1- carrion(beast king), clayman(dude with the clowns) and frey(winged woman)are all part of the third generation demon lords, wich are the weakest demon lords, excep for demon lord leon(he is in the same power level as the second generation), while milim is from the first generation wich is the strongest one
2- the white knights wont appear this seasson 'cuase we still need to see the whole deal with the kids, wich is a mini arc, before we even see the first knight
3-current rimuru is on a level where he could win against a first generation demon lord(except for leon) and coul put up some resistance against a second generation demon lord, but he would still lose
4-the skill gluttony is the result of great sage using shizu's skill to combine predator + starving ones

Some people think that Carrion was too esay to allied but you got to think, Rimuru is friend WITH Milim, kiled the Orc Lord and almost the Charbdys, he has also a nation allied with the Dwarf kingdome. I think Carrion thinked about all this before he came, I mean he is a LORD and as a nation too.
Plus he didn't actually ally, he only promised not to attack. So he's not under any obligation to actually assist Rimuru, but at least they won't have to worry about him attacking them out fo the blue.

Also, they were nowhere near close to beating Charybdis by themselves. After fighting it all day everyone but Rimuru was exhausted and they barely took out an estimated 1/3rd of its hp. Without everyone else also attacking it, I'm not sure if Rimuru alone could actually do more damage than it could regenerate. Maybe if he used gluttony he could have won, at his current level that's a big if, it has the strongest regen of anything he's fought so far.
I think most people misunderstand the situation because of the title "Demon Lord"
People assume that demon lords have to be evil but thats obviously not the case.

Frey and Karion are the two weakest. Including Clayman, but that is because the is the puppet master himself, his class is not the strength type. But Karion, even with his strength class, is weaker than Clayman.
So Rimuru fights a whole day and barely manages to scratch Charybdis and then Milim comes and one-shots him in a few seconds. Talk about OP

Also, they're probably going to explain it next episode. But Rimuru's Predator skill has merged with Geld's "Starved One" to create "Gluttony".
Basically it has the powers of Predator plus the ability to decompose stuff with those black flames, and like the "Starved One" Rimuru can directly give his abilities to, and learn them from his subordinates. The master servent bond now allows ability transference.
Rimuru was also slightly nervous because he didn't do it himself. Great Sage was able to figure out the best combinations/fusions of abilities and it took the initiative on its own.
You guys should have saved this one before Dororo....you'll need the goodvibes.

Charybdis was as strong as a basic demon lord. Milim is at a higher level where they have signature skills that are more powerful than anything that Rimuru has right now.
The white knights you talked about should be next. They can't skip it. That would alter the story too much.

