I hope the jury is paying attention. Being denied access to evidence, having technological evidence he was in the house, and evidence that subsequently and coincidentally becomes unavailable are HUGE RED flags. I hope she is acquitted and he gets justice.
If there was a case designed to demonstrate reasonable doubt, it would be this one. I don't think anyone can be convicted in this case. Too bad for the victim.
Definitely in need of a new judge for that acquittal. Hopefully her innocence can be proven without having to possibly spend years in prison waiting for a proper appeal
Wouldn't it be funny if the actual plot was by all four of them to murder the victim, and then blame each other in a plausible way. When actually, it is all 4 who are guilty and all 4 will walk.
It seems to happen a awful lot in the US. The amount of people being represented by the innocent project is staggering you have DA's refusing to have newly found DNA tested too. If they were that sure of the conviction surely they'd have all evidence tested to prove themselves correct.....hmmm 😒
Tore it up 4 mo after previous remodel.. then sold the 2 generation home for 50K under asking.. removed the dog.... lost their phones... butt dialed a modern password protected phone AND returned calls.
@@pAusten I think Karen Read was a mistrial and they kinda threw away a non guilty verdict to make sure they got evidence that will help convict and find all of the corrupt individuals. The whole time they threw away an easy and direct win to try and get more evidence and get more people involved who may be corrupt. The FBI knows she’s innocent and the best experts in the world said it’s physically impossible she hit him. But she isn’t doing it just for herself, they gave up and are giving up their easy win to set up the real perpetrator and corrupt people helping participate. That’s what I believe, because neither of them are that stupid. The FBI hasn’t stepped in as they want to let it play out and see who continues to be corrupt. It sucks for Karen Read but I think she chose this path with her lawyer. The DA even knows he’s fucked but he has to pretend to be stupid and to be fanatic about it so he doesn’t get charged for intentionally being corrupt and bias. So he’s purposefully appearing to be fanatical still, as that will be his only decent argument for what is being revealed and found by the FBI. It’s all now a set up, like a sting operation. They’re letting them continue to provide evidence and commit more crimes, even say for the judge. They want to see who else is corrupt and collect all evidence they can before playing a hand. There is no need for defense against Karen read, it was proven to be physically impossible for her to hit John in any way that would have killed him neverthekess caused the injuries and other evidence that was there. But they are using this as a chance to lead the corrupt people on. They would have stepped in way earlier otherwise as they have plenty to step in and declare her as innocent. Biden and any president would pardon her for anything she is charged with and their lack of involvement shows that they’re playing the long game. Karen Read won’t be convicted or will be pardoned if she is charged. They’re just playing the long game to get them good and infiltrate everyone to send them to jail for life. Trust me, if they weren’t going to convict them and already have enough evidence to charge them, they would have talked. They know they have stuff and know they can get more. Karen is either in on it or she knows she is aiding catching the real criminals. The defense is not that stupid, they gave up an easy win to help find the real killers or at least the corruption.
They finally are because of the public outcry. Also, a key eyewitness i.e. a plow driver, who went by that house three times on that night because it was a blizzard but with somehow not interviewed by any investigators to date.
Mike, I wanted to thank you and let you know that after 21 years of active heroin addiction on Oct 9th , 2017. I started my recovery and also found your channel the same day! I watched your videos on repeat to keep my mind distracted constantly for the following 6 months. I have not missed a posted video or podcast from you to this day. It was one of the few things I actually looked forward to as I healed and worked my program. I love true crime but you make it a different experience and I am so happy to see how much you’ve grown on your platforms! You deserve every ounce of success you have and will have! I’m not a mushy emotional person, I’m more of a sarcastic dark humored person but I’m about to hit my 6 year anniversary and wanted to tearfully………….Thank you for helping me save my own life! Much love,Sir. Ps I wish you had done more captain videos. 😂 ❤🎉😂❤
Proud of you too though I haven't been there, I know it's damn near impossible to give up a heroin addiction and you made it to the other side, you are a trooper and a big hearty congratulations on your sobriety! 😍💜💜💜
way to go melissa! congratulations! i don’t even smoke cigarettes, but i’ve been watching videos of addicts in kensington getting abscesses & amputations & still using. they say they don’t want to go through withdrawals. i’d take that over oozing open wounds & loss of limbs any day. happy for you!
The "how long to die in the cold" search is WAY more incriminating than a broken tail light. And I think his Apple watch info that he climbed the stairs PROVES he was in the house.
Those scratches on his arm that look like maybe dog claw marks....I just cannot imagine someone would have those type of marks from a car hitting & killing them. And no, those marks are not from "road burn." To me, those marks on his arm are very telling that he did not die from a car hitting him.
Not necessarily, cars are pretty tough and humans very fragile, I’ve hit deers and totaled my car or I’ve hit them and got just a scratch on my car and the deer snapped it’s neck, and they’re way tougher than humans so it’s hard to say
There's no way she got that thing going fast enough in reverse, in that short of a distance to kill him. There's video of the taillight being broken anyways. The police fumbled this case from jump.
The scratch marks on the victim's arms, and the owner of the dog (a fellow officer) getting rid of his dog shortly after the murder, (& refusing to name the new owner) is seriously suspect!!
So not only was it his dog it was a police dog? One of the dogs that’s trained to attack somebody who’s fighting with their partner? Is someone who’s been bitten by a dog? That’s exactly what my arm look like.
This is the problem with doing true crime videos before anything is settled. Was the victim wearing a short sleave shirt in the winter while it's snowing? If not, what do the puncture holes in the clothing point to? What about his pants or tire tracks? It's all conjecture and not very satisfying.
that notion that a person fighting hard and spending all their money to be free, being a sign of a guilty contience is crazy. I'd rather lose my house, car and job and be homeless than be in prison wtf.
1 Policeman who served in the army in a luxury house has no cctv. 2. Of all the years to rehome your family dog, 7 or 8 years old would be the last age you would expect it to happen. 3. Victims phone shows he went up three floors, was he in the bedroom with the other cops wife? and did this cause the fight that ended his life? 4. Did he fall unconscious after the fight and after leaving the house, die of hypothermia? 5. The taillight broke when she was reversing from home and fell off near where she last saw her husband. Was it picked off by someone when the car was inspected. I'm of the firm belief, she didn't do it.
I was thinking the same thing! I’m hoping maybe that’s still possible 🤷🏻♀️ or let her free & have an outside organization (FBI, other) reinvestigate ALL THE EVIDENCE in this case! Way too much bias on the part of the judge, prosecution & possibly “tainted” witness statements/witnesses. AND there definitely could’ve been money exchanged too within LE, DA, prosecutors, judge, witnesses, etc. I’m totally spiraling on this case now 😂 all the theories are flooding thru 🧠😆
@@lazerbehm8681 I know right, look at that Trumpo the clown guy who gets charged with multiple felonies, but still gets to run for any sort of office at all and, thinks he should be treated like he's special and still gets to wander the streets, even though if it were a member of the military they would be sitting in jail until the trials.
My sister lived in Canton and went to Bentley with this woman. She is DEFINITELY being framed. The BPD has a history of this kind of thing. Thank you so much for doing this video 💚
Comments in this nature left on true crime videos are nauseating. Nobody cares. Your sister's education is irrelevant to the case. This isn't a Kevin-Bacon-nine-degrees situation. People like OP will type anything to feel involved with cases.
