Having kept a Nokia Lumia 720 I can totally understand and appreciate the idea of giving it some more life, a taste of Android now that WP is officially dead : this phone is a beauty, and a pocketable one ! I probably won't try the manipulation right now though...
I'm amazed by the performances, after all the hardware already was on the weak side at launch time, so by today's standards... How does it perform when using apps, that might be the issue.

well, today I found my old Lumia 820 and tried to do something for it, oh yeah, with all the risks:) It's Lumia 820, I followed your tutorial here, and it R.I.P since 15:00. It could not reboot at that moment. Now, it's been packed up and kept in my cupboard to be remembered for its glorious history :D

This is the best tutorial that Even seen because he knows how to explain this thing but i want to install Android on My Lumia 640 XL but i don't find tutorials or archives of that anyone knows if in a future we are going to have this ???
For anyone trying to do this with a SAMSUNG eMMC:
- This was my experience today (3rd Sept 2019).
- @10:50 he goes through whether it is safe to proceed, based on whether you have a Samsung Chip or not.
- I have a Samsung chip.
- I wanted to try it anyway (given this video was made in 2017 and it is now 2019, hoping the issue had been fixed by now).
- I went ahead and when I clicked "Continue" @ 13:17, the program displayed "Processing resources", but then it stalled afterwards (? "sending bootloader" or something). I waited 20 minutes, nothing changed. It never got to "Flashing Unlocked Bootloader (seen @ 13:45).
- So, I unplugged it.
- It was bricked.
- I did a hard reset (power button + volume down) several times, then opened Windows Device Recovery Tool.
- At first, this failed.
- I did a hard reset, then tried again in Windows Device Recovery Tool.
- It stalled while transferring the emergency firmware (took forever). So I unplugged it halfway through.
- By this stage, I was sure that I had 100% bricked it.
- I tried another hard reset. Then windows device recovery tool.
- This time it recognised the device, but said it had "unknown firmware".
- This time, it transferred the firmware onto the device (the red Nokia screen. Took 5 mins).
- But then it didn't boot up.
- So I went through the entire process again.
- THE SECOND TIME IT WORKED.
- The phone is back to exactly the way it was before I tried unlocking the bootloader.
I'm not saying that you will be able to resurrect the situation if you take massive risks like I did. Maybe I got very lucky. You probably won't be so lucky.
But the take home message is - keep trying Windows Device Recovery Tool over and over and over, doing a hard reset each time. It just might work for you, if you've already bricked your Lumia. Maybe. Good luck.
If the emmc gets into a write protected state, there's no chance of recovery. Some Samsung emmc chips take a bit longer to get to that state but what you wrote showed all the symptoms of it failing gradually.

my lumia 925 has samsung chip and I unlocked bootloader without any problems - TWICE....
You won't belive me,but I am going through all of this just to be able to install ONE SINGLE android app that will enable my lumia to act as a secondary display for my PC (planning to mod the case to integrate it into it) and it would display temp and fan stats exclusively.
Now I run into second problem,the ROM for my phone is in .kdz file format and having a real "fun" trying to make a file flashable by this method 😳
I guess my old 535 is just junk ;-;, please do one for it

Lumia 520 working so bad in this moment, I think 512MB of RAM is too less for Android. I heard Lumia 525 and the rest of phones with 1GB+ of RAM is working better and you can using them normal. But I'm not promise you that, it's my rumors only. I'm sure about 1 thing: Lumia 520 sucks on Android now

Yes, i think the project website has the builds for it. We did make it work about 3 years after this video.
Awesome! My mother has the Lumia phone, although I will need to look up what model.. It's horrible that she hardly can do anything with the phone anymore 👎. So if this would help to get it more useful now in 2022, that would help so much. Though I wonder, what version of Andriod would it be able to run?

@Stefan Rsn I shouldn't give you the fish. Go look for yourself how to fish, it takes time, dedication and effort. Here is a tip that worked for me: whatch the video, install everything, download some alternative app stores, read some foruns. Do your tests. Or you can pay for this service in some specialized store and make your contribution for the economy. There is no free lunch. You're wellcome.