Milim although she looks young, but she is one of the oldest and most senior among the Demon Lords, she is 2000+ yrs old. BTW, the anime English subtitles translation for EP16 where they introduced Milim have some incorrect translation, Rimuru actually refer her as 天災(Tensai)("Natural disaster") in kanji not 天才 (Tensai)(prodigy), both have the same pronunciation. Another English Translation error from that EP16 is when Rimuru actually said her 覇気 (Hakki)(monarch/king/queen's Aura) is similar to that of Veldora, where this 覇気 I think the subtitle group was using google translate, translated into "Ambition". You can go rewatch EP16 with the error translation being replaced, and you will find it makes more sense. I think they updated on the 天災 translation in EP16. Based on the Official website/tweeter information the last EP of the main story for this season will be EP23. EP24 will be a special OVA new story not shown in WN/LN/Manga. Last EP25 will be Veldora slime observation journal based on the short novel that comes with each volume of the manga. Well, there is only about 4 episodes left for the main story so, I guess they have to speed up a bit. This EP 19 pretty much a showcase of Rimuru's side, Rimuru and his people's individual current strength and power level after the naming/re-naming as compared to Milim using Charybdis and the Megalodons' fight as a reference. Like who can 1 vs 1 and take out a Megalodon (basically Benimaru, Hakuro, Shion, Souei, Ranga), who need slight assistant with each other (Gabiru & Geld), and who need more than 1 person (Souka and her 4 members), who need a whole team to just on even ground without any death (Goblin rider team, 100 pegasus knight team etc). Charybdis's skill Magic Jamming basically greatly reduce all their Magic Attack, while Rimuru's side Magic Power damages are greatly reduced but still able to take out the Magalodons means something. Normal power level of magic attack will technically does zero damage or unable to even use it properly. Charybdis's extra skill Ultraspeed regeneration also makes him hard to be taken down by Rimuru's team current full force. As you can see Rimuru's Black lighting after affected by the Magic Jamming also doesn't do much damage to Charybdis. Orc Lord/Orc Disaster is like Demon Lord level 1~5, Charybdis power maybe like a Demon Lord level 30~40, while Milim is like a Demon Lord Level 100++(based on anime's at least 10 times stronger than Rimuru). Rimuru's current power is maybe like a Demon Lord level 10 as compared to Milim? At end of EP17, Tear mentioned that Demon Lord Frey was worried about Charybdis's revival, the reason being due to Charybdis is the Ruler of the Sky and its 2 skill is total anti to Frey's ability, so its a threat to her. This episode also let them know about the clowns that have been doing dirty jobs secretly, and they start to get the bigger picture and start to link to Demon Lord Clayman, who seems to be the mastermind of the whole issues to instruct Gelmud to create the Orc Lord and thus lead to the destruction of the Orge Village. Footman was 1st shown in EP10 where Benimaru told Rimuru they all about the high level masked Majin that he saw, which he had mistaken Rimuru as a comrade of that Masked Majin in EP9. I am quite curious how they going to end the main story at EP23, I am guessing this season might end with a cliff hanger that leads to Season 2. I think those who only read the WN, are missing out alot of stuff, as WN is just a draft when compared to the refined LN. I recommend those who read the WN with the LN, should go read the LN as well. Will be like a new game plus with new things added and some setting changed, and new routes and change of appearance timing of some characters. For those who only seen the Anime, can start with Manga to fill in the missing details in the anime, then go to the LN, try to avoid the WN until you have finished up to the latest of the LN. WN is like the draft of the Novel, while LN is the refine final version of the story.
The original of that time I got reincarnated as a slime is website novel but there are book type of novels and comics. Also there are two kinds of spinoff comics too.
The part with the white knight is the human empire war arc, which comes way latter into the series. They re just teasing with the first op. Btw Milim is one of the most powerful entity in that universe, like late-game team carry strength. Right now, Rimuru is no where near as powerful as one tiny bit of her power.
how strong is milim? well, she's one of the strongest demon lords, she's at the highest class of monster, she's a dragonoid, and nicknamed "the destroyer"...
also, the anime is not that different from manga and light novel, but they skip a lot of things and explanations... so much that if they include everything, orc lord arc would be at episode 30-40...
The fact that Gobta's voice is young Naruto and Hakuro is Jiraiya makes their interactions that much better.

I can't wait for season 2. Based on the manga,rimuru becomes a demon lord right after the events of season 1. The dudes op as a demon lord,in fact his considered the most powerful demon lord since he beat the lights out of clayman who was one of the top tier demon lords that managed to sub due and mind manipulate milim. Rimuru also gets another buff when he fights veldoras older sister. He awakens the abilities of a true dragon basically making him the 5th true dragon in history on top of having the demon lord amp.

I expect most fights in the future to be the same though I hav yet read of another. One or two more arcs and they have caught up with the manga.

The sharks weren't the main enemy, they're just fodder. Plus we all knew from the start that Team Tempest is op, especially the Kijin. It would be kinda dumb if the op Kijin had trouble against the puny flying sharks.

