  • Getting a perfect mask on your subject can be pretty tricky, especially if they have a lot of hair. In this video, we'll go over the easy way to mask and cut a person out from the background of your photo in Affinity Photo. Hope this helps!

    The thing I appreciate most is that this video isn’t 25 minutes long! Good job 👍

    As always, great tutorial! I am still using Photoshop. Bought the Creative Cloud for a year with a friend, maybe you remember. Nevertheless I want to learn more about alternatives and your videos come in great handy. Thank you, Michael!

      Btw I hope you are doing well and you found a job that fits your expertise :) (in your first vlog you said that you are taking online classes to learn more about online marketing to take your career to a next level)

      Thank you! I'm glad my videos come in handy for you. I actually decided not to take up marketing for my career. I decided to just focus more on my photography because I realized I wasn't that into marketing. But I will say the marketing skills I learned from the courses help a lot with other parts of my life, like getting clients.

    Just came and subscribed because there's a good chance I'll be leaving Adobe soon and I need to surround myself with people that know these softwares. Have you found Affinity to be a good replacement for Photoshop and/or Lightroom?

    • @MichaelSturgill
      @MichaelSturgill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much. Affinity is a great replacement for photoshop but not so much lightroom. I'm still trying to find great software to fully replace lightroom. Right now I'm using luminar but I'll probably end up switching to capture one or on1 at some point

    how to save the cutted area as PNG ?

    • @MichaelSturgill
      @MichaelSturgill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you need transparency, just make sure you don't have any other layer visible apart from what you cut out. Then go to Document on the top bar and make sure "transparent background" is checked. Then you can export as a PNG. Hope this helps!

      Yeah. I'll admit this is one of those things where Photoshop has the edge over Affinity. Hopefully they'll add features and make things like this easier
