Doing 3-5 days of Fasting/ tiny amount of pellets + Daily salt + some methlyne blue is a great solve too
You can also try treating with melaleuca oil but with recommended dosages.
salt is better because it causes an osmotic shock that destroys the cell membrane of the bacteria. 2 grams of sea salt for every 10 liters of water
Do we have to add salt daily?
for white spot just methlyne blue and small pellets did it for me
What kind of salt
I hope you NEVER delete this video. I know that this is a treatment for guppies, but I decided to do this treatment for a betta fish that I have, and it seems to be working. As of 4-24-24 3rd day of treatment, it is working. On the 2nd day, I thought the betta was dead, but he was kicking and pushing through. I hope and believe this will work! Thank you!
How’s your Beta doing now?
I have 2 guppy, one is lying on the bottom of tank, after seeing ur video, i decided to put that sleepy, inactive guppy in a bowl, so im having doubt is can i put the single guppy alone? Can we treat single guppy like that?
So wait just aquarium salt and drinking water is enough?, wouldn't they die from the water since its not conditioned? Also what about the temperature and oxygen like a small airstone?
Doesn't even need to be aquarium salt. Just pure rock salt with no additives will do the same. He didn't use tap water. He used bottled drinking water which doesn't contain chlorine or chloramines so it doesn't need conditioning. Guppies also have a wide water temperature tolerance.
we all like your video with your voice so plzzzzzz make a video with your voice 😊😊
That would be cool but there is always Internet problems and we don't know who will do what with it
Yes i have uploade new video already with my voice . Enjoy watching.
What type of salt did you use?
Was that your typical aquarium salt or something else? Would this also work for Neon Tetras?
they use rock salt dont use iodize salt.
I was wondering if this method would work for any type of fish?
Doesn’t make sense… do I add salt multiple times a day??? Or just daily? Every 3 days ? Only when water goes down ? You didn’t explain lol what the hell do I do 😂
MOST EXCELLENT TECHNIQUE CONGRATULATIONS.
Hey hi … I wanna ask … I use ur method n cured the guppies. ( All my guppies about 20 got it ) But when I put them back into the tank their tails clamped back again n sick the next day. Aside water I actually have a covered UV light in tank . Also I notice small little white worms in tank. Could these be the cause ?
I've been watching your videos for a while bro
but it would help me if you put the option of subtitles in Spanish, since I am Mexican and I do not have much knowledge in English, thanks in advance and your wonderful species are appreciated
Im gonna try to do this method because i noticed one of the male guppy fin somhow small amd not blue. Thankfully i found your video and wanted to give a shot ill be saving your video if it works. Im more into betta experience so its my first time healing a guppy fish
Along with salt you can use tetracycline 500mg (actually 250mg enough) for a speedy recovery.
How to use tetracycline ist tab or powder
What kind of salt is this?
I think it’s aquarium salt
Rocksalt
you would have been better off treating the entire tank where the fish came from with salt, because if there is bacterial growth it is already on all the fish, even those that appear healthy. 2 gr. per 10 liters of non-iodized sea salt.
Ty… does this apply to parasites also like worms?
Pellets are harmful for guppy and molly ??
What about the tank? How do we make sure they don’t get sick again?
Gracias,,tu video me ayudó mucho !!
Pwede po ba kahit hindi rock salt ang gamitin?
does not work. I lost an entire tank of 30+ females trying this.
Hi my mollies have same white dots is the treatment same for mollies as well?
Yea, mollies and gupplies are pretty similar, awuarium salt in general kills freshwater bacteria and dieseases, if they have white spots which is generally ich, you can also set a heater over 77 degrees to help speed the living cycle of ich and kill them
Yes you can.
This seems very helpful but I'm worried my guppy will die of hunger😢.
Don't worry, they will recover on their own
Does this work for parasites as well?
Lost 5 female guppies because of fin rot, have tried to cure with some other method but not worked. Thank you for sharing this video. I will try the same.
I would do lots of research on columnaris in guppies. If that's the issue, salt by itself will probably not solve things.