So for this week's rants...
1- Kazuma does a good job here. And Gerudo/Held is a defense type, a tank, so he is doing a good job stopping those megalodons.
2- Yep, Gobuta is dead (more death training from Hakurou)
3- Ranga is a Tempest type. He actually learned flying after Rimuru ate the Orc Lord. Orc Lord ate Gelmund who has flying magic, so Rimuru learn it. Then Great Sage make Ranga learn it.
4- Gluttony is one of the Seven Sins series. An upgrade of Predator after being combined with the Starving Ones. Now Rimuru can absorb things faster and learn skills better.
5- That dwarf guy, he actually know that is Milim, only, on the surface, he needs to act like he doesn't know. Because if it spread to other countries, it will be bad. Like, super bad.
6- Karrion is a beast king, king of beast men. And including Frey, are two weakest demon Lord. That's why if Million ever said anything, they hardly can go against her. And the reasons why they want a demon Lord serving under them. Milim hardly can be pleased after all. She can destroy a nation on her whim. So the lives of their countries in jeopardy if Milim ever throw a temper.
7- How strong is Milim? Planet destroyer strong. Not kidding. And she isn't kidding when she said she learns how to restrain her strength. Karion and Frey are afraid of her because she never know how to control her temper before. So it's a good job from Rimuru in educating Milim that enables that guy to live.
8- Next week's titled Kagurazaka Yuuki. Which means~ it time for the school arc!!! And that arc is also association with a few people. A merchant, a church Inquisitor, some children, a golem and also a pixie.
9- The fight is a bit short because they need to catch up to the next important arc, which will be important for Rimuru's character development.

Well, Rimuru just ate Charybdis so he should have gained quite a lot of power with that.
They didn't really mention it here but when Milim destroyed Charybdis's body it hadn't been defeated for good. As you have seen its' essence was still merged with Phobios's body.
Had he been left alone and unattended Charybdis would have just regenerated itself within a few hours.
Had Phobio been killed its' essence would have moved on to another body.
In other words: It wouldn't have stopped.
But when Rimuru extracted it from Phobio and ate it it was the actual end of Charybdis.
As for his strength, Rimuru is quite powerful already. As we have seen before Milim would already be fine with him becoming a demon lord, which would mean he's probably quite comparable to Carrion concerning his power. He may even be stronger considering he ate the Orc Disaster, who was a true demon lord albeit a very new one and Charybdis, which is said to have strenth comparable to a demon lord.
The Orc Disaster could evolve because he ate countless souls. Rimuru hasn't done anything the like so he cannot go through the actual evolution. Proclaiming himself to be a demon lord would probably be possible though, especially since he would be recognized by Milim and possibly by Carrion as well.
I haven't read the Manga too far beyond the point where we are now in the show but from how we know Rimuru I doubt his goal would be the actual evolution if it's not an absolute necessity. He just wouldn'T be willing to kill that many living beings if he can avoid it.
The thing is that the story is building him up to become stronger and stronger so at some point I guess it may happen. Who knows? Maybe he'll find an alternate way to actually evolve? Or maybe he just surpasses the demon lords without actually becoming one himself?
I guess we will have to wait and find out.

Orc disaster wasn't a true demon lord, he didn't under go the harvest festival. The subs were bad on that episode, it actually said transformation to demon lord "seed" not demon lord.

Milim is one of the most powerful demon lord, of all the demon lords she's the only one who has infinite magicule pool because i think her father was a sort of dragon god? So you can kind of guess the extend of her power. I think Rimuru was the only other one with infinite magicule pool but he's not quite poweful yet
After absorbing Carybodis he will get lots of new skills especially ultra speed regeneration and magic jamming
he already has ultraspeed regeneration, you can check back in episode 9 when hakurou cut one of rimuru's arms and he just regrew them instantly.

in my opinion, this anime season should end with 30+ episodes, but after Shizu arc, the tv anime turn into a high speed summary that chop off all the juicy details from novels and manga and rush to end in 25 episodes.

I was a bit disappointed that we didn't really see anything from the pegasus knights of note this time.
By chance can anyone see anything in the stars at the end, it looks like they're showing something given how clustered they are.

This aforementioned white knights dont actually show up in the story until much later, they are followers to the girl that shows up with them. you'll find out about her at some point, just not during the span of the first opening (they jumped the gun a little by throwing in a ton of characters)
It was difficult to animate the battle with sharks so they had to make it short. The battle with the orc were more entertaining.
Should've played the theme to JAWS for opening credits. Besides there were at lest twenty giant sharks.

you have to admit Charybdis is strong due to its extra skill Magic Jammer and High-Speed Regeneration (p.s 2 more skill wasn't mentioned) also they did not explain why it requires a physical body to survive and why they can't reason with the beast. you have to either go look for that information online or read the manga or light novel.
