  • After repeated posts from so called ‘professional’ car valeters belittling TH-camrs as ‘knowing ‘f*ck all’ and refusing to watch anyone who has attempted to make a video on car cleaning, granted there are a few who don’t seem to know their arse from their elbow but hey, at least they are having a go 😅
    I decided to ask a friend who uses the same professional car detailing service in a shopping centre (mall) car park if I was to clean their car to see if it was any better (or worse) and they could decide whether it was worth paying me for the job as a challenge to my knowledge , experience and techniques.
    I chose a few products which would still allow me some profit (as any business would) if i complete complete the job to their satisfaction, i hope you enjoy the usual level of visual and auditory entertainment as well as the usual tip or two thrown in for good measure.
    I’ll post the links to the products used in the video below if you want to check them out for yourselves.

    Around two hours while filming is very good going Graeme, well done mate. As for cleaning/valeting/detailing for a living. No thanks, that's a bloody hard way to earn a living, you have to respect them👍

      Very true!!, tried it a few years back, that’s where GM Details actually began, Auto Valeting and Detailing, but no, not for me I prefer doing it as a hobby

    • @ObsessiveCarDetailer
      @ObsessiveCarDetailer 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ at least doing it as a hobby you can take your time, try different products and processes without real time restraints. Doing it for a living I imagine is a very pressured environment as you have to balance time and results

      Thanks mate 👌 I’ve got the perfect car lined up for the comparison too, something for next year tho as I’m quite far behind as my iPad broke , now have a better, more powerful one to edit with so hopefully get more videos out more often 👌

    2 hours for all that is going sum, car looked fantastic at the end, no way it would have come back anywhere near that good from the supermarket bunch, and they'd have been using nasty cheap chemicals. Well done

      Couldn't agree more!!, that’s a great point actually , cheap nasty wheel acids etc , and possibly fairy liquid 😂

    Fantastic work and great content for me to watxh, thank you Graeme. Ive not got the GT rinseless or interior but the rinseless is in the cart, ready for me to press go. As for interior cleaner, i just use Koch Chemie PolStar, it can be used in every surface, including leather and at 20:1, and with a low cost per bottle anyway, i struggle to find better. Looking forward to your upcoming videos. All the best 👍.

    Enjoyed the video, thanks.
    I find lambs wool mitt to be the safest/softest, and don't like noodle mitt or microfibre personally.
    When my car isn't too dirty, which is most of the time as I wash it every week, I use Bilt Hamber auto foam on a dry paint, rinse, then a cheap autoglym pure shampoo, rinse, and dry with soft car drying towels. Finally I use P&S beadmaker as a topper. It takes me about 20 mins.
    For the wheels, I use Bilt Hamber auto wheel, which I agitate with UF wheel woollies. This probably adds another 15 mins to do all four wheels properly.

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the info! I’ve done several videos with Bilt Hamber got to mix it up a bit to be different, you don’t see lambs wool mitts on sale so much now, which one are you using?

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@GMDetails I use the Meguiars mitt, they do seem to be really good quality for a Halfords consumer product.
      One usually lasts me about 40-50 washes before it gets relegated to wheel arch use and I have to buy a new one for the bodywork sir.

    You done an amazing job on that car and it was great to seee how the dirt shifted off the paintwork on the prewash stage .... Whilst the wheels were dirty looking to start with the white paintwork didn't look that bad up until the citrus and snowfoam did its job on it

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Peter 👍
      One thing I hate when filming is white cars not showing the dirt to begin with and on my channel white has been the dominant colour since I started 😅
      Glad you noticed the dirt being removed, did you see the grime coming out the window rubbers?, those were greeeeennn 😂

    Hi Graeme. Lovely, relaxing content and car looked fantastic. I still can't find my perfect wash media and I agree with you on noodle mitts, just don't like the feel.
    G3 products are great for weekend warrior IMHO. Cheers pal

      Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it mate, never know if people like the music content or not but it disguises the wind noise and the noisy kids in the street 😆
      My favourite wash mitt is actually one like the Valet Pro one, it’s just the right size but the cuff does get annoying as I don’t use it as a glove, but I also don’t really like the square pad type ones so if someone made one like a mitt, without a cuff on it I think that would be amazing

    Two hours for a maintenance wash inside & out is going some and all for £30 it's a hard graft in my opinion. I like to take my time on a detail but as it is my hobby in retirement time is something I have in abundance. I am getting my next new to me car tomorrow so next week will be taken up treating it to a deep deep clean and winter prep with multiple layers of wax and sealant courtesy of Mitchell & King. You made a cracking job of that car. White does really look good when properly cleaned it's just I hate waxing them as it is more difficult to see where I have been. I'm sure driving for a living pays better and it is certainly warmer in a Scottish winter.

    • @petersmith7126
      @petersmith7126 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Stop waxing white cars in fact stop waxing full stop and go for a spray on rinse off products that can in the better products offer 2-3 months protection

      I much prefer a sealant on a white car, do you think the yellow tinge from the carnauba makes the crisp white look dull?, I do I’ve never found a wax I’m happy with yet on white ?! 🤔

    • @johnbrown3951
      @johnbrown3951 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@GMDetails It's been a while since I owned a white car to put any of my good waxes on it so whether it makes the paint dull I wouldn't like to comment. Don't tell John@M@K but the last couple of white cars I have done for my neighbours for fun I applied Gyeon Wax followed by Gyeon Cure as (I had them on the shelf to use) to good effect and I didn't see any dulling quite the opposite in fact.

    Excellent job Graeme do you prefer Garage Therapy snow foam to Bilt Hamber touchless ? And which is your favoured glass cleaner ?Thank you

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for the kind words Michael, I very much appreciate you taking the time to say that 👌
      I do love the newer Bilt Hamber Touch Less snowfoam, it’s a very nice product to use as a foam, has a very good dwell and cleans exceptionally well in my opinion, I much prefer it to Autofoam , where in comparison to that I’d chose the GT snowfoam 😅
      Glass cleaner I know you’ll be wanting to hear about the new BH trace less but in all honestly each time I’ve used it, it leaves a residue which is incredibly difficult to remove , I’m hoping to show a comparison between this and GT Glass to see the difference as well as Koch Chemie glass cleaner so lots still to come on the channel 😆
      If I had to chose which glass cleaner I use regularly it’s def Garage Therapy Glass 👌

    Looks nice, a tar removal treatment and dressing the tyres would of finished it off.

    • @GMDetails
      @GMDetails  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A tar and fallout remover wouldn’t fall within this ‘mini valet’ budget clean, I feel for this when I was about to go into this full time , just couldn’t get my head around a ‘partial clean’ and charge money for it so I would under charge and over deliver , it’s not for me at all 🫣
      And the customer requested not to apply a tyre dressing as they didn’t like them 😅