It's stuck at waiting for device during the installation of LK Bootloader (I think it's because adb is not able to recognize or detect the device. I have installed adb drivers properly). Anyone facing similar problem?
Edit: I was running the script with admin priviledges. Running it without admin rights solved the problem.

No, it's not supported.
I had my Lumia 525 dead after flashing the UFK2SD or something i didn't remember for 1 year. It just vibrated, and no display whenever I plugged the charger. I pulled it off from my closet, plugged into PC, and surprisingly it detected as a fastboot and when I typed the command " fastboot devices ", it was really in fastboot all the time
So can I be able to flash TWRP from fastboot mode, instead of ADB? There is no way I can roll back to ADB, and there is no way I can roll myself to WP cuz I had deleted the backup file for freeing the storage for my PC. Saving that phone is no longer a big deal to me, but at least I want to try saving it myself =))
I have no idea what you did with it last time, but UEFI2LK should have continued flashing just fine with the phone in fastboot mode. Open the script in a text editor, then start running the fastboot commands in it one-by-one

mira pana descarga el twrp del lumina que esta en la pagina que publico android4lumina instala fastboot... o( adb ) es lo mismo hay si ejecutas cmd .. lo ejecutas pulsando window+R Y COLOCAS CMD... hay se te abre un cuadro de comando ... hay pones dependiendo donde tengas instalado el programa ese por ejemplo lo tiene en la unidad c.. entonces en el comando escribes
cd C:\fastboot ... para que acepte el comando.. luego colocas ... fastboot devices para comprobar si te reconoce el tel... que tendría que reconocerlo men y luego pones... fastboot flash recovery y pones el twrp osea lo arrastras después de que escribas eso das un espacio y buscas el twrp descargado lo agarras y lo arrastra hasta dentro del cuadro y el se agrega solo y le das enter ... y para finalizar le das a fastboot boot y lo vuelves a agregar que es para que el tel te inicie en twrp.... yo instalado el sotfware mas de 35 veces y ps bueno tuve que aprender si no me jodo y no hay plata para pagar a otro pendejo hahhaha
a mi pana se me olvido antes de hacer todo eso que te dije ponlo a cargar media hora no importa que no prenda la pantalla...y luego hay antes de conectarlo vía usb a la pc agarra el tel y preciosa encender junto con bajar volumen hay el vibra y luego sueltas el botón encender y presionas rápida mente de nuevo bajar volumen y lo dejas presionado por 3 segundos y ps entra en modo arranque igual no te preocupes si no se te ve nada en la pantalla .. luego haces todo l oque te dije arriba cabe destacar que si lo haces bien .... que si te va a agarrar porque lo he hecho 35 veces hhahah la pc te lo va a reconocer y hay desde la pc metes el archivo roms y si quieres unas gapps que son un combo de aplicaciones te recomiendo que sea la que dice pico porque estos teléfonos no son muy rápidos comparados con otros ps y de hay das wipe y borras data.. cache y system... te sales le das instalar y buscas la roms y la instalas es muy facil y luego la gapps si quieres y ya ps es android.... o si tiene una copia de seguridad solo restaura la copia y listo men espero que te sirva toda lo que te dije yo ando casi loco de tanto....

man, dont know if you have already solved that. i've had the same problem, i think the cause is that adb doesnt recognize your device so it keeps waiting like a dumb b**. In my case my phone was recognized as an "android" device in device manager (in control panel). to solve that the drivers of the "android device" must be reconfigured. later in the twrp part 23:51 i installed the os with .zip being inside the phone. because with adb sideload i encountered another error

Is your phones battery depleted? Reboot into TWRP and flash the rom again. This happens when no OS is on the device.

@@vaibhavmishra5306 These aren't "tricks". The reason is that you can't unlock x3x devices bootloader with WP internals and for that reason this isn't optimized for that device.
