    hey, great video!
I have been offered to take over my local mma gym(i already own 10% and would be given the other 90% for small cost) as the head coach wants to retire however im not 100% sure if it is viable to operate an MMA gym as well as keep my fulltime job. Currently we have lost all of our coaches and 80% of students due to covid and the gym having to be closed for around a year.
do you have any advice on how to take the existing gym ( no instructors + small amount of frozen memberships) and get it back to fully operational and how to go about choosing the right instructors to start, should i focus on one area eg striking and add more over time ? .
    any advice is appreciated thanks

Part time efforts get you part time results. I’ve learned that the hard way. To keep your overhead low, I’d suggest running a program that you can personally teach. Especially if you have little to no numbers to start. Everyone’s itching to get back on the mats, you just need to have a professional attitude towards sanitization, presentation and preparedness when it comes to offering martial arts classes. You may be a great martial artist and perhaps an even better instructor. But people googling your business or walking in will have no idea and judge your worth in the first 10 seconds of looking around your gym.
Hope that helps! All the best!

What billing company and point of sale are you using? We have three schools and need some thoughts on the different systems out there

Great video ! Hey question for you, before opening your gym did you write up a business plan ? I’m about to rent a place off of my boxing coach and wondering if writing up a plan is a must do thing before opening your doors.
I know other businesses / person do write up a plan, but is this needed when teaching Martial Arts ?

I reccomend it for running ANY business before & during your startup! Always plan & evaluate on that planning. Write it down, keep it organized, & that goes for your banking as well

@@wtfdanimal Awesome thank you very much. Yea just started up a couple weeks back now, I have a couple students under me and slowly growing.
If it wasn’t for Covid I think we would have more people in there. But in time, people will come

What does your waiver look like for striking and grappling? Also what kind of insurance do you have to carry for both disciplines? Respectfully. Thank you.

I recommend having a lawyer draft up your hold harmless agreement. Be sure to add sexual harassment to your insurance policy, especially with grappling.

Thank you! - Sony DSC-HX80. To be honest, the iphone 8 quality is way better lol. But my phone goes off a lot and I don't want it disrupting me filming.

    Hey Mark,
Great video and business advice from someone that has been there and still is. I follow you and would love it if you would follow and support another fellow martial arts and self-defense instructor. You can find my channel by searching for Asa Kiniun an Afrikan martial art and Tacosa Serrada Escrima. Keep up the excellent work. And congrats on offering and learning BJJ.

Have you ever tried talking naturally like you are talking face to face to a person who walked into your gym? Cause you tend to emphasis almost every other word hard doing up and down hard intonations which make the flow of your words unnatural and awkward. It slows up the videos. Like you are unsure or annoyed when you talk like exhausted to tell us things.
Example: "What is going on GUYS. It's BEEN a MINUTE...AGAIN...I apologize for the...dis-RUPTION of all the VLOGS...AND even the techniques videos but this CHANNEL...hassss...MUCHneeded some ATTENTION imma bout to give to you guyysss....."