Nah, she did it. 2 things I never believe....accusations of a "frame job" and "I blacked out and don't remember". Both signs of a desperate guilty defendant.
Massachusetts for you. Even the cops in MA are far left liberals that don't mind covering up crimes and protecting their own at all cost. During the BLM riots, Boston PD was seen laughing and unloading pallets of bricks on the streets for rioters to throw. Just think about that, the state ranked 3rd in progressive liberals had police setting up pallets of bricks for rioters to throw. You can't make this shit up. I'm from the neighboring state, 50 miles from MA.
I've had road rash from car and motorcycle accidents, and I've had lacerations from being attacked by my neighbor's German shepherd. *Those are bite marks on the victim's arm.* The several times I've had road rash it always was in large patches, and scabby. The bite marks I had were teeth and puncture marks raked across the skin of my arm just like in the photograph. Exactly like that. Incidentally that's right where a dog tends to bite. Mine were on the right shoulder and upper right arm.
Yup, I was bitten by a dog as a kid. As soon as the photo was shown I knew I was looking at bite punctures. Also seen "road rash" on my brother when he came off his bike, totally different injuries.
Plus during training, the bite sleeve is worn on the arm (and legs sometimes), and they encourage the dog to go for the arms. May the orphans and Karen get justice..
Correct me if I’m wrong but it was my understanding that the state was saying the lacerations on his arm were caused by blunt force, as in the car hit him and caused the skin to split right open, not from road rash. Personally, I think that explanation sounds even more absurd, but Im not a professional. I just think it’s important to pin down exactly what they are alleging to have happened.
@@grumpynomad3551what, if anything, has given you the impression the judge is on the defendants side? I’ve heard from many of those who’ve been following the case and watching/attending the court hearings say the opposite
Mike!! I am a Boston resident and have been watching your channel for years now but i just want to praise you for covering this case, corruption is so common in the commonwealth and it needs to be exposed, you're the man!!!
Never DA corruption, never Judicial corruption? The gutter trash in office & their equally disgusting appointees are always left to be as corrupt as they want & low people always getting blamed 🤦🏼♀️ its the 'woke' way👍🏻
@seeglines the tail light was broken when she hit another car, and if im not mistaken, was found on the side of the car opposite to the victim's body. also, the fact that the defense couldnt get potentially critical video evidence is VERY suspiscious
Everything points to her innocence and it's heartbreaking and infuriating to see how many people are willing to ruin this woman's life to cover up for someone else's crime. How can they live with themselves is beyond comprehension.
It only makes me wonder, what _else_ might be they covering up? **tin foil hat on** Maybe he uncovered some serious corruption those other cops were engaging in?
@@CantTellYou As tin foil as that sounds, it's the most likely. I have a few friends who are ex-cops who quit because of the corruption they encountered in law enforcement. They said the main reason normally honest guys agree to ignore dangerously corrupt cops is because "These cops already commit crimes and they have guns and access to guns taken from criminals." and people are afraid of getting killed by them. So cops killing cops is not unknown.
@@CantTellYouwhatever he saw/uncovered is the reason they killed him I’m sure. It may have been something small but that bryan guy looks like exactly the tule to go to any length possible to keep his reputation intact.
I would absolutely believe that police would band together to cover up if something did happen at the officers house. There are too many consequences that point to the owners of the house being involved. The phone evidence, rehoming the dog, selling the house for 50k below value, etc… My bets are that she is being set up.
I believe they would band together also. 'Hey now guys, we've lost one brother let's not make it two'. I used to work for a policeman as live-in nanny. I witnessed a fair amount of cop buddy-buddy behavior. The man I worked for showed a completely different face when his cop buds were around.
The missing surveillance footage from the library… according to other comments, it’s a two-minute segment missing, from the exact time Karen would’ve been driving by.
I’m guessing since the apple fitness thing tends to record a lot of movement, I’m guessing that he definitely was in the house. Perhaps they were swingers and not wanting a tabloid news event or anything ruining the image, they covered this up. The deleted phone calls and the screen shot contact list thing is all pretty odd. But with the video footage of Karen going to search for him, the weather seemed snowy, how would that be seen with the weather like that? The dog mauling thing, and even selling the house just smells wrong. Maybe they wanted to have a fight to see who’s tougher, or they were simply training or testing him to check how good he was in a fight and some freak accident happened. A bad sleeper hold or something. 😢 I’m guessing that perhaps some odd sort of things happened here, infidelity or practice sparing that resulted in this accident that to preserve the forces image, and to keep the family safe they threw karen under the bus. Those poor kids now
The broken taillight magically shows up in the road. The google search. The disappearing dog. The quick house sale. What a sham. If I was a citizen up there I’d be so pissed at the cops & prosecutors. And 999 out of 1000 times I’m on the prosecutor’s side. But not these crooks.
Karen looks PISSED. If I were in her position I’d probably be losing it and falling apart, but she looks absolutely determined to fight this to the end. Hell yeah
Being pissed beyond imagination is typically the reaction of people who are unfairly accused of something like this. When you know you didn't do it you get really angry at the injustice you're facing.
Definitely looks like a frame job to me. I doubt they expected her to fight so hard. I hope with more public exposure she’s able to get the involvement of people that can help her get justice for herself and her husband.
Jeez! I normally take the "I'm being framed" claims with a healthy pinch of salt, but this is unbelievable! If prosecutors refuse to turn over evidence isn't that a brady violation?? I'm going to keep track of this story, and hope that the full truth comes out
@@gamingbypix i keep hearing about this rn because of the trial so i decided to look up if there was a that chapter video so i could get up to date with what's going on lol
On the evidence given here I'd find it impossible to convict Karen beyond reasonable doubt. The type of injuries sustained, the possible dog bites.... Would be infinitely preferable to have this reviewed by a team from outside the area! Great video Mike, very interesting 🙂
I watch true crime stories near constantly and this one broke my heart. I have been wrong before, but I don’t think there is any way this woman killed her boyfriend. The lack of transparency on the part of the prosecution can only be interpreted as them having something to hide. I pray true justice will prevail. Thanks for the story, Mike. You’re one of my favorites.
I've had too many broken tail lights,, and wing mirrors over the years, that's not really evidence of causing a death. Shite happens but even in the UK they stick with their own 😢
I’m from Boston and your video added a fair look at this ridiculous case. My opinion is that this case is riddled with cover ups, layer over layer, not covered in the Boston Globe, and rooted in a nasty grudge between former Rachael Rollins and the District Attorney Morrisey, Norfolk county. Karen Read would be in jail now if she didn’t have enough money to hire a lawyer. Hands down. Thank God for TH-cam.
It’s mind boggling that they are even prosecuting her. So much reasonable doubt and unless they come out with any more evidence I would say she is innocent.
They showed all they had to get the charge upgraded from manslaughter to murder. The "she did it just trust us" defense is like nothing I've ever seen before. And now the public freaking out. If they had anything they'd show it to shit us up. Biggest corruption case of the century
@@mikepalmer1971 Not stupid, watched the case she is the same as Jodie Arias that psychopath, don’t think I am wrong but she will probably get away with it because people are pathetic and will demand ridiculous proof.
