I am sorry for your loss. One of my younger brothers died at age 50, 2014.He had a fatal heart attack from diabetes. His fave song was Poncho and Lefty, so whenever I hear it, I think of him.

Not a country fan, though I will give a listen to a few artists. This is one of my favorites and if country music as a whole was more like this, I'd be hooked.
I grew up on country and GS is my favorite. More than a country singer, he's a gentleman in most every way. I've heard nothing but good stories about him and believe it, he just walks, talks and sings genuine. Thanks for being open and it's nice to hear someone non country appreciate traditional country.

This was when country was pure and country was country. A lot of memories come from these songs. More modern country is not really country. Its become toxic when they mixed other styles of music to it and that many great singers have died or stopped singing for whatever reasons. If you want true country you will have to listen to older country.

My daughter and her best friend use to sing this song and do a little skit with it. They were so young about 8-9 . It was adorable, Unfortunately the friend, became a teacher, fought with depression and committed suicide. My daughter still treasures this song and happier memories.🙏💙😢

I love George!!! His eyes are sooo gorgeous. And his smile makes me wanna tear up. I had/have a friend who loves George so much and she has since past away. One day she was upstairs asleep and my fiancé and I were watching George on tv. As soon as she heard him sing "I Cross My Heart" she raced downstairs just to listen to "her George" as she would say. Miss her with all my heart.
