I had a full set of flat wounds on and loved the tone, it was so authentically 'Jazz', but found it was technically limiting for modern techniques (I could only bend the G a half step!). But the warmth of the low B string convinced me to keep it there!
I have no idea I'm afraid. That's a bit too niche of a question for me. I've had this axe nearly 5 years at this point and frets are still like new. No scratchiness or wear at all and I'm a guitarist for a living only using this guitar. Cheers
This was in the discount section on the Kiesel site, I feel I hit the gold mine! I believe people order them using the secret 'off menu' options nowadays. It's no more effort for them to add a wider neck and a 7 string bridge 🌉🌉🌉
Best of luck, they have been discontinued for a while now. However they are possibly available as a secret option 'off-menu' which Kiesel has a lot of... Cheers
I know that these are discontinued now unfortunately. However, you may be able to add it as the secret Kiesel option? Let me know please, I'm curious too!
@@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition Hey Charles, it's not about the quality of a wire cutter. The simple trick is to cut the string BEFORE u tighten the locking screw. You could either: 1) With the ball-end loaded as far forward (toward the headpiece) as u can get it at the bridge, load the string thru the headpiece slot and pull taught (don't pull for your life, just take all the slack out). Maybe LIGHTLY snug the screw on the string to hold it in place, but it's not necessary. Cut the string as close to the headpiece as u can (Use masking tape on the headpiece if you're concerned with scratching it with the snips). If u want to use a spare finger on the cutter hand to keep the string from boucing back towards the bridge (if u didn't do the "snug" thing, again, no biggie) while the other hand keeps the excess string from firing across the room. Pull the freshly cut string back just enough to clear the end of the headpiece. NOW tighten it down and tune up. OR (I think the easier way) 2) Do all of that without loading the string into the headpiece at all. Eyeball it to the end of the headpiece, then cut it. Your couch, and maybe your fingers and/or eyeballs, will thank you. Lol. Cheers and congrats!
I will be sure to give that a go in future! I have a nice new set of optimas ready to go and will take this step by step. Appreciate your time, cheers!
@@CharlesHarrisonMusicTuition You're welcome. It was killing me to see that cat claw u had there haha. I got all kindsa tricks to avoid that stuff. I've stuck myself plenty of times with sharp string ends. Def no bueno lol
Truly a dream guitar! I've never heard before of only the 7th string on flatwound, thats very intriguing

Its just feels like you just touching the wood.

Its truly beautiful guitar btw.
Likely my finest moment on this channel! Cheers
Are the gold
Frets actually smoother than the stainless??

How did you get the 7 string option??? I don’t think they normally do that for the Holdsworth model

Looking for one myself!

Can you spec an HH2 with a 7th string or no?

White Limba is also known as Korina
I had no idea although I've heard of both! I'm no good at this stuff 😂 cheers for that info!
OHHHHHHHHH yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
Pleased someone is as excited as I am! Good man 🙏
If you use a wire cutter you can get rid of the sharp ends.
I will invest in some better ones, mine don't get me right up to the end. Cheers for the tip!

Unfortunately they don't make the 7th strings anymore
Gutting, I know! I would like a six string tremolo version still though 😉
That wood top kinda looks like cat vomit... and somehow I like it... What's wrong with me?
I know exactly what you mean- you should see it in person though! Stunning...
You made it sound like 50 dollar guitar....
Thanks Martin!!
lmao you can't reason with tab users
