  • Hi friends! This one is for all my #beginnercooks out there. Today I'm teaching you how to cook homemade gravy from scratch! No packets needed here, just a few simple ingredients that will give you the best tasting gravy you never thought you could make. I've come to realize that when I say "simple," there are a lot of people that will disagree because they are not comfortable in the kitchen or just don't like kitchen, so I've decided to dial it all the way back and get back to basics with a learn how to cook series. Ya'll let me know if you like this and share what "basic" meals or sides you struggle with.
    Salisbury Steaks video
    • Weeknight Comfort Meal...
    How to make rice video
    • Never Make Mushy Rice ...
    Gravy Ingredients
    3 tbsp all purpose flour
    3 tbsp butter
    salt/pepper
32 oz Beef broth (will not use all)
    Gravy Instructions
Melt the butter over medium heat, then add the flour. Whisk and cook for at least 1 minute. I like to cook it about 2 minutes before adding my liquid. Slowly begin to stir the beef broth into the skillet and make sure you constantly whisk. You will end up using about 3 cups of broth but add it until you have reached the desired consistency you're going for. Salt and pepper your gravy by tasting.

    About Me
Hello friends! Thank you for showing me love and stopping by my channel! My name is RaShae Lyle but everyone knows me as Shae. I'm a Christian, wife, mother, and cook. My love for cooking was sparked as a child watching my grandmother and mother cook southern classics. I spent many hours watching and asking basic questions before I started cooking full on meals at the young age of 11. Since then, it has become my passion to cook and bake for others and eventually my own family. I truly believe in the power of a good cooked meal and the many memories and conversations that can occur around the dining table. On this channel, my goal is to provide easy and delicious dinner ideas that will help other working moms feed their families with ease. Also, my dream is to help others learn the necessary cooking skills, that for some reason aren't being passed down to upcoming generations. I would love for each of you to become part of my community and subscribe to the channel.

Thank gosh I am not the only one who adds broth in as well. I make beef tips with rice and gravy over it. I added broth in it my uncle who is 60 loves it and he is picky about his southern food. I use the grease from the meat that I cooked. It added the flavor in the flour as it is cooking to make the rue. And I add water as well or milk depending on if I am doing a dark gravy or white gravy. It don't kill the broth taste either.

For instant beef broth, don't waste money on actual broth that is all gone after one use, use knorr beef bouillon granules to make your own broth. It's cheaper in the long run and last a whole lot longer and can be used for other stuff too. And it taste just as good or better, and very simple to make to. You can get the chicken kind too. Delicious 🤤.
