    Finally got this installed. No issues with pop-rivets. Did have some trouble with the fender liner, and the template layout. It was a little tight getting the snorkel mounted. I could have shifted it toward the front bumper and up on the fender by a couple MM. Also, be patient and check twice the A pillar alignment. It was a little low, but I made it work.

    I had no problem with the supplied rivets. I also installed the TRD cold air intake and I had an unexpected result, better fuel economy. I now get an extra 80 miles to the tank. Thanks for the videos

      Wow, 80 miles per tank is a huge improvement.

    I'm waiting until rivbolts come with the kit instead of rivets themselves. Loose is a no go. Great video though!

      Not sure if they are going to change what comes in the kit. you might just need to get the supplies yourself as we did.

    Any concerns of rust from the A pillar holes? I'm surprised the instructions doesnt state to use any kind of sealant.

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It honestly wouldn't be a bad idea to put some silicone on the bracket before installing.

      @@yotaxpedition Yeah too late. I already installed it and thought of it afterwards. I suppose I could drill it out.

    Great video. I was just wondering about water getting in when driving during a rainy day. Is that something to be worried about? Is there some kind of pre-filter for this scenario?

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is a drain hole in the air box. So any water drops would just roll down to the air box and drain out or eventually evaporate.

    Does air raid offer a Cyclone Filter For this unit 15:59

  • @rupertcornelius8924

    How does the air raid intake affect the acoustics of the TRD intake? Any noticable performance gains at highway speeds with the higher airflow from the scoop?

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing I can notice. I'm sure it helps though. And as for the acoustics, you can hear it more through the snorkel.

    What if water enters the intake at the car wash or heavy rain? Is there a drain

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, your factory air box has a drain in it.

    What was the issue with the rivets? And which size rivnuts did you end up using?

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The issue we had with the rivets was they weren't getting tight. After installing the rivets, the bracket still moved around. I believe we put m5x.08 rivnuts in it.

    • @wlmyer
      @wlmyer ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Yota Xpedition thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it was the rivet tool or the curve of the A pillar that caused the fitment issue. I'm installing this next week and I appreciate the video.

    • @VTI2CLN
      @VTI2CLN ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the riv nuts did kit come with bolts or did you have to buy m5 bolts separately

    What do you do when it’s raining or do they have a precleaner available for this? Thanks

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your factory air box has a drain in the bottom for water to drip out of. There will be no issue with driving in the rain. If you want, you can turn the top backwards so it's not going into the rain.

    Hey man I love the video. I was wondering if you could change the snorkle top to a Sy-klone pre cleaner? Thank you!!

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Im not sure if this would work because the Sy-klone is round at the base and the Airaid is oval.

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm 100% sure. There's a possibility that it might be close but I'm sure some modification to the hole is going to be needed. Obviously, all the mounting holes will be different as well and your old ones might show.
