Wrapping your trunks in the fall with a with polyester fabric will help reflect the solar energy that is absorbed in the day during the winter and prevent the bark tissue from expanding and contracting, which causes cracks in the the bark that will cause permanent damage to your fruit trees. It is important to remember to remove the wrap in the spring so as to not harbor insect and fungi pests during the summer months.
