    Very unusual style blade. Double edge without a point ! Impressive cutting ! BTW, I'm subbed to the guy that cuts the tp tubes.
    You are always coming up with unique blades, I like em !

      Thank you. The guy with the tp tubes keeps getting recommended to me by TH-cam. He can get knives really sharp.

    Interesting knife design Totes 📸

      Thank you. This is kind of a test knife. I get to test a new design and I also get to test a thinner grind on 3V. So far it’s ok.

    i really like the style of wide blades, kinda worktuff vibe

      Yeah, this knife reminds me of a huge box cutter.

    in order to get the front edge on something like this - try a Besh wedge grind --- actually now that I think on it the Besh wedge might not work on this particular shape

      I looked it up because I hadn’t heard of the Besh wedge grind. Thank you for showing me something new, this gives me ideas which I don’t know if I’ll actually do but: chisel grinds on opposite sides with opposing chisel grinds at the front end that meet at the middle. If anything it would look nice.

    in terms of thicknes its basically a kitchen knife, but overall its a headsplitter!

      Yeah it cuts really well. But I think I found the limit of how thin I can go with 3V. It would be a single use head splitter.

      @@powerplay4real174 yeah, the Seax side did a surprisingly deep and effortless cut into the phone book. That did impress me.

      @@totesmalotesI wish I knew how to grind and sharpen but I’m just awful at it. I know 3V is very difficult to work with too so good on you. Did you have to intermittently cool the blade in water as you ground it?

    • @totesmalotes
      @totesmalotes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nikosplaysdrums5678 I do dunk it in water between passes. What I do is I grind with the blade horizontal, this is probably why my grind lines aren’t that clean. What this does is it keeps water on top of the blade and while I’m grinding I make sure the water doesn’t heat up enough to start evaporating. So I only do one pass before each dunk. This along with me using a 4x36 belt grinder makes this process super long. It takes practice but you could be really good at anything.
