I have a local gym in Ghana, West Africa and i love it. I started small and now is the best local gym in my area. The location, the environment and equipment favors me alot.
My favorite thing about my gym. Is that we have 3 separate buildings. One for the general public, one for classes, and one for powerlifting and strongman (to keep the pedestrians from the animals) also a tight niche group
Hi Joe my favourite things about my gym are -24 hrs opening Monday - Friday -healthy food and protein shakes available at the end of your workout -free parking -the owner is always nice and welcoming to all
When I go to my gym I walk past 3 other gyms (one is literally 100ft from my front door); I do this because I obviously love the gym that I workout in, but also because of two important things that they do. The first thing is that they notice me, every time I walk through the door they are chatty and says stuff like "oh you're here a lot this week" or "aren't you getting stronger" I really love that! The second thing is that they have a suggestion box that they ACTUALLY use! These things I really love about my gym!!
Being personable and caring to members goes so far! I would say that comes before a lot of other things. If you can make people feel special you are on the right track!
Thank you man. It’s about the vibe and the people at the gym for me. Even tho I can’t hear anyone bc my headphones are in, I definitely enjoy seeing someone hit a new PR or going until failure and getting the last one up.
Hi, me and my friends really want to open a gym when we get older. We are 15 currently. Thank you for your informing us of what mistakes we need to avoid in the process.
I’m 22 and I’m looking in to opening a gym. What are the steps I should be taking in terms of money? And how much money should I have saved up before opening a gym or consulting private lenders?
My ideaal gym is a pretty chill place, some music - not too loud, enough equipment and not everything occupied so I can do my schedule relaxed. And I love the concept of a 24/7 gym. Sometimes its great to just hit the weights at midnight or after.
The owners at my gym are incredibly passionate about serving the community, always adding stuff to cater to all guests. The way they run the gym has inspired me deeply to try my best to start my own thing! Thankyou for providing videos to help me on my journey they are helpful 🤘🏼💪🏼
my fav things at my gym are the people, being surrounded by people who are like me. We recognize each others hard work :D if that makes sense. I really want to open up a gym later in life, and I'm starting to do research now :) I'm not a coach, nor have I been training all my life, just the past 4 years actually, I defeated my own obesity problem and truly grew to love exercising, met a lot of amazing people at the gym, I get emotional thinking about it all man.. XD So as I have had help, I wish to help someone one day in a similar way :) Thanks for the video :D
Very great information I’m into the boxing and powerlifting. As my setup in my basement. I don’t go to gym no more I have boxers coming by I train when I can . I think there’s a shortage of gyms with a deadlift platform, and let’s play some great music get pumped
You know, this video also kind of helps people choose a gym. If the gym you're considering is in a retail space maybe it means that you wont be able to drop weights, it may be a gym that wont let you do explosive movements like clean & jerks, throwing medicine balls against the wall, and may not fit your goals. Also the bit about opening a gym with a niche is also good advice for gym choosers, we should all consider the kind of gym we want to go to. What kind of equipment do they have, what are their policies, what are their classes, what are they good at training? Great video.
The business content is great and it gets my head on the right track. For the time being, I'm a rising part in a health and wellness store. We supply your herbs and supplements while I handle the fitness and weight lifter's supplements. Some day I'd like to pair the store with a gym of our own or even our own Anytime Fitness to get things going. But videos like this help me to get my head thinking in a specific direction so when the day finally comes, I know exactly what sort of equipment and floor space I want to provide our clients before sending them next door. Thanks, man.
Favorite thing about my gym is location, everyone is comfortable doing their own thing, and the outdoor space for all the big compound (both Oly and PL) movements is almost always open and comfortable, plus being in the Marines having everyone on a equal plane outside of uniform is always a nice change of pace
Thank you for the advice because I’d definitely make the mistake of having my floors coming apart because of heavy weights hitting the ground 😭 didn’t even cross my mind.
Can you do a video on females running a gym. I do kickboxing and Mhauy Thai and my cousin runs the club on his own and does really well. So would you do a video on what people think about female trainers because I want to teach martial arts and do PT (don't know what sector yet maybe weight loss or strength and conditioning). It would really help me out. Thanks
Being open 24/7 was a big thing for me.. I work till 3am and liked going to the gym after work to clear my mind... Plus there isn't much ppl that go that late so I get to have the place to myself..
Freedom is my No1. Having a garage gym lets me train without having to argue over the equipment and noone is judging me based on me mixing bodybuilding and strongman (-woman)
No idiots except for the owner ....lol Seriously I prefer working out at home because all the gyms by me are full of idiots posing and making a scene or walking / strutting around like a bad arse
I appreciate your videos I just watched 4 of them we are similar. Your tubers and also been at it 4 4 or 5 years I am eager to open a place to help people lose weight thank you again for all the great work
I am both an Olympic weightlifter and a powerlifter. I want to be able to train for both sports in the same gym. I like my gym because it has a separate room for Oly lifting and crossfit. I may be one of the few people who would disagree with you about only promoting your one niche. It's taken me many years to find a gym that caters to all lifting sports.
What I love about the gym I go to is the atmosphere and the vibe in there. Just love going to Crunch Fitness. Ive been thinking of opening a gym I. The future because I love fitness and would be an honor if I could help people accomplish their goals.
Do you have any tips on locations? out of town? close to town, city center? as far away from all the other gyms as possible? close to the niche? close to public transport?

60 members? How much do you charge your members? That unit would cost in the UK about £4k per month plus rates. Just curious as I am thinking bout opening up a gym. Your gym is very unique and original, niche even, so I imagine you can charge a decent fee but just trying to figure out how to run a gym without needing hundreds of members. I run a leisure club/gym now but not my own.

The 5 am regulars all know the key lockbox code. So if the gym is "open" on a holiday from 9 am to 4 pm, it doesn't matter I can still go in at 5 am and do my work.
thank you for sharing your experience. question before opening my first gym would it be wise to first build a clientele base in person, instead of initially relying solely on marketing to get the gym off the ground running? I would think I would need to build a clientele base enough to cover a big portion of the monthly lease.... What do you recommend?
5000 sq/ft. I'm 1/12 from having the Den. I love my gym. The kitchen and bathroom are within walking distance. Only metal is on the stereo. And the gear is good quality. I love my new Rogue rack and Rogue bars. Also. How are the Titan iron plates holding up? Do they fit the bars properly? Think those will end up being what I get for iron plates.
I don't have to shower before going; no waiting for equipment; my choice of music. and I don't have to leave the house to get there! Great video by the way!
Hey bro because of you I also want to open a gym, the idea of being your own boss and doing what you love made me conclude to open a gym in the future. For the name I was thinking “Butterfit” and the slogan “burning the butter right off.” It’s going to be a strength and fat loss gym. What do you think of the name?
Another thing is it could be what they don’t do as much as what they do. For example, like not being mean. Could bring back clientele. (Bad word of mouth)
