Well Germany had an issue with spending due to some past tendencies with its military ideas that they were really still in therapy about. It actually saved us money to send them to Ukraine, rather than pay to have them taken apart.

Recognition and acceptance from Ukraine that these regions are Russian; 3. Acceptance of Ukraine's neutral status. Istanbul also included restrictions on Ukrainian army armaments and number of personal. Russians categorically rejected any freeze of the conflict Korea-style. These conditions can get only tougher by the time. Even Trump wouldn't be able to accept these conditions explicitly without a coup attempt against him, but he could do it implicitly by cutting Ukraine's sustenance and turning the page.

Istanbul also included restrictions on Ukrainian army armaments and number of personal. Russians categorically rejected any freeze of the conflict Korea-style. These conditions can get only tougher by the time. Even Trump wouldn't be able to accept these conditions explicitly without a coup attempt against him, but he could do it implicitly by cutting Ukraine's sustenance and turning the page.

What are the realistic prospects for Ukraine to recover its lost territory? I don't see any short of bleeding both sides dry and a regime change in Russia. Russia is still advancing, albeit slowly, in the east, and it may be in Ukraine's best interest to end the war sooner than later.

Putin has to talk to Zelensky directly, not Trump or any other leader from other countries which have not been invaded by Russia.

I think America generally has, as ever, so glutted itself on exceptionalism (the endless boasting, bragging and boosting of everything American and actions relating to it) that most Americans don't appreciate the already existing US military and financial aid to Ukraine has its limitation. That, in dollar terms, it's actually Europe (in fact, the EU itself) that's made the largest aid contribution to Ukraine. That, although a small number of extremely advanced American weapon systems have proved tactically useful to the the Ukrainian military campaign, Zelenskiy is not 'dependent' on American weapons receiving, as he does, advanced and not so advanced weapons of utility from many other countries, in particular European allies. No, M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley AFVs. HIMARS missile systems are not so critical to Ukrainian operations that they have saved that country.
I have no doubt that should Trump withdraw all military aid support, Ukraine will continue to get a high level of aid from other allies.
