I think side by side cartridge comparisons are very useful but it would be a lot easier to evaluate the results if all the patterns were centred on the pattern boards.
That was so much better than previous comparison of 3 or 4 different cartridges. I will have to rerun the video to see the spread. Alex I like the new video camera really good definition.
David your gun Mount and how you pull the gun in your shoulder is truly excellent, very meaningful test 10/10.if I have to be a bit picky would be nice to zoom in a bit further so pattern would be visible on a hand held, Never the less seriously excellent, cheers, regards to .Mum and Dad. A big thank you.
Thank you David, at present I am going to try some Gamebore EVO 24 gr 8s with 3/8 & 5/8 Teague Chokes in my Caesar Gerini Invicta 1 m- spec. last week I tried Eley Ambers 21 gr 8s in fibre had 42x 50 after the 2nd time of useing the gun with Teague internal chokes 1/4 & 1/2 would loved to shoot more but will have to stop until I have this knee replacement. At my local club Drayton Parslow I can park about 50 yds away from the practice and teaching trap this is ideal for me to keep my eye in.
The whole fkn video was pointless imho. All patterning to upper left, due to windage or POI of gun? Totally unscientific can’t understand what he was trying to prove other than what colour each cartridge is.
Met a England FITASC champion who used to say " They all break em, But some break em a bit better than others!!"...Myself have noticed some remarkable breaks with 24gms at l o n g ranges?! and 1/4 choke! Good idea to do as here, pattern test....
I'm in the US, and the only brand I recognize that's available here is Fiocchi. I'll give them a try! Can you do a video on common double barrel O/U failures and malfunctions?
* Each shooter should find out for themselves how their gun patterns a certain type of shell. One shot can't possibly tell the shooter very much. Try at least 5 shots per choke. Since both barrels have the same choke constriction, it would have been more interesting to compare the two.
interesting comparison. even shotguns have their cartridge likes and dislikes. I have found ,better quality chokes always pattern better even in cheap cartridges. I do agree that Italian made premium cartridges pattern better, this is consistant in my ceaser guerini, perazzi and DT 11 Beretta Guns
Thank you for the comment if you would like to give Doug or Toby a call at The Oxford Gun Company they have lots of guns at that price range and will be very happy to help you with this and you will be able to try a few before you buy them 01844 238 308 Thanks The TSC Team.
I always buy whatever JC's have on offer, I mean it's only a clay pigeon. I'm more selective with game cartridges obviously, nobody wants to wound a bird if they can help it.
I couldn’t even see the results properly the video was too dark. Would have been nice if you could break down the patterns but doing so against a consistent poa. Varying poa, every time you shoot and only using one cart, I would be sceptical to trust results from such little and possibly inconsistent data.
ALL shells hit their targets N/W-HIGH so either he hasn't set up his choice of weapon to shoot at 30m, he's a shit shot at 30m or every shell was a 460(bird) an the slightest of breeze threw them off centre mass. this is usually what happens when you use fibre wad shells (totally shite) hard/board are best all round with plastic being a last resort. :)
for pheasant you want a 200 hardboard shell and for clay you want 100 hardboard/plastic shell lesser for clay as it helps you train targeting skills and lesser for small game like pheasant as it prevents liquifaction which if you intend to eat your kill you want it intact and plump and not just a pile of blood and fathers or in-toxified full of lead.
Good vid. Ignoring the POI change and taking the "view" as a group like you would a rifle or pistol, it appears my petsonal theory is correct. I'm gonna be a $h1t shot whatever bangers I choose.
someone needs to invent a frangible clay shot and a high impact/low count frangible bird shot in all guage variants because LEAD is a really shitty material and is super toxic :/

The gun should've been on a resting post so you hit the middle of the pattern board. Your results are meaningless if the guns waving around.

Interesting just to see the patterns, and not much in them but lots of difference in the price ! Very good video David 👍👍
Thanks David, interesting comparison. I’d like to try the RC2 competition, will try a slab next time I’m at Oxford Gun Company 👍

What is the approximate velocity of clay cartridges.

rubbish a choke is a choke
A British cartridge manufacturer has won Olympic gold
That was in 2000 and not since. Thanks for your comment TSC team.
the first ones used pattern superb....... RC7,s, what speed..??
Thanks they are about 1450 I think from memory if you call the oxford gun company on 01844 238 308 they will help you. Thanks TSC team.
Just getting into shooting. What gun for 750 would you recommend please

A Good all rounder and something that looks and punches above it’s weight - Bettinsoli Diamond Deluxe Sideplate - I got one myself and it’s top notch.
@@TSCTheshootingchannel live in norfolk but will defiantly drop them a line thx
What did you go for in the end?

stray from fibre wads they are absolutely shite great waste of money

Really hard to see the patterns and the duelling banjos kills your ears
Music too loud
Turn it down then?
@@jimmilne5004 Then you can't hear what he's saying
Silver lining and all that!
I wouldn't say any of these patterns are very good very high and gapes in them!
Totally unscientific, not enough shots to produce decent data and human error with the point of aim variability
You can’t test plastic wad v fibre wad and call it a fair test, even cheap plastic wad cartridges will out perform an expensive fibre

Wow, you must not know anything about how shotguns work. Frangible shots… that sounds safe. Let’s create a solution for a problem that never existed.
Super nonsence. Lead is the best that ever will be.
Why shoot at 30 m when the standard is 35 m/40 yards? Your belief in manufacturer quality/consistency is unfounded. Needs to be proven.
Seeing we can’t see the patterns clearly at all, the whole video is pointless.
What rubbish !! People who make a living shooting come up with some rediculous tests !!
