Well to be fair it's literally human nature to try and tell what's human and what's not, easily standing upright use of "hands" for multiple purposes and even easily seen skin folds are things we've learned to recognize as human both evolutionarily and in day to day life.

I used to work at the Minnesota Zoo, and we had a sun bear back in the day, and I can confirm that these creatures are the original "uncanny valley." They are SO WEIRD and are always acting like a brain-damaged person in a suit. I don't think I will ever understand them, but I do enjoy them.

Sun bears are just strange, mostly because they’re the most Basel species of bear alive today along with its close relatives, the spectacled bear the sloth bear. Both are the only bears that regularly eat insects, with the sloth bear’s diet being almost exclusively insects. They are the closest living group to the famous short faced cave bear from the ice age, which makes they’re diet and size all the weirder.

That loose skin thing is something in all bears I believe. It's a defense for bites and slashes from other animals. Since the skin is loose it can move with incoming attacks and minimize skin damage.

I will never forget the day 5000 years ago in which I met the Humabear. In when he stood exactly like a human, eventually that bear stood so high and reached the pinnacle of evolution, and the sun realized this organism as a threat. He cast a spell upon it and made it devolve and eventually, it became a sun bear to honor the sun for sparing its life. A truly inspirational day for humanity😢😭
Having loose skin is actually a pretty common evolutionary trait for carnivorous mammals. Honey Badgers, cats, dogs, bears and plenty of other mammals have loose skin because it makes it harder for a predator to predate you if you can flip around in his jaws and bite his face.

Because it is the only species to live in South America today and they DO come the jungles of darkest Peru. Instead, they gave the role of Paddington to a brown bear. How messed up is that? They don't even come from there! They did the same with my man Baloo! I love the 2016 live-action The Jungle Book movie but they changed him from sloth bear to brown bear! Forced bearversity!
Looking at the Hagfish and seeing how it's perfect in it's environment to such a degree that it doesn't need to evolve, automatically reminds me of bloodborne when you defeat the moon presence. You transcend human form and then transforms in a sluggish creature very similar to the Hagfish.

One reason they might put a person in a costume is money. It probably costs a lot to take care of the bear, feed it, and employ people to keep the cage clean and functional. You put a man in a bear suit in there and you are saving a lot of money in the long run.
If the bear is the size of a large dog, I highly doubt that feeding it is particularly expensive. Practically every other zoo on Earth manages to feed larger animals than that, so the idea that they would go through the hassle of creating a fake bear when they can just get a real one like everyone else is just absurd.
Don't underestimate these guys, they will run fades with tigers. They are actually incredibly strong for their size and unlike other bears have to defend themselves from predators regularly. They are absolute tanks.

When I was young, I wanted a unique animal to be my favorite animal, so I googled all bear species and chose the Sun Bear bc that guy looks wild. Glad my babies are getting some attention
This is really funny. Sun Bears have always been a favorite animal of mine because they look like they don't belong in their body. They walk funny, they sit funny. They have really weird tongues like...wow.
I remember in a documentary I watched when I was like 13 they were the cutest thing because they look like children who were reincarnated into a new species of animal. And that animal is the sun bear. Such a silly little animal. They're a gem.

I will never forget the day 5000 years ago in which I met the Humabear. In when he stood exactly like a human, eventually that bear stood so high and reached the pinnacle of evolution, and the sun realized this organism as a threat. He cast a spell upon it and made it devolve and eventually, it became a sun bear to honor the sun for sparing its life. A truly inspirational day for humanity😢😭

Having loose skin is actually a pretty common evolutionary trait for carnivorous mammals. Honey Badgers, cats, dogs, bears and plenty of other mammals have loose skin because it makes it harder for a predator to predate you if you can flip around in his jaws and bite his face.

@@toomanyaccounts If you have a pet such as a dog or cat, you can literally test this by pulling on their skin, not enough to hurt them but just enough to observe their properties, compared to our human skin, which isn't loose.

One side note is that zoos in China have dabbled in making fake animals. Not sure if it is the same zoo, but one zoo did try to make a "lion" which was actually a golden retriever. Unfortunately the lions "roars" were just barks but they did try
A lot of times the bones in bear paws are mistaken for a human hand and people out hiking or whatever usually call law enforcement thinking they’ve found human remains.
Last night as soon as my dad mentioned "bear costumes", I asked him if it was a Sun Bear 🤣🤣 they always look absolutely ridiculous

I've been to a sunbear sanctuary, they are really small and friendly I shook ones paw (stupidly I got told not to but oh well) I thought that was fake when it was a frozen frame but as soon as you see it get down you can tell its defo real. Poor bear getting roasted by moist lol

Fun fact Sun bears are highly aggressive as they continously fight tigers. Typically the most severe bear attacks is because of the sun bear. They have the same response as Buffalo since they are hunted and will just keep going until they're sure you're down

Since I'm here, here are some quick facts for you: They like to eat honey and insects, probably fruit as well, it's been years since I last read about them and can't really remember if they're frugivorous and are typically found in trees in India, probably other countries too. I believe their nickname is the Honey Bear because of this.

The next smallest bear is the Spectacled Bear, found in South America. Guys on the internet like to get upset when they race-change a character, how about when you species change one? Because it is the only species to live in South America today and they DO come the jungles of darkest Peru. Instead, they gave the role of Paddington to a brown bear. How messed up is that? They don't even come from there! They did the same with my man Baloo! I love the 2016 live-action The Jungle Book movie but they changed him from sloth bear to brown bear! Forced bearversity!

Looking at the Hagfish and seeing how it's perfect in it's environment to such a degree that it doesn't need to evolve, automatically reminds me of bloodborne when you defeat the moon presence. You transcend human form and then transforms in a sluggish creature very similar to the Hagfish.

I live in that city and have been to that zoo and seen the bears. They look weird standing up but it is just a bear, no tricks! It's just waiting for the crowds to feed it, no one really stops that happening there.

As soon as I saw the sun bear I knew it was a fire video. Those things could be either humans in costumes or a really messed up bear and both of those explanations make the same amount of sense when you look at these creatures.
I like the idea that somebody at the zoo failed to keep the bear alive, so to avoid suspicion they quit and dressed up as the bear for a while afterwards.
No wonder people think the bear is fake, some time ago they put a very fluffy dog in a cage and called it a lion…

One reason they might put a person in a costume is money. It probably costs a lot to take care of the bear, feed it, and employ people to keep the cage clean and functional. You put a man in a bear suit in there and you are saving a lot of money in the long run.
If the bear is the size of a large dog, I highly doubt that feeding it is particularly expensive. Practically every other zoo on Earth manages to feed larger animals than that, so the idea that they would go through the hassle of creating a fake bear when they can just get a real one like everyone else is just absurd.

Don't underestimate these guys, they will run fades with tigers. They are actually incredibly strong for their size and unlike other bears have to defend themselves from predators regularly. They are absolute tanks.
They basically subscribe to Chihuahua ideology where the smaller you are the more aggressive and bitchy you have to be to have people leave you alone for once
I don’t know about sun bears, but sloth bears have that reputation. Sun bears just are too small to hold up against a tiger that is on average several times it’s size

@@johnathonmeadows72 it's not like they killed the tiger. Remember tigers are primarily ambush predators. If you put up a big enough fight they'll usually back down. The only cases I've ever found of sun bears fighting off tigers is usually a mom protecting her cubs
