    Seeing some of these comments, I've got this to say for future viewers. Do NOT mistake a mother's instinct for a mother's love. A hippo is one of the most ferocious beasts on the planet. They are solid, dense muscle, and they are notoriously territorial and aggressive animals. Point being, there should be no illusion of 'love' existent in these animals, as love is known to a human. They will not hesitate to kill you, and they should be regarded with this truth in consideration.
    This is not to say they should not be respected - quite the opposite. In respecting the world that we live in, it is necessary that we understand that certain aspects of nature's creation are not meant to be interacted with; they are spectacles to be viewed from afar, fragments of life's history for us to ponder and be amazed by.

      @robburrell2643 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hippos can run underwater at 5mph. Despite their "fat" appearance they must be incredibly dense in bone structure and musculature. They are alpha predators. In response to this comment above....hippos can't actually swim...let alone rune on water.

  • @auburneytuckerson2959
    @auburneytuckerson2959 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    This proves hyenas aren't cowards because if they were, they wouldn't even be going in hippo territory in the first place. Hyena just swam towards a living hippo to eat the dead one (even though the hippo is telling him or her to go away). 11:36 A hyena THAT close to a hippo can't be a coward. I know there are more hyenas, but that hyena is closest by him or herself!

    • @MaevaStardust
      @MaevaStardust 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have you seen how hyenas act around an adult male lion?

    • @auburneytuckerson2959
      @auburneytuckerson2959 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@MaevaStardust Yeah, because being smart enough to not try to take on a male lion, risking their lives to seem "badass" for some stupid human's pride makes them cowardly, okay. Focusing on more important things like staying alive, rather than stupidly taking on a bigger predator to be "big and bad" sure makes them stupid, doesn't it? The fact that there are more of them in the wild than lions, thriving and surviving doesn't matter because they avoid fighting a male lion. That's clearly more important than surviving because as dumb humans, pride and power matters more than living.
      Whomever said humans were intelligent was clearly delusional.

      Karınları aç ve yavru hipopatam da şanslarını denediler. Doğal yaşam da açlık ve risk alma her zaman vardır ve olmak zorundadır.

    For those who HATE hyenas like I do, we must remember the crucial role they play in the African wildlife ecosystem; which includes the area of being beastly biological garbage disposal/walking-lurking waste management systems.
    Nature needs to get rid of a maggot infested carcass that even the vultures won't eat, call on the hyenas.

      They go for the bones mostly. They are after bone marrow which gives them the nutrients they need. They are the only ones with the capability to crush bone.

    Well the hippo isn't the only threat. Don't forget there are crocs in African rivers too. Those hyenas got lucky.