Columnaris is very difficult to treat. I use my method only 50% chance of survival rate. But there is no wrong in trying so 🤷
@@albertsguppyadventure4293 Without antibiotic therapy, the mortality rate is 100%. The other unfortunate thing is it is technically a "super bug" now. Based on scientific studies done on columnaris (flavobacterium columnare), it's resistant to multiple antibiotics. Kanamycin is effective, SMZ/TMP, and other sulfa antimicrobials. Of course, salt doesn't hurt as an adjunctive treatment to assist with gill function/slime coat stimulation/osmoregulation- and it may help the fish recover quicker.
It can also be difficult to diagnose as well due to the different strains with varying symptoms. The more virulent strains can wipe out a tank overnight with no outward symptoms. Finding multiple fish/all fish dead the next morning could be from lots of different things, and there isn't a reliable way to differentiate the cause (without cytology/necropsy/diagnostics) if there are no symptoms of disease.
I faced white spot disease once in rummy nose tetra and I used ridall anti ich liquid and fish got cured within one day
Thanks very much
Iodized or non-iodized salt?
My Red lace survive finrot, i did the same as you do but i used methylene blue and salt
you should add a lid just incase they jump out
Thank you for shared
what to do with tilted spine guppys
Can i treat my Molly like this?
Addy kind of salt or
Bro very informative video. Can this work on betta fish also ?
nice work glad you got them healed up :)
Is it ok to use table salt
Bro if you feed them once doesn’t happen anything okay.. if you are sick don’t you eat anything for 7days?? You just try it if possible then do experiment on fishes
🚨 please I'm still unsure about rock salt whether it's aquarium rock salt or kitchen rock salt?
🚨 can i use the kitchen one?
I'm honoured for your help 😇💖
In my large living room aquarium I now have a blue tail female guppy, very healthy ready to have fry, I may have to secure a small terrarium and use it as a fish tank in which the female can give birth undisturbed.
And one day my albino guppies wiped out .....clamped fins..... sluggish movement... couldn't save them.......alas , I have seen your video before....atleast would have tried to save them......
Thanks for sharing! This is very helpful!
I have some guppy fry that seem to be a bad batch… I found two dead in the pond and three more that were lethargic. There are tons of them in there and only these several with the same coloring seemed to be off 🤔 I took them in to a hospital tank and add a pinch of aquarium salt.. will this help? I feel your method is too extreme for the tiny babies
7 days without food???? really? they can survive 7 days without eating?
That treatment works depending on what the issue is. Otherwise most more serious guppy ailments are not resolved with this old treatment technique.
Great video. Thank you.
Can you use pink rock salt? It’s the only rock salt I have in the house.
Very helpful video. Thank you ❤
Ur always welcome
This tutorial is at top tier!!!💪
I have roughly 50 to 60 guppies in a 35. I need help deciding what to do to keep them happier. Do I have to separate some so they arent to crowed? They also like 1 to 2 die a day. I clean the gravel. And filter. And some of the glass not all of it. Please help. Most my other fish are happy and healthy. I just struggle with guppies. They are probably easy to take care of but I think they are more fragile and prone to disease
Hi dont know why my female guppies die before giving babies
Are you not adding water conditioner to drinking water that goes in a small cup?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Regular salt or aqua salt?
rock salt
how did u make the siphon extractor ? using any motor
Glad I saw this video, my guppies have always had problems with dropsy, studied a little bit more about it and like I suspected fungal and bacterial infections as well as stress during transfer can then kill the fish if it is not treated.
I understand now also that I have to be more diligent with water cleanliness. The tank parameters have been good, but not good enough so I will perform smaller water changes more often and try to clean out pockets of the substrate where detritus collects more often. I noticed that was one neglected area last time when I did my regular weekly water change.
I have increased the bio load of my large aquarium tremendously so I will be even more tedious with water cleanliness. And it is easy to do and does not take much time to just remove some detritus and replace some water with RO water. It is such a menial task that does not take long.
I understand that if I don't do that in a tank with a higher bio load it will run into problems.
I want to do the best for my pets, aquariums bring so much peaceful enjoyment.
