Unfortunately, it's their recruits and draftees that are on the receiving end of these retaliatory actions by Ukraine. Some generals are casualties but, presumably, top level. Agree
But it's time things must change
Ukraine has done well to keep within its borders and has kept the moral high ground so to speak but the reality is the moral aspect by not sticking cross border isn't going to help them
Can understand the Yanks for not wanting to give Ukraine longer range missiles in case Ukraine strikes targets across border and terrorist Putin strikes back at the west
But frankly speaking terrorist Putin has shown to be all mouth with regards to his threats to the west and secondly across the border has many legitimate targets
Russia are firing from their side of the border into Ukraine and there is supply lines and ammo storage these are all legitimate targets that frankly Ukraine has every right to take out
We should not worry about Ukraine striking civilian targets so far Ukraine has shown not to do such so they should be allowed to be let loose on some longer range missiles and let them take out targets in Russia especially targets that are firing across border
As for the nuke plant it's laughable how Russia dates blame Ukraine for the attacks on the plant any damage to the plant will always be down to Russia simply because they have no right being there in the first place
And th we attacks on the nuke power plant by Russia may be because they want to hook up the plant to the Russian grid
There was a news report recently where a Ukrainian power plant engineer disclosed that Russia was attacking the plant but the one thing he said they was targeting the lines that connect the plant to the Ukrainian grid and since a power plant needs outside source of power it is suspected that Russia maybe trying to destroy the connections to justify the Russians to connect the Russian grid to the plant to supply power to the plants systems
So Russia has more reasons to target the plant than the Ukrainians Russia is trying to play save the day card with this plant by taking out the power lines to and from the plant blame the Ukrainian forces Russia connects it to it's grid and claim they averted a disaster

Sometimes evil is blatant because it is over confident and deluded. I think this is one of those times. I will never stop being downright proud of the Ukrainian people. I remember being told why we have Polish social clubs here in the UK once when I was very young. The answer touched my heart. But now I'm a lot older I'm seeing a similar thing but it's Ukraine. Maybe at some point some kid in the future will ask someone like I did.... Why have we got social clubs just for Ukrainian people anyway?? And the answer will be "they were crazy brave in the war and saved the rest of us countless times so we said we'd never forget them for that and they'd always be in our hearts."

@@cristinatomutza799 Heads of state do illegal deeds all the time. Ukraine's prodigal son in 1954 did not ask the people of Crimea if they wanted to transfer to Ukraine. This decision is what is so passionately defended in the West. It was fixed when the people of Crimea raised their voice to rejoin Russia after Liev had banned the Russian language. If California had a Mexican majority who wanted to rejoin Mexico it would be their right. Just as if Baja California has an English speaking majority who wanted to join the USA.
When Crimea rejoined Russia, Putin immediately restored the cultural rights of the Crimean Tatars which Kiev never did. In retrospect, yes it gives me satisfaction to watch Westerners who claim to cherish democracy will openly deny it to those who do not serve Western interests.

I think russian language is spoken by all population of Ukraine either as first or second language. Noone puts you in jail if you speak it. Problem is that russians in Ukraine, and any other former USSR countries do not want to learn those countries language. And I think this is wrong and generates disasters like what is happening right now in Ukraine.
Besides, Russia in known for taking other country's land by power, without asking the people if they want to be part of Russia or not. And then russify the population and claim that population is russian because they speak russian.

Again, something Kiev never did. In fact, the hero of Euromaidan Yatsenyuk on numerous occasions referred to Crimean Tatars as parasites prior to the referendum. Every nation has the right to self-determination even if the West doesn't like it, especially from a country that hates them. In this case Ukraine.
After Euromaidan, the Ukrainian government reversed a law that guaranteed the official status of the Russian language and other minority languages (Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, Romani) effectively banning them all.

If Russia put pressure on the northeast then put pressure on the south thus Krimea is essential for the larger Russian defense strategy and to control the access to the south seas. Good discussion. Obviously there's a problem getting the grain out en masse from Odessa, so as a suggestion, we could add a retrofit to the rail engines and cars, enabling a quick spacing change at the rail junctions out of Ukraine. A simple sliding wheel hub that follows a spline shaft with moving forks with linkages to solenoids and a new piece of track with a gradually widening rail width would keep the flow of grain going west smooth and continuous. And send in road repair crews to get the roads up to speed so truck convoys can get more grain out. I've been laughed at for suggesting these things, but we can all see that the alternative isn't working out so well, possibly moving 5 million metric tons of the estimated 20 million metric tons of grain, or roughly 25% getting to it's destination, assuming Russia doesn't end this agreement and start attacking these ships or ports, leaving 75% or more stuck in storage. Given a variety of western ports, we ought to be able to get grain out the other way and help stave off starvation in parts of Northern Africa and elsewhere where this grain is desperately needed. I might add that members of my family worked in the head office at the GM Electromotive Division works in Lagrange, Illinois, and it was by common sense innovations that the company succeeded, enabling more efficient and more continuous rail shipments to be made globally. If you can ship it by land, rail can do it, just make the necessary changes.