I have not finished the video yet but I don’t see many people mentioning the home owners brother- this is supposed to be the main reason this happened. John and the home owners brother had gotten into a physical altercation a week or so beforehand and this brother showed up at the house and attacked him supposedly. I live in Boston and I am horrified over this… Karen Read is innocent!! Also to add about the library’s CCTV… at that same court hearing the defense said that library would have a CLEAR image of Karen’s car and would show if it was broken when she drove home from the house. There are 2 minutes MISSING on that footage and it’s the exact time that Karen would have driven by. HOW IS THIS EVEN GOING TO TRIAL?!
That video of Chris Albert harassing a fellow canton resident (don’t know her name) in the parking lot of the waterfall bar showed clearly what a hot head he is. Where’d you hear about him and John getting into a physical altercation the week before? I heard about John calling Chris’ son Colin Albert in for reportedly dealing drugs in his neighborhood. I’m sure that set things off
@@RicoSoprano_ because her thinking process isn't that of a sober person looking at factual information. she's panicking about her partner not coming home, and then she discovers his dead body. She might have been drunk-probably was. When people spiral they go down weird mental pathways. If you left someone somewhere and they died your brain might wonder if it's your fault, or if you did something (especially if she was driving drunk; she already knows she's doing something dangerous that could hurt someone). It happens all the time, even when you *know* you had nothing to do with it. People blame themselves for others' heart attacks and plane crashes in other countries. People are irrational about death, especially if she as drunk, which I fully believe she was.
Turtle boy is a sociopath. He might have a point about this case but for him to go around and intimidate witnesses and the family of the deceased is despicable. Ohh and where is turtle boy at now? Ohh yeah in jail for witness tampering cuz he’s a psycho.
While I can totally see the BPD doing an elaborate cover up, the ONLY thing that makes me question it, is that Turtleboy says that’s what happened. He is the last person I’d believe.
@@Nurse0128sometimes people only believe in conspiracy theories, they go along with what sells. But sometimes the thing that sells happens to also be the truth.
It's really easy to blame yourself when someone dies unexpectedly. You start to think things like, "If I was there, they'd still be alive," "If I had answered the phone, they'd still be alive," "If we hadn't gotten into that fight last week, they'd still be alive," etc., etc. I definitely believe she was freaking out because she didn't know what happened so she began to blame herself, saying she hit him and she killed him. Because she had no answers, either..
And you know those people immediately started telling her that she must have hit him with her car. They were putting those thoughts in her head before the investigators got to the scene.
Weird that the cast of characters are also involved in the Birchmore girl who supposedly killed herself by hanging herself from a doorknob. She lived in this town, and the cop that knocked her up was the last person seen leaving her apartment
The police officers are a “brotherhood”, but if you betray or are perceived as betraying the brotherhood then you’re going to have a target on your back. The defense makes a very compelling case for Karen Read. I’m reminded of Lawrencia “Bambi” Bembenek here in Wisconsin. The whole police investigation for Karen Read screams conflict of interest.
Apparently John had called into the Canton PD saying that there was a teenager in his neighborhood that’s selling drugs and that teenager just so happened to be in the house that night cuz the homeowner is his uncle and the cousins were there hanging out with friends. So John ratting out a kid with a family full of cops probably wouldn’t work out so well for him.😣
Dude it seems more open and shut case in the opposite direction . Even the fact she was saying “ I hit him” proves she was so flabbergasted by the situation she couldn’t even imagine someone hurt him . And they knew it would go that way . The house being sold , the dog being re homed , the fact that other cops on a TV show and shit . The Google search , the step count . Bruh , that woman shoulda never been in jail let alone a 50 k bond . This is terrifying
The fact that the defense has not been able to see any of the video evidence indicates to me that the cover up is the more likely situation. If Karen is guilty as they say, the video evidence would only help their case.
I was hit in exactly the same way last year ! A car reversing without looking and on a dry road, not one covered with snow. I was 76 at the time and have arthritis. I got up shaken, with slightly grazed hands and knees, and walked home. (didn't report him, he was SO sorry) No way could a burley bloke have been killed or sustained those facial injuries. Whatever, seems to me that any potential conviction is not without reasonable doubt.
I was hit by a slowly backing up car as well. It slowly backed over me. I was under it. Obviously I didn't die, but I could have, because my head was being mashed against the pavement by what I was told later was the oil pan? And one arm actually was under a tire.
She's clearly innocent!! Those are obvious dog bites and claw marks, and he re-homed him immediately after!! The fact that his eyes were swollen and nose bleeding and Brian was a boxer.., and then sold his house immediately!!! Very funky!! Praying officer O'Keefe and Karen get true justice!! 🙏🏼
Dogs bite. Those are stratches. Dogs don't claw in that concentration like that. I believe the defence posted the online comments about the judge having a relationship to the case. In order to generate doubt. And it's working. Put the pick forks down.
Dogs scratch when they jump to bite bud…. Could’ve been tryna get his neck and scratched his arm up. Dogs also jump when humans are fighting they don’t really bite, they get in the way more often.
@@sharingiscaring1952 Dogs scratch even when they don't bite. Especially if their nails haven't been clipped in a while. I've known multiple dogs to get excited and jump on me, their claws making scratch marks on my arms as they went down only to attempt to jump again making more marks. And that's all innocent fun. I'm sure in an attack it would be worse.
Based on the information provided in this video, there's definitely something fishy going on and the people in that house that night need to be investigated as well as anyone else involved in covering this up.
IF they were attacked in thier own house, its self defense. Im assuming the girl slept with his cop buddy and thats what caused to confrontation. I think thats very, very, very likely to be true. The bar footage converys that body language, of him being mad, and her comforting him. She cant really admit to sleeping with the guy, cus that makes her looks guilty, and neither can he.
@@Scorch428I'd lean more towards plain and simple corruption. Maybe he found out and wasn't down to join their gang, maybe he got greedy. Or maybe there was no and they just disagreed about something, it got heated, they go into it and the dog got defensive and attacked trying to protect the owner, by then it's hard to claim self defence when the guys been unconscious for half a dog attack and a dozen punches. So they tossed him outside in a panic. Maybe halfway through they thought of a hit and run, then Karen comes along all distraught and is an easy target. Add the corruption back in and it's easy to see how you'd end up with a whole station going along with it.
You've got to ask yourself, given the evidence, that if Brian Albert wasn't a cop, would Karen have even been a suspect? This case should be investigated and tried by an outside, independant system. Is there such a thing where police officers are involved? If not, there should be! I hope that Karen gets justice and EVERYONE involved in the coverup gets prosecuted.
100% a cover up! Just look at the gilgo beach murders and all of the police cover ups in that case. It goes deep. Thankfully the new dept and LE are now doing their due diligence but this was a home full of cops and their families. They’re covering for each other and I hope the FBI is looking into it and they get to the bottom of it. This is an insane case and imagine if she didn’t have the money to actually defend herself?!
IMO, which is about as “armchair detective” as it gets, this sounds like a fairly open-and-shut case. Especially when considering EVERYTHING; dog being rehomed, Apple Watch information, house being undersold, cellphone records, including google searches and so much more.
*the night at the guy's house was planned, right? how many times did that particular group socialize together, publicly or in private. was he lured to the home in order for someone to kill him.*