When it comes to the small hospital tank with a male and female guppy I thought would not make it, they are better, starting to eat and are now much more active. They are not out of the woods yet, the female guppy is still thin from not eating for 5 days, but one person online suggested they actually do not feed the fish with dropsy for 5 days and then start feeding them slowly again so that was cool, the male guppy still is a little bloated in the belly area, but not really bad. Continuing with small water changes and salt treatment, pretty simple really.
The ultimate reward would be if the guppy pair could get fry, because the colors of a yellow leopard male and yellow, orange colored female could produce gorgeous baby fish, keeping my fingers crossed.
What are the plants you are using in that water tub?
Please let me know
Esey treatment add Indian almond leaf 🌿 in tank. 💯 Working
My female guppies do not have appetite and they always stay at the corner of the tank. What should I do?
I do the same with my Betta. But I use 1/4 salt in 1 cup water. I put the sick Betta in the solution for 45 seconds. Then I take em out and put the betta in 1 gallon tank with 4 indian almond leaves. The water gets extremely dark but this helps the Betta recover quickly. The fins will dissolve because of the salt used before but it'll fully recover in about 3 weeks. I've had them live years after this treatment without ever getting sick again.
Edit: I change the water and leaves in the 1 gallon tank every 3 days for 3 weeks. This worked for every sickness my Bettas had except for the sickness where 1 female swole up and her scales were raised.
it's called dropsy.
@@1994flowerhorn thanks
Thanks I will keep this noted.

I'm doing this right now with my last guppy female. But i think she has Columnaris which i do not think can be cured this way But she has fin rot, clamped fins and white stringy stool with patches of white on her back. 😢 I have meds in route, but they are still 2 or so days out. So i hope this can help reduce other issues and stress in the mean time. Thanks for the video

Havent tried it before. Im not sure 😕
Will they survive dude?
Whivh guppy spice is tt

I am using similar treatment, both one male and female guppy showed signs of dropsy. Heavy breathing, no eating so I have been doing small water changes and keeping them in a 5 gallon tank. They have improved already, now they are eating small amounts of food and they are more active. Hopefully they will be fully healthy again.
Hi! Did you keep your sick guppies in a small container as well? No filter,no heater, no plants? I'm asking because I'm scared to take them out of the tank without filtration
Can I do it for my glow tetra fish?
Please someone tell me 😢
Which salt you use
Kitchen salt
Fish salt not Kitchen salt
Thank you for the guide
Why my 3 guppies died following this method ? By the way I used salt that is made for fish tanks and added on a lip bit of it, next day they are all dead, not sure what's been done wrong!
I would guess the change was too sudden, or the salt bath was too strong or long.
It often helps if the salt bath is quite short and they go back in to non salted water for the most of the quarantine time
Estou criando guppy selvagem mas não sei como procriar os para colocar mais conteúdo no meu canal 😊
Thanks a lot
will store bought rock salt work?
One of my females have developed fin rot so shall I use aquarium salt, methylene blue and quarantine it till it completely heals?
Yes much better separate the sick guppy
How you treat algae free tubs brother
hi Albert i caught many many wild guppies and only and when i put them in a tank they started to have clamped fins they shimmying but i did acclimate them whats wrong?do i need to fast them?thank you if u replied
😅😁
Maybe the sudden change of ph? Or being stressed
@@colourfulmlbb5889 oh yeah your right they are very much stressed!!!i researched of signs on google and maybe the shymying is caused by severe stress
Hello i tried keeping wild guppies as well before and qll of them dead after 24 hours. The fact that they are wild, i think you have a very low chances of keeping them.
We want blue texudo baby update video bro
Can you prevent disease by buying guppies once and then never again?
Can you also get diseases in your aquarium through aquatic plants?
The disease is inherent in all life(forms) to begin with
and it erupts/shows on the stressed individuals. You dot. Have to worry so much about bringing in the disease, and more about maintaining balanced water quality.
😊🙏
Fish name
Woah, this will help me in the future whenever I get guppies! ❤
What's the fish name in the nearby tank
Can I put 2 to 3 male guppies together to do this?
My guppies has tin rot, is it ok to use salt?
