      Mate, These blokes are so painful to watch. We've heard of the movie, Sleepless in Seattle. These blokes are clueless on Fraser LOL.... A mate and I were there a few weeks ago and we had the same kind of idiots in front of us and the ruts were enough to lose the Titanic. We had our tyres on 15PSI and shit it once those clowns left and gave us a clear run. Honestly, some blokes need their mothers with them to give them a good slapping!!

He is actually one of the most sensible 79 drivers I have seen, heavy rig with heaps of power yet he chose to stay calm and just cruise up, didn't need maxx or shovel too. The rig looks brand new so it seemed like he was seeing just how capable it was, everyone gotta learn the limits at some point.

      It actually proves your a sensible driver.

    • @neutronstorm
      @neutronstorm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheNewcastleKnight there is a lot of bad driving in these videos but people don't recognise good driving either. Much safer to drive slowly and reduce the risk of a head on than fly through faster then you need to spraying sand up over your roof. Mr. Mega said he was on 20psi, clearly a smidge too high for ngkala, dropped to 17 for the returm trip. 20 is ok for the east coast run most of the time but just stop before ngkala and let a bit more out and save clogging up the bypass and then just cruze through no worries. It's not a drama to add a bit of air on the other side if needed. People are just lazy and/or inexperienced. You could tell Mr. Mega was an experienced driver as he didn't spin his wheels and easily recovered himself even with slightly to high a tyre pressure without a big fuss.

    • @MrSilverfish12
      @MrSilverfish12 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neutronstorm yeah, you can tell by these crap comments that most of these people have no idea how good that Mega79 driver actually is. Being able to drive a heavy rig like that slowly uphill on sand without spinning takes knowledge and skill. He may have been a bit cocky but Im sure he just bought the thing and was probably wondering how capable it is. Great colour combo on it.

It needs 4L to lock the centre diff or you're stuffed. And I know how to drive in sand when one of the many 4wds I owned was a near hopelessly underpowered (95hp, no low range & VCU) MK1 Freelander diesel 😂 still managed to go everywhere on Fraser and Moreton with it 👍🙂

      Is it now? Funny that, coz it's generally sized between 1st and 2nd gear, both very large diameter gears, allowing more leverage and less torque affecting the gears physical strength. Cruiser are torque n the rest is just talk, 130-200hp Max with custom tune n chip & 4inch snorkel that is pointless. My stock Ls1 4runner is up around 370rwhp, and yes I run a 4inch snorkel p which isn't useless for a v8 petrol. only upgrade is fuel pump regulator and fuel lines

    • @dubbbs
      @dubbbs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 4" intake on a tuned engine actually does help bud. I went from factory snorkel to 4" armax and gained 15kw/35nm at the wheels on the dyno. On petrol isn't as important, but when you're trying to keep the air going in when dumping more fuel on a diesel, it helps keep them cool. Even on a 35° day, towing 3.5t up long hills, my exhaust temps never go over 250° just behind the turbo.

      Nothing wrong with road tyres mate. Just as long as they're between 12-18psi. The less aggressive tread you have, the less you will dig into the sand. Sand driving is all about minimising how much you churn up the sand. You want to coast over it.
