count on winning a championship. Then who you want on a brand new bike in 27 a guy that's taken 3 years to get really good with your bike or a guy that takes 4 to 5 races to figure it out? I'm going with experience to put my bike on the top step. It even took pecco a year to figure out how to make it work. Like really getting the most he could with it. Now watching Marc, it makes you wonder did he get everything out of it that was to be had?

If MM can get a 2025 bike while staying at Gresini, it seems like problem solved. Since Gresini has now publicly declined any opportunity to go with Yamaha, and VR46 seems intent to stay with Ducati as well, looks like LCR or Pramac may be in blue next year. So if Pramac does leave Ducati, you have one more factory Ducati left and three spots (2 with VR46, Marc's teammate at Gresini) IMO it breaks down like this: Lenovo Ducati: Pecco & Martin VR46: Bezz (2025 bike), and Morbidelli ('24 bike) Gresini: MM93 (2025 bike), and Aldeguer ('24 bike) This leaves three riders out: Bastianini, Digi, and Alex Marquez.

Digi got the job, literally just before testing for 2024 began, in no small part because there were few options for Rossi in the rider market at that time and Digi was riding great after losing his Gresini ride. Whether it is Franco or not I think Digi is out at VR46 either way after this year despite results comparable to Bezz so far. At least one rider is out of MotoGP with Aldeguer coming in. It should be Augusto Fernandez or Nakagami, but Digi may get to try a new series.
