- Hier der erste Start von Potte seinem Panzermotor. Alles gut gegangen, kotzt noch etwas Öl aus der Entlüftung, nicht weiter schlimm. Aber jetzt muss noch mal die Pumpe raus, alle Elemente auf Maximale Fördermenge und Abregeldrehzahl auf ca.3200 u/min, denn wir wollen ja dit Schwatte sehen.
I bet VW would get that through an emissions test 👍

Once its fully warmed up, no white smoke. Couple of injectors not fully atomizing the fuel in the video too.

плохо собран. масло кидает оно горит, мотор дымит. с одной стороны три форсунки не дают горючку. позорище!!!!!!!! Масло кидает через щуп, в цилиндрах. Где плохие кольца стоят..

I'd hate to think what that engine is worth - was watching a program where the guy was buying a panzer engine that had sat in a shed for decades - an unknown quantity - no price had been mentioned. Time comes to discuss money and the owner goes "I'm at about 100"... Me like a fool was thinking "Dunno, but a hundred quid sounds cheap..."

The front left and right rear cylinders look to be okay. The rest need piston ring replacement. Too much white smoke. Zu fiel rauch weiss.

From my extensive study of WW2 and German Panzers, I understand that the Germans used gas engines. The Russians used diesel engines.
I doubt that this is the engine of a WW2 era tank.

The oil provides enough cooling if the engine is not under any real stress and only runs a short amount of time.

Yeah I'm counting 4 cylinder misfires. Probably missing rings given the amount of crankcase pressure pushing the oil out the filler cap.

That would have been really cool, retro-fitted in the 1966 Ford Ranch Wagon I had as a kid!!!! I'd have needed a custom exhaust system!! Can you imagine 6 pipes on each side..just behind the front wheels??? Not sure if it would have passed inspection! I'm sure the neighbors would have not approved!!
Definitely not a good Winter Time Engine!! My understanding is that for the most part Tanks had Petrol Engines. Part of the reason being that Diesel fuel tends to "gel up" a bit in really low temperatures!

Настоящий танк стоит на заднем плане скромно. Косорылый длиномордый т4. Вангую что ещё и с axg на борту. А этот чермет даже нельзя назвать троящим. Если у него всего 3 цилиндра еле живые.

Von welchen Panzer ist der Motor? Das müsste doch ein sowjetischer sein von einem t54 oder so.
ich hab in einem Artikel gelesen, dass der 1939 entwickelt und im t34 genutzt wurde. Sogar die späteren wie der t90 sollen einen vom Grundaufbau ähnlichen Motor nutzen

This is a Soviet. And today a Russian tank engine. Very old. But still on Russian tanks. The engine is not very reliable with a short resource and complex repairs. I served on this T72b.

To jest silnik z czołgu T-72. Oryginalnie wydechy zawijają się w dół i spaliny są prowadzone do dwóch turbosprężarek. Tutaj nie ma turbosprężarek, a wydechy skierowali do góry dla własnego komfortu (spaliny są wyrzucane w górę i nie gromadzą się przy ziemi) i efektywności wizualnej.

In Cambodia on the Mekong River and Lake Tonle Sap these little engines run most of the long tail boats and you can hear them tut-tut-tut-tut... everywhere on the water or on rice farming machinery. They are super simple if not a loud dirty engine.

The cooling system is built into the chassis that supports the engine. You can see the piping going from the block to the tank that goes around the perimeter.