I think the search for "how long to die in the snow" seals it for me. That and the shady behavior by the friend and his wife. I think they're taking advantage of the wife's honest worry that she did somthing. I live near here and it's all anyone talked about for like a year

This is a big story on Boston's South Shore. Mike O did a good job summarizing the salient points, but missed some big ones. First, the broken tail light was found hours after the incident after something like a foot of snow had fallen. That makes no sense since the Canton PD had already searched the property. Second, the victims shoe was also discovered hours after the incident. Third, O'Keefe had a big gash on the back of his head and two black eyes. How did that happen if she only hit one side of him? The motive? The homeowner's nephew lived either next to or a house down from O'Keefe. The kid a/k/a "bang bang" appears to be a punk and did not get along with O'Keefe. That punk was in the house when O'Keefe walked in. The speculation is the kid sucker punched O'Keefe, O'Keefe hit him back and the homeowner and the dog pounced on Okeefe. The problem with the whole theory, however, is that there were 12 other people in the house. None of them appeared to have known of the fight, but none of them saw a 6'2"" 215 lb guy lying in the snow bank either. For more information about this interesting case, search "Canton Coverup, Turtleboy." Fair warning: you will become addicted.
This comment needs to be pinned at the top or Mike needs to update this video with your information you posted. My only question is this. Why are they against Karen? What did she do to them that makes them want to see her behind bars? What are they covering gulp?
This defence lawyer is very passionate in his belief that she's innocent. He's not trying to get a plea deal he's adamant in saying she's innocent. That says something.
Honestly it doesn't mean much.... We've seen in these cases, lawyers defending awful, murderous people. And they are passionate in their convictions, as well. That's their job. But I do understand what you mean. I cannot say for sure that Karen is guilty.
@@nilesredfern7989if the defense knew they were defending a guilty person they wouldn't be gunning for the library cctv to be released, they would rather that reasonable doubt to remain in the minds of the people they want that footage released because they're convinced it will prove their client's innocence
It's because good defense attorneys absolutely HATE seeing the system abused and corrupted like this, and they cannot stand to see innocent civilians being persecuted by the very people who are supposed to protect them. The first commenter in this thread has put too much stock into the stereotype about defense attorneys; while I'm sure it's true that there are a few slick ones out there who are only interested in money and will still enjoy a good night's sleep after getting a murderer off, that's definitely the vast, vast minority. By and large they tend to be an honest bunch, and they are absolutely vital to the protection of civilians - innocent and guilty alike - from prosecutorial overreach. It's a massive problem in the US these days that prosecutors have most of the power, even more than judges, because of systemic over-charging with the goal of forcing plea deals, and far too many people in the prosecutor's office are only concerned with keeping their stats up and riding those numbers on to a political career, nevermind how many of their own citizens' heads they step on along the way. Defense attorneys are the only way to balance out this morally polluted system that we've created, because the sad truth is that without the freedom for them to do what they do, we would start seeing sentences that harken back to the 80's "War on Drugs" for any and every crime committed, no matter how petty, with every single defendent being "made an example." Being arrested for any crime whatsoever would practically guarantee a conviction and a criminal record because you'd have no good option other than to plead out, even if you're innocent; and our jails and prisons would overflow more than they already are (it's almost like we have one of the highest incarceration rates in the developed world, despite so many of our citizens thinking we're so great 🤔) as well as descend into even greater cesspits of human rights violations. Don't get me wrong, I grew up in a conservative family and was exposed to all of the lawyer jokes and black and white concepts of morality as a kid, and as a result I naively used to think that they were all crooks, just like the first user and so many other people; but just like everything else in life, the truth is never that simple. It was when I went through the system myself that I finally saw how utterly broken it is; and it was when I was downright railroaded and treated like I had no rights whatsoever by the very cops and prosecutors and even judges who were supposed to be protecting my access to those rights that I finally realized just how stacked the deck is against the average person who doesn't have access to vast wealth and connections. It's for people like that, people like us, that the good defense attorneys leave prosection and politics behind in order to try to keep the system balanced. For the people who do have wealth and connections, yeah, sure, they're in another class of "justice," so they have a separate class of defense attorney that I'm sure has an equally flexible moral code. But for the average person, it is still good to know that there are defense attorneys who get just as passionate about abuses of justice as the people who are the targets of that abuse, and who are still willing to fight the good fight for what matters.
Yes, I wish I could send them lots of love and words of support. It’s probably hard to believe for them right now but they can find happiness and healing in the future.

