What's this, two casual games in a row. Well, i felt like covering them. And Sushi go party is about as good as a casual game gets. Simple rules, one decision per turn, wonderful art and theme, and set collection rules that most gamers will find compelling. Sushi go was a great little game, and sushi go party is just more of it, but in a good way. Lots to love here.
This game might be “casual” but it’s got plenty to strategize for experience gamers. The fact that it plays up to 8 without increasing play time is a huge plus. Very few games manage that.
Love this game; the Cutthroat Combo is excellent for my friends who like more versus style gaming, while the other deck combos are great for casual or new players. One of the few party games I own, and it's a great start of the night sorta thing
This has been a go to for our family for quite some time. Will admit though that due to the sorting out of the cards etc means that the original Sushi Go gets favoured over Party if we are feeling a little rushed or worn out. SG Party is better. SG is just easier to get to the table.
Phil Walker-Harding is the master of light games. There's a couple of specials that slow this way more than is worth (Menu IIRC) it but if you avoid those it's great.
I've had this game for years and I love it. So why do I watch a 3mbg on it? Idk something about the voice behind it that is ever so charming in describing it. Stay classy.
Awesome game, the only real problem I have with it is I think the fault of the publisher of the version I have, which is that the cards are VERY flimsy (more like paper than cardstock). No casualties yet, but I would genuinely fear playing it with strangers lol

I still think OG sushi Go is the better buy. The central board thing is fiddly in party and I don't think the options add all that much. Trying to explain chopsticks to grandparents is bad enough, changing it each time is just too much (for what it is)
Question: I remember in an old video you said you played Warmachine - have you tried or heard of 'Brawl machine' at all? It's a fan made ruleset and it's AMAZING. The games are short, strategic, fun, and it really feels how Warmachine was always meant to be played. It's essentially Warmachine at the 25 point level, but with all the stupidly powerful casters removed and an FA of 'one' on all units and solos, and as a result there is a huge range of casters and models that can be played and still be competitive. Anyway you may enjoy taking a look at it, even if you don't want take it up again!
@@3MBG Yes. I think 2nd edition was a big high point of the game. The rules for 3rd were actually a lot better overall, but losing all the in built knowledge was hard. Brawlmachine is fun as even though it's 25 points you still have the caster jack points so the game is all about the metal.!

I would recommend buying sleeves for this game ASAP (57x89) as you will end up playing it a lot more than you expect.

My favourite thing about this game is that it plays perfectly for 3 up to 8 players (2-player drafting is never great).
A favorite with my family. You better believe that's a gold medal game!
One of my favorite games - though I think I like Sushi Go better than Sushi Go Party, as you can get into the game a bit faster.

Another "bad" thing to add : the insert is trash, the cards don't stay in place at all in the box if you move it a bit sadly

That does sound pretty cool. I dropped from warmachine when 3rd ed came out as the rules overhead was just too much. Simpler sounds good
