@@pietuuh2065 At the end of Season 2 the mother of her love interest puts Superman and Supergirl against each other. The substance she gives Superman makes him think he is fighting General Zod so he is fighting full strength. But Supergirl beats him.
Kara trained through the years with her foster parents, which we learned helped Kal-El with his powers so she would have known how to use her powers by than, she just decided there was no need for another superpowered hero so she didn't follow her cousin. As for not knowing the Supergirl Comics, I wouldn't worry the show is doing their own thing, her Aunt wasn't around in the comics for example. However if you want to know more about her origins Superman/Batman: Supergirl and the new 52 Supergirl Vol. 1 are good stories to read.
This show is actually starting to grow on me, if they take away the cheesiness and focus more on the villains and how super girl is different to superman it might actually be as good as the flash! Also i hope Dr Henshaw is the Cyborg superman that would be awesome!
Hank Henshaw, the head of that department, was exposed to a solar flare in a Nasa Mission on the space and gained superpowers, I don't know what he can do and I don't know if they are gonna follow his steps in the comics, but it's better I don't say anything else because it can spoil things about the show. But I might say that we must have some good surprises ahead.

+Blind Wave smallville's super girl has already been cast as laura vandervoort and i think that the head of the DEO is martian manhunter...also the explained very well in the first episode why no one expects to have a superhero around them, also that kat grant couldn't even pick out kara in a line up

This episode was ok,but not wow or something,a bit better than the pilot,I think I like your reaction more that an episode itself, Aaron was funny :P Director of DEO,Hank Henshaw,if I remember correctly,in the comics,he is Cyborg Superman and he is a villain I believe,he blames Superman for death of his family,in the show I think he will be Martian Manhunter,at least that's my theory and I think that would be cool,like Aaron I don't really feel connected with any of the characters much,unlike Flash where I just love all of them(especially Cisco),hmm I guess Winn is ok,Jimmy Olsen is too handsome to be Jimmy Olsen,Kara's human sister is cool,Cat Grant is not so bad,I hope next episodes get better,good job on the reaction Blind Wave crew :)
It's funny in the original Superman movie Jimmy Olsen is a scrawny white guy in Supergirl it's a buff black man. Not that I'm complaining. Supergirl is my favorite CW show.

Kara was already in Smallville while he was learning, I like the idea but that would create inconsistencies to the timelines, also Smallville Kara was hotter.
in the comics,supergirl is actually stronger than superman,so it would make sense in the tv show if her heat vision was blue to show its more powerful

To explain the Pictures James follows her and takes pictures. As for the heat Vision its cause She is more powerful than Clark.