Yea they makes way more sense than a drunk chick running over her bf either on accident or on purpose, is she's guilty she's a true pos for trying to bring other people down
As someone who was bitten by dogs, those are bite marks. Tear dropped shaped because of the teeth going in and being dragged across the skin coming out. And the fact the dog was suddenly "rehomed" out of state, really suspicious.
I’ve had road rash on every limb, my torso, and face from stunts over the years, and NEVER did they look like that. They also occurred on gravel, pavement, and sidewalks. They don’t look like that.
Then you would know he would have bite marks on the other side of his arm as well. So if those are bite marks made by a 90 pound German shepherd that actually has jaw muscles stronger than a pitbulls. Then why doesn't he have bite marks on the other side of his his arm.

I'd like to say that when my son died all I could say to the cops was it was all my fault. It was kidney failure but so many emotions are pouring out in this kind of situation it's hard to tell what a person could say. I thoroughly believe she was set up.
Yeah, I find it weird she would say that if she were guilty. It sounds more like the confused ramblings of someone horrified at the situation trying to grapple with how and why it has happened.
Grief and shock can do strange things. I know this isn’t the same at all but when my Maine Coon cat died and I buried her I was crying and repeating ‘I’m so sorry, I’m sorry’. She died of old age but I felt terrible for the loss and for having to bury her and leave her in the soil. I felt bad I couldn’t make her live longer so it felt like my fault. I know it doesn’t make sense. I was overcome with grief….. I still miss her. I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve also lost a husband and child. That was a long time ago but it’s still too painful to think about…..
It's really easy to blame yourself when someone dies unexpectedly. You start to think things like, "If I was there, they'd still be alive," "If I had answered the phone, they'd still be alive," "If we hadn't gotten into that fight last week, they'd still be alive," etc., etc. I definitely believe she was freaking out because she didn't know what happened so she began to blame herself. Because she had no answers, either..
My condolences. I too have never forgiven myself for my son's death even though it was natural causes. The guilt for not being omniscient has ruined my life.
1.He went up 3 flights of stairs and they have 3 flights of stairs in their home 2.Ring camera footage shows She backed into his car 3. Dog bite marks and the other cop got rid of his dog he’s had for 8 years 3. She most likely couldn’t have been going fast enough to kill him 4. All the deleted text messages and calls That for me, is enough reasonable doubt that she didn’t do it.
I was at her last court date to protest the corruption in this local police department. She is 100% innocent. Turtleboy Live has been covering this since day 1.
I went in to the trial without knowing much about the case and I am gobsmacked. If not a cover up its at least the worst case of incompetance from the police.
Shocking this has even led to her arrest in first place, total cover up and in doing so totally ruining that young woman’s life! That young woman that not long ago was in the road to her happily ever after. So tragic that those children lost not only their parents but their second chance at a settled happy childhood 😔
@@ThatChapter the broken tailight found ON TOP of fresh snow after the conflict-of-interest officers had her car towed away is the most convincing piece of the puzzle to me that it's a coverup, amidst all the other puzzle pieces. Like his body was outside. No taillight was found by his body. Snow fell that day. The officers towed her car. THEN the taillight was all of a sudden found ON TOP of the freshly fallen snow. If the taillight were there at the time of incident, it would have been under the snow. This is my understanding of some things I read.
@@debbiebarrow7557 I read about it a week or two ago, so I don't remember the source. If I find it again, I will definitely come back here and post it.

