Why is the bullied hyena trying to roar like a lion? Why don't it make that annoying hyena laugh they normally make when harassing lions? I guess it thinks it could scare dem sounding like a lion.

They were attacking a rival maybe a male because he was small and females run the hyena matriarch being the larger than the males. Their bullying a male from a rival clan and the male is taking a chance moving towards the lion knowing the hyenas won't attack as aggressively while near the lion. It's the equivalent of a blue whale using a boat for cover while trying to flee a pod of orcas.
In a bizzare twist of fate that hyena was lucky those lioness were there to distract the other hyenas and keep their attention away from him. Looks like he was in big trouble otherwise.

Yeah animals recognize other animals just like people do each other. A matriarch and a lioness have unspoken rules about getting involved in clan and pride business. I've often seen hyenas spectate lion and leopard fights and they never get involved. They have no reason to.

My eyes betray me...I saw what could have been a water trickle over some stone material. But did not see a 'waterhole'. Maybe the waterhole fills a little more when the annual rains hit or when the tattered windmill is able to produce energy from the wind and thus possibly produce water. Actually he's using the lioness as cover. Knowing they won't be as agressive because they have to watch the lion also. So it's impossible for the clan to focus entirely on him. Smart but risky move. Had that been her sister who seems to hate hyenas as she's seen waking her sister up to give chase, that hyena would've been dead. But on the other hand hyenas will band together to kill a lioness so she did right by not attacking because she was outnumbered.
