Once this pandemic screws off, I'm buying one of these. Been my dream guitar along with the dc127 for years. Remember seeing it in the November 2012 issue of guitar world. Haven't stopped dreaming of it since. R.I.P Allan Holdsworth. You keep on inspiring us, and you always will.
@@iancrespo_ No, I didn't get to purchase one. My mother got cancer, so I just can't justify a guitar now. I forgot that I posted that. Strange year. Next year I'll get one. edit: Sorry for complaining folks. I'm not the only one going through stuff. I just don't have anyone to talk to anymore. I attended and helped film both Holdsworth tribute concerts in 2018 and 2019. Alex completely melted everyone’s minds both nights. He played with all the greats both nights and stood next to them like a legend. Can’t wait to see all the great stuff his future holds.
Duuude....this is not just a guitar, it is a piece of art. Great sound and looks so comfortable to play! Congratulations to the kiesel staff for their work.
Wow. For the longest I thought this instrument was just another signature guitar of use to only AH and chopsmeisters like him. But this instrument actually has some diverse and really nice sounding clean tones too. I'm impressed, great playing also. Thanks for posting this video, it really expands on this instrument's possibilities.
This is amazing! I played that guitar at Namm 2019 and it was incredible! I agree he really does capture the essence of Holdsworth. I will miss him so much. Perhaps my favorite improviser of all time.
Clearly an extremely advanced player! Truly inspiring. I have a Holdsworth 2, I truly love it. I feel maybe that gets overlooked a bit in these videos. Nothing taken from the players or playing, but these are truly exceptional guitars, to my mind. Awesome clean or overdriven. Balanced tone, highly playable, articulate, these are very modern takes on electric guitar, without fundamentally changing the instrument. I note this because, this tends to be a fairly predictable world, guitar designs considered. I’ve lamented before the lack of forward thinking options, thanks to Kiesel though, there’s options. Headless designs, to me, are superior. Better balance, more comfort, helps eliminate dead spots, travel friendly, easier to restring, reintonate. There’s nothing wrong with Strats, Les Pauls, etc., their just kind of old hat, usually modified, hot rodded... Plus, these are far more versatile than just AH music. They achieve lively jazz guitar sounds, easily, and can be used to play tasty blues, rock, funk. I’m curious about the new Holdsworth pickups, I know Allan tended towards less hot pickups, preferring a more balanced, lower gain, more articulate tone. It sounds like the new version has more gain.
sad he passed away I got to see him at the santa ana show room before you closed it with jimmy haslip and virgil dinotti I could see why he was a pro pretty cool to shake his hand
yes Id say the backing track was something did you read who it was ? Jimmy and Virgil. Stellar playing The guitar is well priced I want the amp with it or the settings. Reminded me of Kevin Eubanks on the piece had that sound also nailed
Great playing. You deviated somewhat from the compositional line on non brewed condiment. I own a fat boy. I wonder if HH2X Sounds much different. Certainly sounds fantastic here. I wonder how much is dirvor the gear your using. Would you be able to list that? Thanks
I always wondered which tones were guitar and which were synthaxe. impressed by your demo: have always wanted a Carvin chambered Holdsworth model ever since you first released them, but pretty much devoted to my Parker Fly classic
For the atmospheric sounds it doubled up multi stereo delays. See this guy for more on generating Holdsworth tones th-cam.com/video/Bpmc2jcAEdI/w-d-xo.html And also th-cam.com/video/bmuaFHI1KCI/w-d-xo.html
Aside from the playing (which is great), could Alex please comment on the guitar configuration here? Is it chambered? Does that help? How is the neck profile here? Would this guitar suit a single coil on the neck rather than double humbucker? Thanks a lot! Hope anyone from kiesel or anyone who has this guitar could comment please (to guide the buying)
This specific guitar is chambered. Chambering definitely affects the tone of the guitar (Allan preferred chambered guitars). The neck profile is a thicker C shaped neck. The Holdsworth model sounds great with a single coil in the neck. Hope these answers have helped you!
This dude is a monster of a player. Impeccable technique.
This dude knows his Holdsworth. He nailed the tones and phrasing
But not most important ingredient..... HEART
@@fusionhar exhume and dig out the heart then.. dumb comment
@@ArtyomAnna enjoy soulish music then
@@fusionhar I disagree. you just can't play Allan's stuff with only "heart" so i don't think it's the most important ingredient at all

Alex makes Holdsworth's music his own. He has his own style and interpretation.
Amazing musician!
Definitely nails the Holdsworth tone.
Man, he nails soloing like Allan without sounding like Allan, amazing. Such a nuanced difference between imitation and influence.
Man, so good
Loving the sound of those pickups.
These pickups sound amazing!