No jury will convict her if they know everything presented in this video. But even if the judge isn’t PERSONALLY involved with any players in this case, it’s likely she’ll still exclude exonerating evidence that the defense tries to introduce
I'll be honest, I don't see ANY reason the judge couldn't of been recused. There's very clearly the chance for bias. Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't assigned to a different county altogether
i dont understand why spending a lot of money on your defense is concidered to look guilty .. when its your freedom on the line an you got the law the people your suppose to trust to protect an serve for you trying to frame you .. your damn right shes gonna spend as much as she can to defend her ass
Great job, Mike. This is the second piece I’ve seen on this case. There’s so much reasonable doubt in this case. I can’t even believe they brought it to trial.
If this case doesn't scream corruption within I don't know what does. I hope this poor lady gets acquitted & they lock up the ones who are clearly guilty. The internet searches, getting rid of your dog, selling your house, evidence clearly planted afterwards, not giving the defense discovery....the jury would have to have been paid off if they deliberate a guilty verdict.
@@helpis0nthewayIdk, this country is full of people that don't understand what reasonable doubt means, a ton of bootlickers and that are just straight up too dumb or indoctrinated to question what the state is saying. I'd be terrified of facing a jury tbh.
I live about 40 minutes from Boston, this case is terrifying to me (and should be to everyone). An innocent person spending any time in jail is worse than a guilty person free. The thought of a system that can be so easily and outwardly manipulated potentially ending in a life sentence is terrifying. I have no idea who is guilty or not. However, the defense's argument and questions are more compelling to me than the prosecutions theory.
21:19 Truly heart-breaking seeing these kids faces so traumatized by this entire debacle. When someone is murdered, it effects the lives of so many others. These killers are so selfish. "Equity Analyst" is simply a newfangled term for what people used to call a "stock analyst", but since that became such an overused job, people invented "equity analyst", thinking that would look better on a resume.
This made me think of a documentary that I watched about Barry Gibbs yesterday. The guy was completely innocent, but he was framed and spent 19 years in prison, all because of a corrupt police officer. So, it does happen. Luckily, The Innocence Project took on his case and the officer went to prison. He got compensated very well, but he’ll never get that part of his life back. After watching so much true crime, I don’t know what frightened me more, the amount of people that get murdered or the amount of innocent people that are in prisons.
Being from Boston area I can say the majority of people believe this is a coverup and I believe they will have to make new arrests but than again it’s a crazy world in 2023 nothing would surprise me.
I went to Bentley, and had her for one class - she was actually a nice person and she was really passionate about what she does, I hope she gets justice
@@jameslynch5249 an irrelevant distinction because this DA is representing the commonwealth of Massachusetts of which Boston is the capital. The point is the legal system in MA has a history of corruption.
I live a few towns away. My initial thought when it happened was simple, she hit him mistake or not, and he froze in the snow bank. However, besides being a true crime watcher, and a Bostonian, all the things that bubbled to the surface changed my mind. Someone did that search inside the house. Therefore if they for instance had seen her hit him with the car, someone searched how long it would take him to die. Instead of rendering aide!!!! Which should be a crime in itself. My instincts and evidence seem to show there was a fight with this former marine, boxer tv star cop. The dog went for the right arm, made the marks, and they dumped him in the snowbank. Why else would he get rid of a beloved dog, sell a house, etc. There are too many variables pointing to it happening inside the house. Eyes swollen shut sounds like a boxer played punching bag with his face.
Mike, there's a suspicious case in Leongatha (Vic, Australia) of dodgy mushroom poisoning. 3 people dead (all ex in-laws of the chef) and one hanging on. The ex was hospitalised a year ago with similar symptoms
What they are doing to her is appalling and a waste of tax payers money! It's just a matter of time before the state pays her a millions of dollars in compensation.
Lets hope it's not from Trumps Jury pool. LOL
Definitely in need of a new judge for that acquittal. Hopefully her innocence can be proven without having to possibly spend years in prison waiting for a proper appeal

It seems to happen a awful lot in the US. The amount of people being represented by the innocent project is staggering you have DA's refusing to have newly found DNA tested too. If they were that sure of the conviction surely they'd have all evidence tested to prove themselves correct.....hmmm 😒
Detectives and Prosecutors aren't out for Justice, they're out for convictions! Keep that in mind if someone ever reads you your rights!!!
I loved the look she gave the reporter who asked if she did it. 😮
She obviously did it. Clearly
Denied access to evidence? Yeah... sounds about guilty coverup on the part of the people in that house.
The police didn't even go in the house to investigate. Brian Albert actually removed the basement floor before he moved. Now c'mon man.
I heard the FBI found the company that tore up the cement in Albert's basement floor.
Tore it up 4 mo after previous remodel.. then sold the 2 generation home for 50K under asking.. removed the dog.... lost their phones... butt dialed a modern password protected phone AND returned calls.
The FBI is investigating these officers. They were also involved in the Birchman case. It’s all insane.
Mike, please PLEASE keep us updated on this case! It is so suspicious, I think that the FBI may want to look into it as a corruption case.
The FBI is already looking into it
The FBI is one of the most corrupt. If they have a vested interest in any way, they’ll bury it. Let’s hope that’s not the case.
The fbi is worse than the local police. Dummy
FBI has its own corruptions that needs investigation too. FBI is not trustworthy above the law itself to be doing investigation. 🤔
They finally are because of the public outcry. Also, a key eyewitness i.e. a plow driver, who went by that house three times on that night because it was a blizzard but with somehow not interviewed by any investigators to date.

@CantTellYou and it said towards the end that there's no way she'd be going fast enough to hit him into a snow bank, let alone kill him!

This is the problem with doing true crime videos before anything is settled. Was the victim wearing a short sleave shirt in the winter while it's snowing? If not, what do the puncture holes in the clothing point to? What about his pants or tire tracks? It's all conjecture and not very satisfying.

4. Did he fall unconscious after the fight and after leaving the house, die of hypothermia?
5. The taillight broke when she was reversing from home and fell off near where she last saw her husband. Was it picked off by someone when the car was inspected.

The several times I've had road rash it always was in large patches, and scabby. The bite marks I had were teeth and puncture marks raked across the skin of my arm just like in the photograph. Exactly like that. Incidentally that's right where a dog tends to bite. Mine were on the right shoulder and upper right arm.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it was my understanding that the state was saying the lacerations on his arm were caused by blunt force, as in the car hit him and caused the skin to split right open, not from road rash. @@CantTellYou As tin foil as that sounds, it's the most likely. I have a few friends who are ex-cops who quit because of the corruption they encountered in law enforcement. There are too many consequences that point to the owners of the house being involved. The phone evidence, rehoming the dog, selling the house for 50k below value, etc… My bets are that she is being set up.

I’m guessing that perhaps some odd sort of things happened here, infidelity or practice sparing that resulted in this accident that to preserve the forces image, and to keep the family safe they threw karen under the bus.

Ya at the least i would say I had doubt and that is enough to not find her guilty.
They showed all they had to get the charge upgraded from manslaughter to murder. The "she did it just trust us" defense is like nothing I've ever seen before. And now the public freaking out. If they had anything they'd show it to shit us up. Biggest corruption case of the century

It’s going to trial because why would Karen even say she think she hit him. I’m on her side and still don’t understand her thinking process.
Karen was traumatized… who know what Jen McCabe was telling Karen also.
It happens all the time, even when you *know* you had nothing to do with it. People blame themselves for others' heart attacks and plane crashes in other countries. People are irrational about death, especially if she as drunk, which I fully believe she was.

Lol... I thought Mandy was making an off comment about Mike . So glad y'all just talking about a psycho 😅
While I can totally see the BPD doing an elaborate cover up, the ONLY thing that makes me question it, is that Turtleboy says that’s what happened. He is the last person I’d believe.

I definitely believe she was freaking out because she didn't know what happened so she began to blame herself, saying she hit him and she killed him. Because she had no answers, either..