@John Connor Calm down dude lol. No need to be a typical guitarsehole and rip on other people for no reason.
Kiesel, give this man like, 5.
rude
Very helpful video for getting an idea of the guitar's sound, thank you!
Loved the video! Alex is awesome and this guitar is killer!!! Allan's legacy will stand on!
You had me at the drum intro 😎 great playing #kieselisthefuture
Man, my right hand is all over the place! What economy and result!! Tremendous!!!
Alex, Virgil, and Jimmy Trio. This should be a thing of not already. They’re all amazing performers. What a sick guitar also. Haha

Damn if I didn’t know any better I’d think I was listening to Allan himself. Dude you seriously should do a tribute album. That’d be an insta buy!
Monster player! Well done, sir
Great playing Alex!
You are great and a fantastic teacher. Thanks Derryl...
KIESEL ALLAN HOLDSWORTH eu realizei esse sonho e comprei essa guitarra!! Obrigado meu Deus 🙏🏼❤️🎸
Exceptional! Great vibe and phrasing.
Wow! This was an absolute pleasure to watch...dude shredded the shit out of that kiesel 🤘🤤

absolutely crushing playing. This guy makes ANYTHING sound good. I am assuming the amp and fx are fractal?
On his instagram he said he uses a deluxe reverb with a zakk wylde overdrive, but he might be using whatever kiesel had (possibly an axefx)
Great demo of a great guitar.
That guitar is beautiful 😮
Awesome demo ! Alex absolutely nailed the NBC song (a song about whiskey or beer I believe) and all those awesome AH tones. Great little guitar.
A non brewed condiment is vinegar.
Some really nice playing
Great playing Alex. Brilliant
Amazing Comp and Performance.

What a beautiful guitar and tone... Wish I had a guitar like this.
Have one of these guitars, this guy is sick
love this song. great job alex!
The dream is a short scale bass versión of this
Me too, my hands aren't big enough to play Holdsworth on 25.5...... lol
Flawless and note for 🎵🎶

The guitar is the badassest instrument ❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🎸

What a stunner
No w I know why Eddie stated it was like falling down the stairs and landing on your feet listening to holdsworth
Sounds awesome
Where do you find someone to demo like that? Goddam !!
What was the rest of the signal chain here? Alex really nails Allan’s tone
He played at the memorial show! He is amazing
Its so satisfying to see how his fingers move on the fretboard....more satisfying than watching the hydraulic press videos.
hahaha
Awesome!

Whoever did the backing track did an amazing job too.
2:40 gives me chills, nails that allan swell tone. Is that a strymon?
Geez now I gotta buy one of my hero
Really great playing there, i was wondering if it was possible to get your latest album or cd (with your own playing off cause) ??
Is there any distributor of this guitar in Indonesia? Please let me know if any. 🙏
At 2:40 how is He getting that wild sound? Great looking guitar.
I think its a fuzzface or something for the lead disortion sounds.
For the atmospheric sounds it doubled up multi stereo delays.

Do you guys do a 7 string version?
no more, sadly
They did for about a year, but it has been discontinued for a while.
charles harrison music use 7 string Kiesel Holdsworth
… and suddenly I feel like the guy in Guitar Center - next to this dude - playing "Smoke on the Water", incorrectly …
Does someone know its fretboard radius? Thanks!
interesting technique right before the 2 minute mark with your thumb almost under the neck.
What amp ? What battery of FX are driving this guitar ?

Guitar looks weird and cute like a flapjack octopus 😍😍
Aeolus what..
holyshit!
Nice legato Maan!
Amp wise what are you using?
Face melted after just 3 seconds. 🤯
Alex almost Allan..................or more with this guitar
Alexander Sill
That's the Holdsworth Honk sound
Seems so easy... being so dificult!
Not many people on the planet able to roll this one out
very low action guitar
missing Allan....
Hello Alex ...Wow, you are an insane player! How are you getting the tonal curve? Parametric or graphic eq?

Soli Deo Gloria in Christi Iesu.
Yes but can he WRITE original music
Beuty
:)
What is the string action hight on one of these out of the factory?
very very low, strings are nearly laying on the fret board on their 20" radius guitars!
elevenAD interesting, I wonder how difficult it is to bend with 10’s on one.
Well - I’de like to hear this instrument played by someone not playing in the style it is more obviously known for
more like Meshuggahsworth!
WTF