So John ratting out a kid with a family full of cops probably wouldn’t work out so well for him.😣
They could have invited him just to kill him and frame his wife.
@lyssamerritt4756 this should be its own comment
Whether or not she was framed, I'm not really Karen. 😉
Ps you're a little too gullible, terry Patrick Down.
(didn't report him, he was SO sorry)
No way could a burley bloke have been killed or sustained those facial injuries.
Whatever, seems to me that any potential conviction is not without reasonable doubt.
He would have been bent over and then run over then the dog went to town on him all while he was in the house smh
Big shout to you for not reporting him. You're a real man
I was hit by a slowly backing up car as well.
I wonder why they cannot get the dog’s DNA. Is it because he won’t tell them who he gave the dog to?
Why do they need the specific dogs DNA to confirm? Cant they just test the wound for the presence of dog saliva?
@@sharingiscaring1952 Dogs scratch even when they don't bite. Especially if their nails haven't been clipped in a while. I've known multiple dogs to get excited and jump on me, their claws making scratch marks on my arms as they went down only to attempt to jump again making more marks. And that's all innocent fun. I'm sure in an attack it would be worse.

Boston cops have a lot of power and at the moment no presence in court for one of their own. Strange!
FBI, perhaps.
I agree there needs to be a system specially to target corrupt police because police get away with too much

100% a cover up! Just look at the gilgo beach murders and all of the police cover ups in that case. It goes deep. Thankfully the new dept and LE are now doing their due diligence but this was a home full of cops and their families. I think the search for "how long to die in the snow" seals it for me. That and the shady behavior by the friend and his wife. I think they're taking advantage of the wife's honest worry that she did somthing. I live near here and it's all anyone talked about for like a year
And the cell phone PROVES his phone was in the house going up and down stairs, if not he himself. And the later urgent sale of the house, and the displaced dog--all efforts to hide something. Anyway, she''s hot so she has to be innocent. 🤣🤣🤣
I agree
I live about an hour from Boston. I think something shady is going on here too. Thanks gonna check out turtleboy.
The 12 other people are cops and associates of cops.

Thank you thank you Mike ❤️ this is two towns over from me, and so frightening to see how deep the corruption actually goes
@@nilesredfern7989if the defense knew they were defending a guilty person they wouldn't be gunning for the library cctv to be released, they would rather that reasonable doubt to remain in the minds of the people
they want that footage released because they're convinced it will prove their client's innocence
DEFENSE.

If your going to trial for your life I'd get every single expert you can afford.
Here is the start of my weekend! Thanks Mike and TC followers. You all make my day!
No trial yet. The FEDS will be swooping in before that tomfoolery
What can't you believe? A frame job needs someone to frame. If she isn't a suspect then who is? And there you go.
@@tobythompson199xnot sure what would be worse, a jury or the judge on this case.
Damn, I feel bad for his niece and nephew. They lost both parents and now their uncle and guardian, too. How awfully sad!☹😔
Be careful, that's not Mike but a scammer.
The dog and house getting moved so quick is definitely sketchy af
I live about 40 minutes from Boston, this case is terrifying to me (and should be to everyone). An innocent person spending any time in jail is worse than a guilty person free. The thought of a system that can be so easily and outwardly manipulated potentially ending in a life sentence is terrifying. I have no idea who is guilty or not. However, the defense's argument and questions are more compelling to me than the prosecutions theory.

Truly heart-breaking seeing these kids faces so traumatized by this entire debacle. When someone is murdered, it effects the lives of so many others. These killers are so selfish. I just wanna hug those kids and keep them safe💔❤️🩹
On another note: after hearing both sides of the story, I believe Karen is innocent!
R.I.P. Officer O’Keefe🫡🇺🇸🚔❤
That broke my heart. Those poor babies! Too much! Nobody should have to see so much tragedy in their life. 😢
Shut it
@@PhoenixdiCorvo I agree, and couldn’t imagine going through so much trauma at such a young age. I truly wish them both healing and blessings.
Damn those poor kids 😢
@@Trustkillx What exactly is your problem?
So happy to see you cover this story. This is such a cover-up.
Those wounds on his arm....... I've never seen "road rash" like that.. the jagged shape looks like a dog biting and shaking its head and someone trying to pull his arm away....
Road crash on the snow and he wasn't near the road when found.!!
Ditto
I went to Bentley, and had her for one class - she was actually a nice person and she was really passionate about what she does, I hope she gets justice
I have my whole family randomly saying “ Let’s give it a gooo” 🤣
I can’t stop saying I hear ya barking big dog and I get some pretty odd looks
Everytime my boyfriend and I leave the house 😂😂😂
Bro same
On the twenty-terd , a tersday to be sure, Whitney Houston sang it best, "Saving all my goooo for yoooo."
Mine too!!
I truly hope that she is proven innocent so that this case will expose the corruption on every level of Boston's justice system.
It's not Boston, it's Canton. Norfolk County. Boston is Suffolk County.
@@jameslynch5249 Ok then, Nick now hopes that she's found guilty and gets the chair.
Don't forgot the apple watch clocking elevation steps going up stairs during the time frame. I think that's a big 🚩
@heatherhiggins2002 yes!!!! That especially
Definitely!!
They act like a dog in another state is gone forever.
So glad you did this one. You are the best crime storyteller. Thank you. Hi from TEXAS.
Mike, there's a suspicious case in Leongatha (Vic, Australia) of dodgy mushroom poisoning. 3 people dead (all ex in-laws of the chef) and one hanging on. The ex was hospitalised a year ago with similar symptoms
Aint nothing suspicious about it 😂, she did it! Plus she weighs to much and are destroying the planet, she should be charged for that also
I never knew that we could be addicted to a completely stranger until I found Mike!! I just love this channel and his work!! ❤
What they are doing to her is appalling and a waste of tax payers money! It's just a matter of time before the state pays her a millions of dollars in compensation.
The trial is going on now... oh man things are lookin BAD for the prosecution. The judge is ABSOLUTELY BIASED!
So who did it then? and why?
